    Crab grilled cheese

Yummy, yummy!!! I went here with some friends right after a long drive. And we were starving!! I loved that they let us sample the beers flight style. I ended up getting their sour, which was very good. To eat I got the crab grilled cheese & fries - both delicious!!! I loved it, 2 things I love crab cakes + grilled cheeses, & I can confirm together they're even better! They have unique dipping sauces- I got a queso for my fries, I left absolutely stuffed with still half my sandwich left. The service was pretty quick, & our waiter was friendly! Great place to grab a bite. There was live even music. Prices were reasonable too.

I initially had some apprehensions when I saw the big tvs showing sports, but, First State Brewing kept them at a reasonable volume. I really liked their vibe, even if I had to explain to my family multiple times what hops are, and why that's what the hanging lights looked like. We came in as a party of six, and there was something for everyone. Two people ordered the Blue Hen, so maybe consider that for your next visit.

I had a great dining experience at the bar on a Thursday night. It wasn't too crowded. The atmosphere is really chill, with great 90s alternative music. The fried deviled eggs were amazing! I will def be back to order more of them. I got a burger (2 patties) and oh man, so delicious! I rarely get burgers because I usually find them so so. This place has a great burger! The bar tenders were attentive and friendly. A nice addition to Lewes/Rehoboth dining. Will be back again with the family! They have a bunch of games that people can play too. My husband got a growler to enjoy later.

Taking over the beloved Pond, First State brings just what this space deserves. Great beer. Fun waitstaff. Great food. Open late! Big open space, inventive menu. I was in the mood for comfort food and, boy, that beer chicken hit the spot! Other half enjoyed the Cuban and really grooved on the stouts. They have a loyalty club thing, too. We'll be back!

We needed a late night bite to eat, and when everything else was closed, First State was there for us! We tried the crab Rangoon egg rolls (enough said) and their wings. Both were delicious. Ended the meal with some regionally famous strawberry pretzel dessert, which was good. As someone who grew up eating this, I would say that the pretzels were not as crispy as I was hoping, and the topping could have had more fresh strawberries, but it was still really good. Our waitress was also SO kind and friendly. We chatted with her for a while just to chat. Didn't try any of the beer, but we'll be back at some point to do so!

WOW what a pretty and spacious brewery in Rehoboth. They have more than just Beers too. As My friend got a cocktail. She said it was amazing and refreshing! I tried a beer that was good too and one I never had before. The beer tender was great and friendly and so was the hostess. Great Music was playing and a chill atmosphere! Would definitely come back here and if you are in area I highly recommend stopping in. We did not have any food though.

We had an awesome experience at First State Brewing Co.'s Rehoboth location yesterday -- this place really delivered. Overall, service was friendly and fast, the vibe was chill but upbeat, and the beer selection (as expected) looked killer! Highly recommend stopping in if you're in Rehoboth -- this isn't your average brewpub fare. They're doing things right here!!

I had the poutine and tried the autumn beer. The bartender was very nice! Would definitely come back if I'm in the area again to try some different beers

    Nachos

Stopped in for the first time this week. They had live music. Service was nice and attentive. Food was pretty pricey so we just had a drink, ordered nachos and listened for a while. We may come back for dinner another day and update.

We stopped at First State Brewing for lunch this past week and all I can say is wow!! The food, the service and overall aesthetics of the place were top tier. Our waitress, Gracie was friendly and attentive. She also gave great recommendations since we had not been here before! We had the cheese curds to start and then the OG (smash) burger! So good and by far the best cheese curds I've ever had! The manager and GM, Steve and Davey were amazing. I can't say enough good things about this place! Go and support them! You won't be sorry!

Best restaurant and food in Rehoboth Beach!

