My family and I decided to try brochette on a whim as I'd seen it on yelp and DoorDash for a little while now. We came in and the place was clean and pretty quiet. The server got us sat right away and was friendly. We decide to share a bunch of plates including the pan seared baos, different stuffed rice balls, stuffed scallion pancakes, fried wontons, cucumber salad, purple yam chips, chicken & corn dumplings and Mongolian beef potstickers The pan seared baos and the stuffed scallion pancakes were our absolute favorites. The baos were crispy, rich and juicy. The stuffed scallion pancakes were like tacos with the flakiest and most satisfyingly chewy taco shell. The meat inside was well seasoned and tender. These two dishes in particular are going to be must orders anytime I return. The cheesy kimchi rice balls and purple yam chips were both hits at the table as well. The chips they have made and come out in no time so you can start snacking right away. The rice balls were nice and crispy on the outside than soft and gooey on the inside. They had that bright kimchi flavor. The cucumber salad was good too, the main flavor of them was cilantro so if you don't like cilantro then you should skip it. The fried wontons were standard but satisfying. They did their job. Finally the chicken and corn dumplings and the Mongolian beef dumplings were the weakest of what we ordered. They got mixed reviews from the table. Consensus was that both were pretty bland overall and didn't compare to the other dishes we enjoyed so much. As far as the food there was a lot to love and a couple dishes we'd switch out for something else next time. But we also don't go in expecting to love every dish and are happy to have gotten so many dishes that we do love. We were surprised that we were allowed to bring our pooch in with us, though I wasn't thrilled to have her lying on the floor, since it actually seemed dirtier than if she were lying on the ground outside. I think everything inside could use a good, deep clean. We ordered quite a lot, ranging from dumplings to skewers and most things were tasty and done pretty well. The standouts were the pork belly skewers, which had the PERFECT amount of crispy char and fat, and the okra skewers. I would come back just for those skewers alone, though they're extraordinarily pricey for the amount of food you get (so maybe I won't, and I'll just go get k-bbq instead!). Sheng jian bao were good, but I think these are the frozen type. They were identical to the ones that are served at a dumpling restaurant near SF state, which I only just now realized has been rebranded to Brochette as well. They used to be better (at the place in SF) - the dough was thinner and lighter, so whichever frozen brand this restaurant group has changed over to is just... less good. We ordered the green tea cheesecake for dessert and it felt like we were robbed. It was a piece that was about an inch and a half at its widest point and had a Hershey's chocolate sauce drizzle on it. The cheesecake itself was ok, but the chocolate sauce tasted cheap and was unnecessary. It also overpowered the delicate taste of green tea. Since it was a weekday, it wasn't very crowded, and they kindly let us set our gifts by the counter so we had plenty of space to eat and enjoy the meal. This place is a gem! The food was absolutely delicious! Located on Main Street (basically) in downtown RWC. Parking can be tricky, especially on a weekend. The library parking or the public parking behind Milagros is the closest. We came in during the holiday month, and they had super cute decorations and a beautiful Christmas tree. It was not busy at all when we came and the service was prompt and super welcoming. The only feedback is that the food took quite a bit, which the server kindly apologized for. The Gyudon is a good, reliable dish to have. The wontons in chili oil is my husband/FIL's favorite. Husband says it's the best he's had across the country! I liked the hamachi carpaccio a lot! This was my first time checking this place out, and the ambiance was nice with a slightly more modern slightly upscale-feel style decor although there was also a lot of cutesy artwork featuring Totoro, so was an interesting vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive. We ended up ordering cucumbers, wonton in chili oil, xiao long bao, pan fried pork buns, cabbage & pork potstickers, chicken karaage, and a bulgogi grilled rice ball (yaki onigiri). Worst of all, we got severe food poisoning from their dollar oysters; we actually reported the incident to the local health agency and we found out recently there is an oyster recall. I didn't take the food poisoning into account for the yelp rating, rather it simply reflects the average, sometimes bland food. We were able to take advantage of their happy hour menu which helped with the cost. The best item is the ribeye steak, flavorful and comes on a hot plate so you can adjust steak to your own preference. The ramen was also decent. The chicken meatballs were dry. The skewers were average on average. The vegetable dumplings were very bland with very thick skin. The corn skewer was dry and had zero flavor. The servers were friendly and menu is fairly large. The good: this place is clean (bathrooms too) and decent. The vibe is somewhat like an izakaya. Waiters and waitresses are polite and nice. The bad: not a value pick. I read some negative reviews of its dim sums so I avoided those and went for mostly Japanese items. Some of the items we ordered weren't bad per se (but not great): the beef tongue for example was ok. But all of the items were overpriced for their portions. The hamachi carpaccio has five really thin slices for $17 (and not flavorful). The lamb chop has 3 tiny pieces with little meat for $16 and tastes bitter. The pork bone ramen has ridiculously little noodles and comes with a really big bowl of soup that makes it look like good portion. The bulgogi rice ball is burnt. I can go on and on. Overall I will give this place a 2-star for its environment and service and mediocre food. There are many other places with better food and lower price. I just found my new favorite place for dumplings by my house. The food is great and the service was excellent. The happy hour is pretty good too. The squid was one of my favorites dishes. The place Is small and cute . Definitely coming back soon ! read more

The restaurant is clean and was prepared for our reservation for a party of 14. The lunch menu offers the best value and has a variety of options including ramen. My husband ordered the skewers and thought they were so-so. The ramen and dumplings were okay. The waiters were patient and accommodating. read more

Found this place on yelp as it was open at 4:30pm. Definitely a weird time to eat and when we arrived the restaurant was empty. Coincidentally, it happened to be happy hour. The happy hour is 20% off appetizers, $1 oysters, and a small deal on certain alcoholic drinks. Some of the items on the happy hour menu is just standard pricing so a bit deceiving. I found the portions to be okay but a bit on the small side, especially considering the price. Even with 20% off, it was definitely still on the higher end. The green onion pancake was just a single pancake that was pretty oily. Meh not something I would order again. The chili oil won tons were not bad. It was pretty average. The cold ramen was pretty good. It was a bit hard to mix the seaweed since it clumped up after mixing. But probably one of the better dish of the day. Takoyaki is pretty standard. More worth the price compared to the other items. The oysters were definitely great. It was easier to eat with a spoon and the mix of lemon and sauce was perfect. read more

Brochette Dumpling & Grill is a modern, stylish restaurant. Mostly street parking only. We stopped in close to closing time but she was patient, nice, and friendly and did not rush us. We ordered just before the kitchen closed. The place is small with inside dining only. It can accommodate a couple of large groups...maybe. Ideal for smaller groups. We ordered a couple of noodle soups. Pork Bone Broth Noodle (Ramen): with bean sprouts, sliced pork, corn, mushrooms, egg, green onions, & roasted seaweed. Decent broth, smooth and not oily heavy. The egg was perfect! It's what you would expect. Spicy Black Garlic Miso Broth Noodle (ramen): with bean sprouts, sliced pork, corn, mushrooms, quail eggs, green onions, & roasted seaweed. Ok, this is spicy for non-spicy food eaters. The broth was decent, but not like black garlic I am used to. The noodles were reminiscent of Chinese egg noodles. Some of the dim sum seemed pricey for the amount of items in an order. Overall, 3.5 stars. The Service put them over. Come check them out. read more
