Today was the 1st time I've used this salon in years, since Amy was there for those who remember her. I saw Jenny for a manicure & pedicure and she took her time and did a beautiful job but I was not happy to see only a few employees in masks, most were not. I also was surprised that I never saw anyone disinfect anything after a customer left. There is a sign posted at the entrance stating that customers should sanitize before touching all the bottles of polish also but not one person that walked in ever sanitized nor did anyone say anything, With the current upswing in Covid cases, I expected more attention to details like that. There are too many cases of people fully vaccinated testing positive for Covid to abandon these simple steps for safety. read more

Walked in for no chip. They were not busy, took me right away. Picked my color. I'm thinking great! By the time my no chip soaked in acetone the tech is using a drill to remove my polish and tearing the edge my skin of my nail bed. I told her politely that it was painful. She disregards me and continues doing the same thing. So I asked her not to use the drill and if she can just do it the other way. I have respect for nail techs. But once I told her not to use the drill. She blurts some curse word (I'm assuming) to her co-worker in her language. She speaks Kazakhstan. I really wish I knew what she said so I could throw it back at her:) anywho, If you want rude unprofessional staff who don't care about the biggest organ on your body, (your skin!!!!) AKA your epidermis or people who care to properly polish your nails then I suggest you don't go here. If you like top coat that looks like I painted it with my toes, this is your place! Bella is the manager she is nice she greeted me. But your staff are terrible and I feel bad you have to deal with their poor attitudes. Wooooowww I have never experienced such rude employees in my whole entire life first off I've been here two other times no one is nice Ever or good I usually try to not go here but my other nail place were fully booked so I walked into lemon nails knowing they were probably not busy and they took me. As I walked in the lady goes what color what you want ? I tell her just toe nails no chip white she goes ok I sit down and she starts doing my toe nails she does A horrible job and the salon chair massage doesn't even work after that I go pay she charges 5 dollars extra to remove my nail color I told her no one else charges me for that she goes well we do ok !!!! I was like wow I pay and leave I said bye thanks have. A nice day she doesn't say a anything back and she heard me too I went back and to the lady and said you guys have bad customer service here every time I told her you have to be kind . She turned red and I I noticed another customer looking I hope she doesn't come back either ! I had my nails done here on 8-23-19 for no chip nail polish and my nail tech was Asian. Well she spoke the entire time, in her language to another tech sitting next to her. This was so rude and unprofessional. Bad enough she spoke to her fellow employee the entire time she did my nails, but worst part is she spoke her native tongue. which was very rude to the paying customer, and she did speak English to me and on the phone taking mail appointments. I was also going to have a pedicure but changed my mind. I almost left her a zero tip but my husband left her 5.00 tip. Got to be honest, I was tempted to take the tip back and complain right, but I did not. So hear I am giving them a bad rating. My second time around to visit but towards the end of the day, might not have been a good timing. Regardless, customer service should not be a challenge at all, especially for an owner. She took off her face mask in front of me upon knowing that I was vaccinated though there was a glass shield on the table which was okay but managed not to take off mine. She was in a hurry doing my nails but she knew I signed up online for an appointment. She wasn't polite in her ways. Cleanliness of utensils is another question at this salon. I am not sure at all, if the tools used were sanitized at all. I say, am not going back to this salon ever. I have been going to lemon nails for a bit. I don't work and so when I schedule appointments I am never in too big of a hurry but the past few times I have had to wait while the owner ate lunch with a friend, booked an appointment that they emailed to confirm not be on their books when I have gotten there, and had several nail techs jump between me and other clientel because they have overbooked themselves. They also speak to eachother about clients when they are frustrated in their language. They need to do a better job at scheduling employees..their being overbooked and rushing leaves everyone feeling bad. read more

