I'll Start with this: I am in California and I looked far and wide for a reputable SR20 Engine Builder. I got quotes from High End Shops here in California to do my Stroked SR20 Engine Build and was met with astronomical quotes. And I was supplying 90% of the parts! So I started looking out of state and ran across a company called Mazworx that I have heard of before in the race car magazines and forums. They are located in Orlando Florida and serve people all over the world even as far as Australia. So my first phone contact was rough probably due to the sales guy's inexperience and the shop being super busy and getting all kinds of tire kickers and questions by the hundreds on a daily basis. First talked to a Sales person named Eric, he was tricky to deal with but finally, after hashing out the details back and forth a couple times, he got me a quote I could appreciate. It was WAY less than the "Fancy Schmancy" high end shops here in California. Mazworx are experts at building monster SR20 engines and have a proven record at the race track. So since they are experts with my particular engine set, I went with Mazworx. They also did not have to send anything out. All of the parts, machining, assembly, inspection and shipping are all in-house! Second I started dealing with Alex in Customer service. He was very helpful and eager to please. He kept me informed on the progress of my engine build as much as possible and even took pictures along the way for me to document this event. Communication was good and when he had questions he did not hesitate to contact me and was prompt with replies to my questions as well. He even helped out with the component planning and procurement which saved me a bunch of time. When it was time to pack up and ship out my motor and settle up, it was very stream lined like they have done it thousands of times. The packaging and crating job was professional and second to none. They even added a personal touch to my project with the whole crew signing and adding positive comments onto the shrink wrap around my motor before they crated it up. I was very Impressed. In the end, Mazworx built me a monster 2.3 liter SR20DET Longblock possible of 900hp with the right setup! I also did some follow up business with Mazworx and came into contact with Will, Richard and Mark who is the founder of Mazworx. Will was very helpful and cool for getting me in contact with the right person for my questions. Rich so easy to work with and you could tell he is a decision maker and gets the job done. He knew his job and it showed. He was very clear in his answers and even made decisions that showed he is a company man that wanted a happy customer that would get Mazworx allot of positive exposure in the Performance Automotive scene. Over all, I believe this shop to be a happy shop and when you have happy employees, you get great service and even greater results. OMG. I started this review September 2014 and forgot all about it! I guess this is a good thing because I can give a fair update on this wonderful shop. I shipped my motor to them all the way from California. The shop has a huge reputation for putting out some of the worlds greatest SR's amongst other platforms. I initially worked with one of the staff named Eric. We got the motor all setup but in the end I had an issue with my valve cover leaking oil where we put the bungs in. I emailed him back and someone replied and told me he no longer worked there. The person who replied ended up being the owner, Mark. He took great care of me and looked over the details of my account. Knew exactly what I purchased and took great care of me. Mark not only took care of the valve cover issue but to save me the trouble he had one on hand, welded the bungs I needed, powder coated it and send it out to me, FREE OF CHARGE. Now that's taking care of the customer! Now that a year has passed I can say this motor kicks ass. I purchased a SR22 setup fully built. The head was also fully built w/ tomei stage 3 cams. I destroy the V8s (and a v10 viper or two) on the road and definitely haven't had problem with other 4 cylinder cars on the road. The engine is such a beast. I've never been happier and this engine is holding up great. Only regret I have is not coming to them a lot sooner. I had to blow 3 motors at other shops before finally sucking it up and taking it to MazWorx. Just spend the money once and go with the best. Hands down. read more

I contacted Maz as a true believer in them and their history. When I first contacted Sales (M.S.) dept. at Maz around the 20th of march I informed them that I would be needing a kit made for a S15 Sr20Det and I would like to retain my S15 Supercoppermix Flywheel/clutch and pressure plate. I was assured that the kit would work for my S15 setup and I would be able to use my S15 pressure plate and flywheel (s15 flywheel is dual mass) multiple times. I informed them that this kit alone was around 2 grand and I didn't want to downgrade to another pressure plate and flywheel as I couldn't afford another comparable setup, nothing beats that nismo. A email thread was started with the sales department asking questions pertaining to fitment and use of my current components months before purchase was made. A down payment was made and once again I spoke to Sales and was assured that everything was going to work with My dual mass flywheel and pressure plate from my s15sr. I was told everything would bolt right up. Kit arrives Wednesday July 20th with the machined bellhousing. All bolts were out of the packaging and floating in the bellhousing. Mechanic preps the transmission, and puts bellhousing back on. When trying to spline the transmission to the engine, it wont go the last bit. Trans, flywheel, pressure plate, clutch is pulled. Sure enough the output shaft from the Z32 trans does not go through the pressed in bushing of the flywheel. Which equates to this kit is not compatible with a S15 Dual Mass Flywheel/pressure plate. To my dismay I called and although Maz accepted fault and said it was a miscommunication on their part. They now told me If I want the kit to work I will need to buy a S14 flywheel and pressure plate. THE REASON I DECIDED TO WORK WITH MAZ IS THAT THEY SAID THE KIT WOULD BOLT RIGHT UP USING MY S15 DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL AND PRESSURE PLATE. My heart sunk, I was being forced to downgrade. Not only that but hte car is expected to be at Hot August Nights as a demo vehicle for my business shooting for Hot August Nights. The bellhousing was already machined for the S14 plate kit rendering it useless if not used with their kit. ONCE AGAIN THEY DODGED THIS AND DIDNT ADDRESS IT. I asked if Maz would be willing help by providing a pressure plate or flywheel new or used to make up for the mistake as I couldnt return the kit as the bellhousing will now work with nothing but your kit. Unless Maz was going to get me another bellhousing then I was stuck with the kit. I was told they were working on a solution, a day later I was told they would not be providing a flywheel or pressure plate for the mistake nor would they be refunding part of the order. I bought a pressure plate and flywheel from a S14 the next day. So here I am out $300 to the mechanic in extra time and $400 for the flywheel and pressure plate. I understand miscommunications but this is not a simple case of that. This is multiple miscommunications via email and phone with sales department.
