It had been years since I've been here so I wanted to give it another try as it's right down the street from my work. I was reminded why I don't dine here more frequently, they put the 'meh' in Mediterranean. Starting with the ambiance, this place is looking old and weathered. Their store front is not very inviting. Once inside, you navigate through their dining area to the counter to order. The counter area looks more like an advertisement for other establishments...stickers, ads, coupons, notes and all sorts of motley items. The man who I think was doing three jobs in one (host, order taker, bathroom attendant) took my order and walked away. No friendly hello or enthusiasm of any kind. Once I took my seat I watched several people use their store just for the bathroom in the back...the back where there's no door separating the dining area vs. kitchen vs. warehouse vs. bathroom. People were standing in a line to use the restroom a foot from where my food was being made. I ordered a simple gyro sandwich with rice. The sandwich was pretty straight-forward: gyro slices, onions, tomatoes and tzatziki. When it arrive, there was no sign of tomatoes or onion...just different shades of brown drowning in too much tzatziki. I eventually found several onions and one tiny tomato underneath all the meat. Underneath...what a poor presentation. The rice was okay...nothing special. There was nothing here that would draw me back. Having several other Mediterranean food options within miles that I do enjoy has relegated this place to 'in emergency break glass' status. read more

This place is located on West side of Alma School between Ray and Chandler. It's pretty small inside and people are very friendly. Prides are similar to other Greek places. Overall the portions are good sized but you should get extra sauce such as tzatziki because there isn't any in the pita as served. The combo platter is a good option to get a variety of appetizers. Gyro were as expected. I think the chicken shawarma could have had more spice and taste to it. read more

This was the soggiest pita I've ever encountered. I pulled the meat off because I couldn't even grab the pita with how wet it was. Also the 2 slices of tomatoes and 4 slices of onions were highly disappointing. Definitely not impressed and won't be ordering here again. read more

This place is a hidden gem tucked away in a strip mall in Chandler. I've visited this area before and apparently never noticed this Greek spot. Definitely a small space. Not for big parties. We went during lunch time and it was busy. Staff was super friendly and seemed to treat everyone like they are family. We ordered the combo meat platter and the chicken platter. They come with a protein, pita, tzatziki sauce, rice and a Greek salad. We also ordered their lemon chicken rice soup and it was superb. However, I wished they would've warned how piping hot it was. No amount of blowing on my soup spoon made it cool enough for me to eat, so upon my first taste of the soup, I burned my lip and tongue. Although it is very delicious, please be aware that it is ridiculously hot. Platters were full and tasty! Great spot, and I will definitely be back. Ordered the chicken kabob pita combo with a salad and drink. Food was great. The char on the chicken was notable and the salad ingredients were definitely fresh. Portion size was large. Interior of the restaurant was pretty basic and what you'd expect for a strip-mall joint like this. Nothing fancy. There was a TV on the wall playing the news pretty loudly which was a bit distracting. Ended up moving tables to the other side of the restaurant so we could have a conversation. Never ordered soup before at a restaurant but couldn't resist the idea of lemon chicken soup. And WOW did it deliver!! Living in a retirement state, I usually have to add salt to anything from a restaurant -- happy to discover that it wasn't needed. The soup was perfectly seasoned! As I'm writing this review I'm sitting in this restaurant amazed with how tasty, clean, and fast the shop is! I walked in here off of a recommendation from my friend for good shawarma and he raved about the chicken shawarma. I walked in and looked at all the wide array of menu items they had, but ultimately got the chicken shawarma on pita, since I'd be craving that haha. I met Fred the store owner and he was extremely helpful and told me everything about the food and menu! I waited a couple minutes and my food came out hot and fresh. The chicken was hot and the cucumbers, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce were fresh, cool and crisp! It was the perfect balance of savory and refreshing! After I finished my meal Fred came back in to check up on how I was doing and how the food was. We had a nice conversation and got to talk about him and his wife owning the shop for 16+ years and how they've been serving the whole community for that long. I can't recommend this spot enough! Firstly, I tend to rate Greek restaurants by the Greek salad. That being said, the salad was fantastic! The gyro and hummus were great as well. As for service and ambiance, they rate high as well. While I was there, I saw a large catered business lunch pick up, a few work lunch groups, regulars and a steady pick up of Uber eats. The owners might not overwhelm you with friendly customer service, but they are busy working on orders, serving tables, cleaning tables, and handling the volume of orders. The menu is fairly priced and served on real plates. They have a nice selection of drinks with ice teas and red cream soda. We had the chicken Shawarma and Philly steak sandwich combos. Each combo arrived with a bountiful salad. The pitas were soft and warm. The chicken Shawarma could use a bit more tzatziki (available for $1) but had a generous portion of chicken. We did a large catering order to feed 120 people. The service was excellent. The owner was super nice. Very helpful. Wouldn't even let me load things in my car. He did it all for me on top of that. First time at The Greeks Grill, and I truly enjoyed my meal. I came in for a late lunch and ordered their chicken Shawarma and the hummus appetizer. The hummus came with pepper sprinkle on top, which I thought was nicely done, gave it a little kick. Their pita bread was really soft and warm when it was served. Their chicken Shawarma is one of the best I have tasted in a long time. You can clearly see it is coated in a really seasoned sauce. The chicken was tender, moist, and well seasoned. The information on maps says it's open till 7:30pm and i showed up and the open sign was on and it was 7:10pm. They said kitchen closed at 7pm. If you advertise to stay open till 7:30pm, then you need to honor that. I don't care how good your food is, people plan around information and this was bad form. We ordered the Chicken Shawarma and Chicken Kebab platters (both come with rice, pita, Tzatziki and salad, and the Chicken Kebab also comes with grilled vegetables). We also ordered a side of Greek fries. The chicken in both the dishes were juicy, flavorful and smoky (the vegetables had a beautiful char but retained their crunch). The rice and sides were perfectly seasoned as well. I would recommend ordering an additional side of feta for the the Greek fries as my order didn't have very much. This place is my absolute favorite for Greek food in the area. I recently discovered it while the place I frequent was closed. Ever since, this has become my go to. Stopped off for lunch I ordered a gyro and fries, my friend ordered a Greek salad. My plate came with gyro meat and rice. There was a line at the counter so I just decided to let it go and enjoy what I was served. The rice was very bland as was the tzatziki sauce. There were 4 small wedges of pita bread on the plate, not nearly enough to make any kind of sandwich or gyro. I wasn't impressed with the rice , meat or sauce. My friend was eating her salad and found a long hair in it, so she didn't finish her meal. No one stopped by the table to check on us to see what we thought of our food. Wow. I was not expecting this! I walked in after doing a recovery session for something quick easy and relatively healthy. Greek is usually my go-to. Sorry for the unappealing photo but that's the chicken kebab pita. And holy smokes was it delicious!! The flavors bursted in my mouth and the chicken was so juicy and cooked perfectly. The pita was soft and tasty and all of the flavors balanced out so well. I could tell this was authentic Greek (I've traveled to Greece many times) and this was right on par. This is a small hole in the wall Greek restaurant. Not much seating. The order taking was quick but kind of cold taking the order. Getting the food was slow. It looked like there were a lot of take out orders before me. This was all before 10:50 am. The salmon pita was good but messy . They give you a lot of salmon. My wife didn't finish the Philly steak pita. French fries were good with the salmon combs. The Greek salad was great.The desert was baklava is was real good.