Ive had some bad experiences and good experiences when getting my nails done, like most people, but unfortunately this one was the worst. Ive never not tipped a nail technician but this time i didnt. Even if they cut me a little bit or made a mistake on my nails i still tip. This woman cut me four times and neglected my nails bleeding. Someone else stepped in to finish off my manicure. I went with it without complaints because i wanted to see where this was going. It wasnt until she rubbed my cuts with nail polish remover that she apologized for her coworkers mistakes. She finished off with covering everything with the nail polish. Im going to give this place the benefit of the doubt and say maybe it was just the two people i had that were having bad days or didnt know how to handle this situation. Very similar experience as some other reviews I've been reading to see if I'm the only one. I've had some good experiences and some bad, but the most horrible was when they cut my fingers. They used a cotton ball dipped in some kind of liquid to stop the bleeding, but it hurt immensely. I stopped in one day on the recommendation of a friend. They were accommodating, friendly and did a great job on my no-chip manicure, I have been back several times and the staff is consistently nice. The salon is very clean and they autoclave the instruments between clients. They offer hot tea and had the TV on to TV Land or one of those old channels, so it was a nice little break :) read more

I met Bella years ago as she had a space in the Allstate Northbrook campus. Since Allstate sold Ive started to go to Lemon Nails. I can't give Lemon Nails and Bella enough good reviews. Yes, Bella answers the phone while working...not only does she run the business, is a technician, but she's also her own front desk. It's where a lot of businesses are with the pandemic...unable to find help. So what some consider to be rude I see as a super owner doing everything they can to keep things going. Yes, do the technicians talk to each other, of course...Bella is trying to ensure the timing is right for who picks up a manicure or pedicure to try to minimize the waiting. Yes, do you have to wait...sure sometimes...but what I do is call ahead and just check in make sure the time still works. If it's a good mani pedi your looking for then yes it's worth the wait. Bella puts her heart into this business and that's what matters most to me...supporting a small business getting a service that I'm completely happy with and having the patience to understand that things may shift. 100% would recommend this place (and have to many)!! This place is amazing. I made an appointment for noon, came in was greeted and they even welcomed me with my name. They sat me down and a kind women started on my toes, she took her time, talked to me, and they looked wonderful. Next was the no chip, my manicure was so lovely, it looks gorgeous and clean. I've never had a no chip done this well, this was another area where she took her time and everything looked great. I never felt rushed once and there were many people there. Decided to give this place a try as it just opened not too far from me. It's a clean, bright, neat and organized space. They don't do acrylic nails so there's no offensive smell here. They did a very nice job on my mani and were super nice and welcoming to me. My only 'complaint' (and the reason for 4, not 5 stars) is that the pedicures are a bit steep at $35. I've been to many places where you can get a mani and pedi for that or less. However, the ladies are so nice and the space is very welcoming... I will be back... I give fair reviews, but this place disappoints. Nothing special stands out with this place. It's clean and the esthetics are neat. Great sparkly ceiling, but the manicure was nothing special for $20. Some places warm the lotion, massage your neck when done, offer you tea or coffee, have a little specialty added to make you come back. Not here. There were 5 workers in the time I was there and only one other customer. They spoke Korean the ENTIRE time, which normally doesn't bother me, but aren't they trying to impress their customers when it's a new business?? The mop right by the door? Put it away. No problem on appointments and 20% off mani pedi Monday and Tuesday. The woman doing no chip mani for my daughter was friendly, nice, talkative, etc. The woman starting my manicure...not so much. Pretty sure she didn't say a word. On to the pedicure.... I was wearing leggings and asked her to pull them up (as my nails were still wet). She pulled them half way up my calf. She didn't offer to put down the arm rest on the chair or start the massage portion. She actually seemed annoyed that I was there. No talking, etc. This wasn't my first pedicure (Lol). I watched 2 other women getting pedicures and their technicians seemed very adequate. Maybe mine was having a bad day. Not going back there. One star is a stretch for this place. They do not use clean tools, unfriendly staff, and poorly decorated salon. They wouldn't let me use an in date coupon and insisted it was expired. Not a positive experience in any way. Also, be careful because they use UV light for gel manicures...UV lights can cause cancer. Most salons use LED lights these days. Avoid this place at all costs! read more

The salon is beautiful and seems very clean. Unfortunately, the manicurists were unfriendly and spent the whole time whispering to each other. Although it's called Lemon Nails, my manicurist forgot to put the lemon in the water. She didn't even walk me over to the drying station which unfortunately was not a fan but lights. I don't like the lights. They don't dry the nails and expose me to unnecessary UVA light. When we were done, the manicurists, who had disappeared into the back to have their lunch break, didn't even bother coming out when we left. To top it off, day two and the polish is chipping. read more
