Ordering counter just inside front door

Legit middle eastern grill. Kebabs and other middle eastern and Greek items. One of very few Halal certified eateries I've been to in area. Order at counter and get table number. There's about 10-12 tables and booths inside. Lots of windows, nice and bright. Only 2 people working in restaurant, but we were quickly helped at ordering counter and food was out to our table in about 10 minutes. I got the beef and lamb wrap that came with a side of dipping sauce. Thought it would be Tzatziki, but tasted like plain mayo. They've got wraps, meat and vegetable entree plates, burgers, salads, a few things for the kids, and appetizers. Everyone should be able to find something here. The food was ok/good, and freshly made, and I guess if I lived close by, I'd be in pretty often for take-out. But I'm 45 mins away, and it's not special enough to warrant the trip. Unless you are needing Halal prep, I think food at Greek Islands Grill and Shawarmati on Power are a cut above. $40 with tax and tip for 2 people

I wanted to try Maza Mediterranean Cuisine after seeing the restaurant advertise its 4.9-star Google rating, but my experience was very different. Service was extremely slow. It appeared the owner/chef was doing everything while the other staff could only deliver food. Several customers walked in, waited at the register without being helped, and left. After the long wait, the food was disappointing. The gyro tasted no better than pre-made frozen gyro meat from the grocery store. I know they're newly opened, so I hope they improve, but based on this visit, the experience didn't come close to the rating being advertised.

Absolutely lovely new place near chandler mall! You must try so wonderful Mediterranean food! The kabob, dolmas and falafel on point, brings back great memories of the Middle East!

We arrived at about 1pm on a Thursday and it was busy with a lively atmosphere. I ordered the Greek Salad with Gyros and my friend ordered the Lamb Kafta kabob plate. The person who took our order was friendly and helpful, answering a few questions pleasantly. This a counter service restaurant, so once we paid we were fortunate to grab a table with only two available inside. Our food arrived about 10 minutes later. My Greek salad was fabulous, fresh tasting, crunch of the cucumbers, brine of the Kalamata olives and the Feta salty funk. The gyro portion on my salad was generous. My friend enjoyed her Kafta kabobs, flavorful and delicious. We enjoyed dining at both the Mesa and Chandler locations. Looking forward to returning. Highly recommended!

Everything looked soooo appetizing on the menu and since I was going to meal prep this week, the Al Sham Chicken Combo caught my eye. For $15, you get little cute pieces of chicken shawarma with 2 dips! I was in love with the red sauce and wish the garlic sauce was more garlic-y but it was good either way! The kofta was great as well but would definitely come back more for their shawarmas but it's definitely the best bang for your buck I also got some baba ganoush on the side to dip my fries in but unfortunately, I thought the baba ganoush was too lemony/there was too much sumac added so it wasn't as enjoyable. Most baba ganoush I've tasted in my hometown also had a smokey flavor to it from the eggplant so it really couldn't compare.

Hail to the king, hail to the King of Gyros!…read more I've been to their location on Warner and Priest many times as I worked close by for a few years, and then drove by this Price and Willis location a few weeks back and was excited to see a location closer to my current office! King of Gyros is a perfect lunch destination! If you want a great meal to fill you up for awhile at a reasonable price, go with the pita specials or salad. If you're looking for more food and sides, the plates are an excellent option. Their pitas are the best around...excellent meats (chicken shawarma is my favorite...marinated, juicy, beautiful auburn color) accompanied by the right amount of tzatziki or garlic sauce (not overpowering like many places) and beautiful veggies (lettuce, onion, tomato). You can also get them 'spicy' where they adorn it with hot peppers...highly recommended if you like a kick! Their plates and salads are also excellent as you can taste the quality of the product and preparation they put into their food. The interior of this location is a little smaller that the Warner and Priest location. On the west wall is a huge city skyline mural that's pretty awesome to dine under. They additionally have a small semi-covered patio. The workers are friendly and the food comes out in about 5 minutes. Finally, they have a traditional Coke fountain and a Gold Peak tea dispenser for beverages, or you can grab something out of the case (sparking waters, Jarritos bottles, energy drinks, etc). I will be coming back to this place at least once a month for lunch!

I ordered Greek Fries. They do not offer Greek Fries with any protein and I wanted chicken on my Greek fries so I asked if I could add chicken. They guy ringing me up said yes and added an additional $7.99 to my bill. I also added a side of garlic sauce. Total bill $16. Greek fries are $6, garlic sauce $.75 and chicken $8. More than I wanted to pay for a workday lunch but oh well too late to change things now. This place is actually cozy and clean. They have upstairs seating too. Very inviting environment. There are plenty of offerings on the menu. Prices seem fair for the most part (except for $8 for chicken, very dry chicken on my Greek fries). The Greek fries themselves were fantastic! There was a side of what I think was Greek dressing to pour over the fries which were covered in feta cheese. Absolutely delicious! Adding chicken was a mistake on my part. Then again, they really shouldn't charge $8 for dry ass chicken. There was no amount of sauce to make this chicken go down easy. I ended up pushing the chicken off to the side and throwing it away. Lesson learned. Will I be back? Yes! Will I ever order chicken for my fries again? No!

I was reminded why I don't dine here more frequently, they put the 'meh' in Mediterranean. Starting with the ambiance, this place is looking old and weathered. Their store front is not very inviting. Once inside, you navigate through their dining area to the counter to order. The counter area looks more like an advertisement for other establishments...stickers, ads, coupons, notes and all sorts of motley items. The man who I think was doing three jobs in one (host, order taker, bathroom attendant) took my order and walked away. No friendly hello or enthusiasm of any kind. Once I took my seat I watched several people use their store just for the bathroom in the back...the back where there's no door separating the dining area vs. kitchen vs. warehouse vs. bathroom. People were standing in a line to use the restroom a foot from where my food was being made. I ordered a simple gyro sandwich with rice. The sandwich was pretty straight-forward: gyro slices, onions, tomatoes and tzatziki. When it arrive, there was no sign of tomatoes or onion...just different shades of brown drowning in too much tzatziki. I eventually found several onions and one tiny tomato underneath all the meat. Underneath...what a poor presentation. The rice was okay...nothing special. There was nothing here that would draw me back. Having several other Mediterranean food options within miles that I do enjoy has relegated this place to 'in emergency break glass' status.

In fact, I have even been twice in the last two days and finally brought my husband along to show him what the hype was about. It is the ultimate quick, high-quality meal, and I love supporting local spots that consistently deliver. I almost always go for the combination plate because it gives you a great variety of food. The chicken gyro meat is incredible and perfectly seasoned. I also tried the chicken shawarma, which was a little on the dry side this time, but the flavor is still good so I definitely still eat it. For sides, I usually switch between getting the rice and salad or the rice and fries. The plate also comes with warm pita, tomatoes, and sliced onions tossed in a delicious seasoning that adds the perfect fresh, tangy crunch to the meal. I usually get my food to go. Since I have to travel all the way back to Laveen, I am always skeptical about how takeout will hold up, but the food is always still nice and warm when I get home. As long as they are open, I will keep coming back. If you are looking for a fresh, flavorful, and filling meal, this is the place to go.
