Love this pet store! I wish I had known about them sooner. I usually go to Petco or Petsmart to get pellets for my parrot, which I'm not a huge fan of. I did a search one day trying to find another pet store nearby, and Mayo's came up. I gave it a shot, as it was only 7 min drive from my home. What an awesome pet store! The guy at the counter is so nice and friendly. We got to chatting about his two beautiful birds (Baby and Breeze). Baby is such a character--I almost burst out laughing when she started kissing her own reflection in her little mirror. Can't wait to run out of food for my parrot again. lol read more

This store is the best pet store we've been in. We have bought cages, furry pets, fish, lizards, newts and a bird and We LOVE MAYOS! All of our pets have been healthy and made wonderful additions to our family. The ones we bought 9 years ago lived longer than the normal life expectancy and were delightful! Pam, Paul, Mark and Donna are great and they have a wonderful and reasonably priced wing and nail clipping for birds on Sundays. My fiance and I ventured out to Mayo's (half hour drive) to find plants for our new fish tank. We were excited to scope out a new pet/fish store that got such great reviews on Yelp. Unfortunately what we found was a disappointment. The fish department had a lot of tanks, but no live plants (the tanks were totally stark other then crowded fish). I saw one tank with two dead crayfish laying upside down. We pretty much left after that. And as for friendliness, we walked by the man at the register twice. He was doing nothing but sitting there and we didn't hear a peep from him. Clearly other people have had better experiences, and maybe fish are just not their focus, but if you are in the market for fish or live aquarium plants, save your time and go somewhere else. read more

We just bought our first rabbit at Mayo's. The staff there were so knowledgable and helpful. It is a great store for supplies, small animals, birds and fish. They don't sell dogs or cats, instead they refer people to the local shelters. A great place. They came recommended to us by another friend who is also very pleased! read more

I like Mayo's. They're close to my mom's house and were on my way home from an old job so I used to stop in every couple weeks to pick up something, often times to browse and find something I didn't know I needed! They have a wide variety of items but not a huge selection. I didn't spend a lot of time in their dog/cat supplies but they have a very impressive aquatic supply selection for a local shop and their small animal section was fantastic. The owners were just wonderful too, they were nice, just chatty enough and very knowledgeable. I'd absolutely shop here again! read more

They get there bearded dragons from real legit people. Their not sick beardies, not mass produced. Healthy little guys. And everything related to bearded dragons for food and items for them, are the same you find everywhere else in pet stores (plus more) ...and everything is so cheap compared to every pet store ive been too. I bought two turtles from them when they were still in Hudson downtown, they lived for a loong time lol. Great place, and there bird is wicked funny. It's rare that I review places but this one deserved a call out. I went there two days ago to buy supplies for a new dog including a harness. I had to guess at the size of the harness because I did not yet have the dog. The cashier told me it would not be an issue if I needed to exchange the harness for another size once fitted. After trying the harness on I headed back in today to exchange it for the next size down. The only harness they had in stock in the correct size was the "deluxe" version. Instead of making me pay the extra cost the cashier (new guy this time) gives me the deluxe harness as an equal exchange. I asked for some advice for some training treats for a picky eater and when I tried to buy the recommended treats he gave me those free of charge as well. They probably lost $15 on me today but bought a customer for life. Damn impressive customer service! read more

Mayo's is a great place with nice knowledgeable staff. I bring my bird there to get his wings clipped. Lots of toys and different choices for food there. You can purchase animals there as well. Stay out of Petco and go to Mayo's! read more

I love this pet store. It's the only place around me that I can find bunnies to buy. The bunny I bought there, Meatloaf, is a doll. He's so sweet! The owners are great too. They showed my sister and I how to hold the bunny and even held him for us while we went to ask our mom if we could buy the bunny and someone else wanted to buy him. If you want a quality pet that is going to be friendly and not infested with something (which happens at other pet stores) then buy your pets here! read more

Very friendly staff and many items. I'm giving 2 stars because the guinea pigs had no hay and no hiding space. Hermit crab tank had dead crabs in it laying among live ones, and fish tanks were overcrowded and extremely dirty. read more

Do yourself a favor and stay away from the big pet chains. We discovered MAYO'S PETS & MOREi in Northboro, Ma. Purchased 2 female Guinea pigs and could not be happier. Upon walking in to the store there was absolutely no smell at all. The store was immaculate as were the shelves and cages. First impression was extremely good. Wandered over to the Guinea pigs and was just as impressed. Lots of fresh clean shavings, hay, water, food and little hiding spots. You could tell they were very well cared for and handled a lot. They are both super friendly. Prices of food, etc was very good and a great brand to boot. So very happy with the store!!! Will be back for all supplies. read more

I have been buying my dog food at Mayos for more than 15 years. I would not think of going anywhere else despite many large box pet stores in the area. The owners are a great couple that run a great local store. They know you by name and can order food specially for you. My bag of dog food is always waiting by the door. I might pay a dollar more for a huge bag of food but would rather it go to my neighbors than to a huge company. read more
