I had a great-tasting orange here that I enjoyed as well as delightful tofu. They had great variety and a selection wide enough for me at the time. The store was organized. Items were well-displayed. There was a pleasant-appearing and congenial-acting staff lady who said her name was Marie. Her outfit looked awesome, and her hair looked fantastic. This Aldi has a great location, right on Harlem Avenue. The store itself had a great ambiance. The lighting and character of the aesthetics of the store visuals were quite appealing. There was a large parking lot. The area is even walkable. I would love to continue to have more good experiences at Aldi.

Admittedly they did not read my original receipt. And the self-checkout setup is an embarrassment. One cashier responsible for handling their lane, customers and returns AND overseeing a dozen self-checkout machines simultaneously. When something goes wrong, they scream across the entire front of the store to locate the customer. Loud, chaotic, and humiliating for everyone involved. This is not an employee problem. This is a corporate problem. Cheap, understaffed, and completely indifferent to the experience of both their workers and their customers. Not returning until change is implemented.

One of the first things I appreciated was the huge parking lot--it makes stopping in stress free!!!! . Prices are decent overall, and the store is well organized . While some of the meats looked a little questionable to me personally, everything else I picked up was in good condition. The hot bar is definitely a highlight. The oxtails were delicious, and the macaroni and cheese was flavorful and comforting. A nice bonus is that you can get a slice of cake for just a dollar with your dinner, which felt like a great deal. I was also able to find some really nice items I wasn't expecting, and the customer service was friendly and helpful throughout my visit. Overall, it's a solid neighborhood store with some great food options and good value.

They had a lot of food items that I enjoyed, e.g., grilled chicken, sushi, Silk soy milk, fresh produce. They had meal options that were easy to make, that I could simply stick into a microwave if I desired something quick and convenient. The food tasted good, and I appreciated having self-checkout kiosks. I was also able to get other important items at this store, e.g., toiletries, laundry stuff, paper towels. I appreciated that the store had long hours, which was convenient for me. If you asked them anything they would have to go ask someone else and never return. Nobody never knew where anything was at. They use to have a butcher counter and that's now a cooler for cottage cheese and Pillsbury crescent rolls. They use to have a liquor department, that had a security guard checking ID's when you walk in. That's completely gone. Use to have more choices than most now you're lucky to find things in stock. You use to be able to walk in and walk out with a simple sign in of your phone app. That is also gone. Isles are empty all over the place. Many things always out of stock like milk, water, bread and other basics. The meat selection is pretty gross. No idea where they are getting it from but it's not a local farm. Ground beef looks soupy in packages. Chicken is tough and full of veins. Even bagged shrimp is funky. Then they're's the employees. Everyone is running around with carts filling what I can only imagine is online orders. No one working the store for customers. Usually only 1 register open ever and they expect you to use self checkout. Food prices use to be decent. Not real grocer store values but not 7-11 either. You have to really watch for sales but when they happen nothing is in stock and a sign goes up stating that they are out. Seems that expiration dates are very short on food too. Like the meats, fruits and vegetables and baked goods. You have to watch out for that as we've bought many things that are already expired. Big disappointment, they have no local phone number. So if you have an issue with an item, or trying to find out if something is in stock you can't. You have to go in person for everything. It's a nice fairly clean store but the roof is always leaking. Every time there is rain, there are buckets in isles. It's a guarantee. In short, they need to decided if they are a real grocery store or an online retailer. They need to stop changing their model of what they are inside every 6 months. They need to know the communities they are in before popping up. It's the most disconnected business I've ever shopped in. It seems they are just a hub for the online retail market with a side of convenience store.

When I first got food from Pete's Market in Oak Park, I was quite impressed. The food was delicious. I liked the set up. I saw they had a lot of variety and appealing options for food. The grocery store is clean and well-organized. The staff have been attentive. I definitely got a family vibe from the store. They even have a dining area. When I ate the baklava there for the first time, it brought light to my eyes and joy to my mouth. I have enjoyed their fruit produce a lot as well. My favorite food from the store has been their fruit produce and their hot food section, but they have a lot of other awesome food as well. I have not been eating a lot of sweets, but their baked goods look delicious. Their veggies also look fantastic. I have gotten celery there that I liked a lot. Pete's Market in Oak Park even has foods I have had trouble finding in other stores, e.g., cans of soy milk. The lamb they have in their hot food section is out of this world. I have not even seen lamb in other grocery stores as part of hot foods/prepared foods. Overall, Pete's Market is one of my favorite grocery stores. I have found myself craving their food multiple times. When I am not there, I have thought about and looked forward to when I could go there again, like a special treat. I would definitely recommend the food here to almost anyone.
