Since this guy gave me a good deal last time decided to take it to him. After inspecting he said it'll be a major repair. Which I already knew from other mechanics. It made me feel comfortable with his integrity so I got it done there instead of my normal mechanic which I trust but is located in North Hollywood. The car was stuck in Santa Clarita. Fast forward to a couple of years later and my catalytic converter needs to be replaced. AGAIN!!! I drive a lot so it wasn't that much of a shocker to me but it was to my NoHo mechanic. This time, I got the catalytic converter replaced, for the second time, at my NoHo mechanic where he bought the converter new from the dealer. He showed me the box and everything. I asked him if the converter he switched out was brand new or not. He looked at it and said there was no serial number therefore it looked like it was bought in the after market. That is really upsetting to me because after initially spending $1900, I thought I was getting a brand new part but instead I got a used part that didn't last very long. Now, I'm not saying that this place does this but with catalytic converter theft on the rise, it does raise eyebrows at where did they get this "used" catalytic converter. Either way, I am pissed that I spent nearly $2,000 grand for a used part.

Afterward, we had trouble with it pulling to the right so we took it back the next day and found that the after market steering stabilizer we'd put in years ago was not working correctly. We hadn't noticed it before because it was so lose, but once it was tightened and aligned, we could tell and so could they. They they fixed it, no charge, and now it drives like a dream! We're taking it on a cross country road trip and who knows if that steering stabilizer would have faulted out during the trip. Now, no worries. They were awesome! Highly recommended!

Fortunately, we decided we needed to stop for breakfast and as we came out to the car, my friend noticed a shadow reflection from beneath the vehicle. The whole bottom covering on the car had dropped down and was very close to the road! I decided we needed to find the nearest Nissan dealer. Got lost trying to find the Nissan dealership, and accidentally stumbled across this side street where all the businesses had wrought iron gates and fences around them. A little intimidating if you come from small town USA. We were in the process of turning around and getting back on the freeway, when I suddenly changed my mind and decided to give an auto repair business that we had just driven by, a shot. Little did we know that the bottom piece under the vehicle was already dragging onto the street! We couldn't hear it. So we pulled past the iron fences and gates, to this mechanic who also sells tires. As we drove in, the owner motioned for us to come on into the bay. We thought that was surprising, since they seemed very busy. Apparently, he could hear the scraping of the bottom of the car, as we drove in to his parking lot! Very bad situation that we had no idea was taking place with the condition of the vehicle. Fast forward 10 minutes, and the guys at this repair shop had re-attached this large plastic cover onto the bottom of my Nissan SUV and we were on our way. $30. Amazing. Honest, responsive, very pleasant and easy to deal with. This place was a Godsend for two women traveling alone in a vehicle that, had it continued up the freeway, could have caused a serious accident either to ourselves or to others with the loose piece that was scraping on the highway and about to drop off!
