I'm a sucker for a good Philly Cheesesteak & I'm notorious for venturing into Philadelphia to visit all of the places that I've heard had the best Cheesesteak so I think that makes me pretty qualified on this topic. We rented a beach house for the week, in Delaware, and somehow, some way, I got it in my head that I wanted a delicious steak sandwich & began searching Yelp for the spot that had the best in town. A bunch of establishments popped up, but there was something about Nick's that caught my eye. Maybe it's because of the reviews - fairly all were good. Maybe it's bc the location isn't some brand new, shiny facility with fine dining style cheesesteaks... no, I wanted the real thing, the real experience, and after visiting 'The Real Thing' in Towson, MD and loving their cheesesteaks better than Pats, Genos, Tony Lukes and John's Roast Pork in Philly, I have come to believe that I don't have to travel that far to get my fix. A lot of customers who left reviews mentioned Nick's customer service, and while there was nothing bad about my experience, nothing wow'd me customer service wise. That's about the only bad thing I can say, bc the cheesesteak was top 5. Hell, maybe even top 3. The ribeye melted in your mouth. The portion was plentiful, and the cheese whiz - made in house - paired really well with the perfectly cooked steak. The fries were good too, but I'm telling you, this sandwich checked all the marks, and will be visited again.

I frequent Philadelphia all the time and people are so confused when say the best Philly cheesesteak isn't in Philly!! It's actually in Delaware at Nick's

We got Gyros and cheese fries and salads from here and to be honest it was so good and the perfect portion sized I'm full and happy.

The manager brought us menus and explained again they were short staffed and the server would be over. As busy as the server was, she offered suggestions on drinks and food. The burgers, wings and tacos were all good. My friend thought the tacos were a little spicy so the server brought her more lime creme. It's your typical pub with tvs a bar and some very comfortable sitting against the wall. All staff was very friendly and I was very impressed with our very overworked server. That smile never left her face. The manager stopped by a few times also which was also nice!

Our waitress was good, the food and drinks were decent, it was crowded & hectic because of the game and my husband had previously asked 2 waitresses if they could get 2 of the tvs in front of us changed to the World Cup game. They said they would and after 20 minutes and the game having started, but the 2 tvs hadn't been changed. My husband asked another waitress if we could talk to the manager about the TVs getting changed. A few minutes later the manager came storming out, and asked in a very rude and aggressive tone of voice,"who's got a problem with the tvs?!" My husband started to try to ask about if it was possible to change the tv and he began yelling loudly and aggressively at my husband, in front of the entire restaurant that he would not change the tvs and wrongly accused my husband of yelling at his staff. My husband tried to talk calmly to this man, but he just yelled louder. Our entire table was somewhat traumatized and shocked by how verbally abusive this man was to my husband. My husband even stood up as the manager was yelling because he thought that this man was going to take a swing at him. This man should not have a job in customer service or management. I understand that it was a busy and hectic night but there is no excuse for being verbally abusive to your customers. My husband also tried to talk to the manager about 15 minutes later about the incident in hopes that he would be calmer and to clarify that he wasn't yelling at his staff, but the manager refused to speak to him, stating he was too busy. We have frequented this restaurant and brought large parties there in the past but as long as this manger continues to be employed at this restaurant we will no longer be attending, nor can we recommend it to anyone. As locals who live here full time and want to support local restaurants we are saddened to say this- but this manager ruined our night and left us with a very bad memory and taste in our mouths that we don't want to repeat. We would appreciate the opportunity to talk to the owner directly about this incident.

We ordered our food for delivery. We are visiting from St Augustine FL and might be our last time…read more Someone suggested we try out this Deli. Service was to the T. Our subs were made according to how we wanted them. The bread is fresh. The kind of bread we miss down south and which we got used to for living in Upstate NY for more than 40 years. We cannot say anything about the ambiance since we had our order delivered. They are generous with the meat for all our subs. My husband couldn't wait to have the photo taken of his 12" sub. This place is definitely worth trying out if you are looking for some delicious deli subs or a must return to place if you are in the area. Support local!

I ordered a turkey breast and my partner the turkey stuffer (Thanksgiving in a sandwich)…read more The good news is that there is plenty of meat in the huge sandwich they call a "small," and my partner said the insides of the stuffer were good. The bad news is that the bread, although it appears to be fresh, is thick, tasteless and hard. I ate half of my sandwich, chewing and tearing at the bread. I asked for extra condiments (mustard and vinegar), but the bread remained hard and overly-chewy. For the second half, I ate the insides of the sandwich (turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion and sweet peppers) and threw the bread away. All of it. My partner took half of their sandwich to-go and plans to skip the bread when they finish it later. A sub shop should have excellent bread. Or at least decent bread. This is neither. I would give the place 4 - or even 5 - stars for the nice size sandwich, but the bread was really a problem for me. The place is clean and comfortable. There's a soda dispenser with free refills.

Hands down the BEST meatball sub I've ever had, and that's saying a lot! When you stop in, say Hi to Colin. He's not just an amazing person but a great ambassador for Louie's. The service was fast, made to order, came out hot & fresh. The vibe is family friendly, unpretentious and authentic. Did I mention they've been in business 52 years?! The quality of the food and the friendly, helpful vibe is clearly a testament of their longevity and commitment to excellence. Thank you to all the staff and especially Colin for making my first visit to Rehoboth Beach Special.

Slice & Drink Review…read more Louie's is definitely a blast from the past. The dining room is straight out of 1970, and the walk up takeout right next door, at least a few decades older. The black and whites on the walls feel right out of a 50's newsreel. I love all that historic stuff from my own childhood, so it pleased me to go back in time for a little bit. I needed a slice and diet to carry me through the late afternoon and Louie's was right in front of me when we parked near the boards at the top of Rehoboth Ave. I knew nothing about pizza at this shore, but my Jersey roots made me comfortable it would be decent. The reheat on the mushroom slice was strong enough to crisp the firm scorched crust back to life, and allowed the mozzarella to sweat and melt, while the sliced dark schrooms remained embedded in the surrounding cheese. It was a smaller than expected triangle, but the taste and texture were fine. The crust was somewhat airy with a nice crunch; the red sauce wasn't memorable. Five bites and it was gone. Four Stars for the rekindled sandy memories.
