There is a stand in the promenade for gyros and that is where you order them. I love that they have actual dishes on display so you can get a visual of what you're ordering. Seems family owned which to me is always a good sign. You can kind of get a peek of their ingredients since the cooking area is a bit open and it's very reassuring to see all their ingredients look fresh. The service was very quick and friendly for how crowded it was. The greek nachos were fabulous. They were loaded with ingredients too so you get your moneys worth! Whatever the white sauce is on top was my favorite part. I don't think it was tzatziki because there was tzatziki on the side? But I could be wrong. I will absolutely be back for these. Such a refreshing, yet indulgent dish. The only reason I gave four stars is because my wife ordered chicken fingers and pierogis at the place across from the gyro location and I really didn't think a bad chicken finger existed before this place. They were out of all their dipping sauces and it was only 6pm. The chicken fingers were a serious mystery. They were basically hollow which was just confusing. Some parts had meat and some parts were just a fried coating. The pierogis were so fried that they were a bit dry and hard to chew. I don't think I'd return to this place in particular. I've heard great things about the pizza in the promenade but haven't tried it so maybe I'll grab a slice the next time I go back for the Greek nachos!

As the name implies, Akroteria is indeed a small outside food court, located on Beach Ave (between…read morePerry & Jackson Streets) just across from the Cape May beaches. Walk up, and you'll be greeted by a sign (pic: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/akroteria-outdoor-food-court-cape-may?userid=evRwCG9m-lwfL5TeCwrAhg#VemnJpIJ4V3jIlEuxOoLcg) presenting a quick overview of the various foods you can purchase, but with a quick turn of the head, you can see all the stands yourself. As mentioned before, the space is very small (think flea market / small street fair) with temporary-ish looking booths that could easily be mistaken for backyard utility sheds (pic: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/akroteria-outdoor-food-court-cape-may?userid=evRwCG9m-lwfL5TeCwrAhg#LhfH2wWqcOQtRD-F78cqQQ). There's room for seating for about 20-30 patrons in the center of the semicircular arranged food booths. I could imagine that during the peak summer, all the booths would be open, but on our visit, "Steaks 'Up" was the only concession open in the Akroteria Food Court. Steaks 'Up offers a diverse menu ranging from Philly cheesesteaks, to hot dogs & burgers, to tacos and quesadillas. There are loads of variants to choose from, including the Border 'Dawg (hot peppers, onions, crushed tortillas, and melted queso), or the Mondo cheeseteak (a traditional with added sweet peppers and mushrooms). We were hungry, and ended up ordering two "loaded" dogs, a chicken quesadilla, two-pack of beef tacos, and a footlong specialty cheesesteak. Portions for all were generous (especially the cheesesteak!) and prices were very reasonable; $3 for the dogs, $8 for the cheesesteak, and $3.50 for two loaded soft-shell beef tacos. Although we didn't patronize the other booths, they ranged from fruit smoothies to pizzas, to falafel offerings, and I could imagine they'd be priced similarly. For a quick pre/post beach bite, I'd definitely recommend a visit here!
