We got our meal to go and ate at home. It was just so-so. My husband liked his chicken fajita burrito. I ordered the combo meal with a beef enchilada and a chicken chimichanga. The enchilada was fairly dry and needed more sauce. The shredded chicken in my chimichanga was very freezer burned :( it was noticeable by both taste and smell. I kept trying to hide the flavor by adding sauces and pickled jalapeños, but it was too much for me. Also the tortilla didn't seem fried at all..? It seemed almost like a tamale, it was doughy..? I ended up throwing half of it away because neither of us could get past the freezer burned taste. Bummer. Fyi-they charge for to go chips and salsa. Parkland Mazatlan review. Happy hour was dead, some reasons: the happy hour menu has changed again. The road side tacos are completely gone now, the first time the special salsa was discontinued, and they were served dry. Now, in their place you can order fish tacos with a wee bit of coleslaw topped with a seemingly bottled chipotle ranch dressing in cold tortillas. Not a good replacement, they taste and look like they could be served at McDonalds! Makes one wonder who is doing their cooking? Their salsa for the chips is too hot for the average diner; when asked for mild, they bring enchilada sauce. The chicken taquitos could use some seasoning, the quesadillas have very little veggies in the cheese. Their ground beef tacos are greasy! Drain the meat folks, you're ruining your customers clothing. Also the cheese is sprinkled over several tacos that is barely the amount enough for one taco. Again, prices have gone up another $1 and the meat on the Mexican pizzas has become less by half. Usually, country music is blaring or Mexican Polka music. Honestly, either old school Mariachi or modern trendy Mexican music would be so much better! Their bathroom is always cold, the lowered ceiling always open and the first toilet in the women's is always "not working". You can still get a great beer on tap or in bottle there at a reasonable happy hour price. One of the favorite meals Carne Asada has gone up 20% in price and the servings of rice, beans and meat have decreased by 33% not a good value. It has become more difficult to continue to be a loyal customer, time to check out the competition! read more

After taking our order, we had to waive our server down anytime we wanted anything and after my partner was done with her drink and slurping on it for about 30 minutes our server finally came back over to ask if she would like another one, which she did want another one 30 minutes ago but we had both been done with our food and our drinks for quite a while and then when the server finally brought the bill I took another 15 minutes to pay the bill because I finally just took it up to the front to pay it! just recently we had business meeting at the restaurant. We were told tables would be set up and ready to go when we arrived. Upon arriving at restaurant the hostess had no idea what we were talking about. Finally the manager we assume, who had very little idea what was going on, directed staff set up the tables. The basket of chips must have been fried in old dirty oil. There taste was not good and all! There was over 18 people in attendance spending an average of $12 per plate for food that was so so. I always drive by this place on the way home from work and it is very busy. Finally stopped by last night and tried it out. The food is pretty good but the prices seem very high for Mexican fare. Not a great value but the food is pretty good. Lots of choices on the menu. My wife got the Chimichanga and it was very good. I enjoyed the Chili Colorado as well but have had better at other places. They serve Pepsi here instead of Coke which is simply unamerican. read more

I believe the review saying this is also known as Puerta Vallarta is mistaken. Two very different restaurants. We love this one, Mazatlan, down by the new Safeway. Puerta Vallarta is down by the mall. (and not as good). At Mazatlan, make sure you get a helping of their rice. Of course, it comes with most plates, but not all. I haven't had anything I haven't liked yet. We've moved out of state. But each time we visit, this is a must on our list of places to eat. read more

The food is great on Monday. They have a special happy hour in the bar. My group of workout friends go there each Monday for the special. However, the service is very slow with a different serving staff each time we go in. The bar was completely empty last Monday and the waitress rarely came by to check on us.