Last evening we had the pleasure of eating @ First State Brewing Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach and it was FANTASTIC! We were greeted right away and seated in the very clean, well lite, pleasant atmosphere. We were greeted by our waiter Adi and welcomed us with a wonderful greeting and from the minute we got there until we left he went above and beyond to make sure our dinner and drinks were served correctly and made sure we were taken care of professionally, correctly and always with a smile. Our meals were incredible. We ordered there signature the Kitchen Sink to share between 3 of us to start and ask for 3 plates to share, extra dressings and everything was given as asked and the salad was perfection. We all had plenty to share and was a perfect appetizer for us all to share. Than we all ordered three seperate dinners, one chicken sandwich, one goat cheeseburger sandwich & order of short rib nachos and we totally enjoyed all three dishes and still took some home to enjoy again the next day. Our dishes were all presented beautifully and the manager Sharon even help the waiter serve the dishes with a friendly smile and made sure we were all set and checked on us throughout our meal. We were very impressed with the whole atmosphere of the restaurant and really saw that the whole staff takes pride in the cleanliness of the restaurant and how well everything is taken care of. From the minute we walked in until we left eating an incredible meal we were super impressed and cannot wait to return. We are from NY and are here 2 years and can finally say we found a wonderful restaurant from here on in to go enjoy a wonderful meal. My lord I'm still talking to everyone about how delicious those meals and nachos were.

You want a big piece of fish? You're getting a big piece of fish! Look at this delicious thing! It crosses the entire plate!

Worst burger I've ever had. Dry. Tasteless. Overly expensive for the quality. A big disappointment.

A special thank you to Peter "Pan" for making our night so memorable. Not only were the cocktails delicious, but watching him craft those amazing bourbon creations was an experience in itself. We will definitely be taking an Uber next time so we can fully indulge in even more of those exceptional bourbon cocktails! Thank you for a wonderful evening. We can't wait to come back!

I only had the one I paid for. There's no need to lie, bad days happen. This is not a speakeasy, this is a restaurant cosplaying as a speakeasy. That may be a bit harsh, it's a speakeasy in training. Sure, it's got all of the speakeasy decor, blackout curtains over the windows and doors, and a big selection of pedestrian liquor but it's not quite there. We went in on an early evening on Wed and there were maybe 5 other patrons in there. Our waitress was nice and brought us water to the high top. She brought us two food menus, and a specials menu. I asked for a bourbon list and she brought it; no prices on the list. Annoying. On the specials menu there was a small section of manager recommended drinks and one was a Willet. The way it was written was confusing because it said it was both a 4 year and 14 year for $52, so I asked for clarification on the age statement. She took the menu to the barkeep, who confirmed it was a 14 year so I said yes I'll have that. A drink was brought to me, but I could tell from the taste that it was not what I ordered. I asked the waitress for the bottle, she asked the guy behind the bar for the bottle and he pulled down a willet pot still bottle (pot still is the entry level Willet and at best a 5 dollar pour, no where near what I asked for). I told her that I was given the wrong drink, then she approached the bar and between her, and the male and female bartenders they had a weird back and forth conversation. Then, finally they pulled down the bottle that I asked for, that was advertised, and gave me a pour of it. I asked to see the bottle and the waitress brought it over but held it instead of putting it on the table (it was a 13 year Willet, Paper Trail). As we were about to order we were told that they reset the menu the very day before, with the focus of putting more love and care into the food. Feeling good about that, we ordered the French quarter catfish and the bourbon braised short ribs. The corn that came with the short ribs tasted straight out of a store bought steamable pouch, and the "ribs" weren't ribs at all, just sliced meat. The only redeemable thing about the catfish dish was the aioli; the rice had no flavor, the corn was cold and hard, and the catfish was mostly breading. We both took a few bites and resigned. I have been to many speakeasies around the US, and there are common themes: a much better selection of liquor; 95% of the bourbon were low tier bottles you can find in any liquor store for around $50. Also, when customers ask for the bottle, it isn't because we plan to steal it or drink from it, its because we're genuinely interested in the information on the labels. The quickest way to get people to stop spending money is to make them feel as if they can't be trusted touching a bottle. Perhaps it was an off day for the staff and this wasn't a typical experience, but I won't go back.
