Not only that but we were being watched and followed by the lady like we were going to steal or something. We were going to keep shopping but only bought what we came for. Incredible experience…read more I can't say enough great things about this place. I've brought in four pairs of high-end denim for hemming, and every time the work was completed in under 20 minutes. The team is friendly, professional, and their prices are very reasonable. Most tailors would take a week or more, but they deliver exceptional results on the spot, using a proper chain stitch machine to preserve the original look and character of the denim. That level of craftsmanship and service is hard to find. The experience was truly above and beyond. Next time I'm in, I'll be picking up a pair of their jeans as well. March 13th is when I paid for my "extreme damage" darning service. (these holes were no bigger than a quarter btw) June 3rd is when I was notified they were being shipped back to me. 11.5 weeks for something that they say will take 6-8 weeks. After the second month came and went, I was sure I wasn't going to get my jeans back. On Friday, May 15th I received a reply to my email asking about the status of my jeans. Tawny said that Steven is hoping to get March darns finished up by Tuesday. I wrongly assumed she meant the following Tuesday, not 2 weeks later. I guess Steven didn't hope quite hard enough. At very least, they could be more realistic on their stated timeframe to expect the work being done so the customer can make the choice to wait a ridiculous amount of time or to go somewhere else with their business. To top it off I got my jeans back and they smell terrible now. They insisted the jeans be washed when I sent them in and they were, I got them back smelling like the bottom of a goodwill clothing bin. This was my second time dealing with railcar. I ordered a t shirt and apparently ordered it in the wrong size. I sent it back and got an email saying that they received the shirt and they would exchange it. After a month went by I emailed them inquiring about the status of the shirt. Tawny replied, "Steven is falling a little behind on his list of things to finish up but he scheduled himself to finish printing next week". This is a whole month after they received the other shirt. Maybe if they started working earlier than 10am they could get things done in a timely manner. I'm glad in the end I just took a refund (minus the shipping cost of course) for the t shirt because I wouldn't want to advertise such a lousy company on my clothing and inadvertently cause someone else to have to deal with them.

Tonight was a perfect example of why. I watched a manager open a register, help one customer, and then close it--even as the line kept growing to about 15 people. That left just one associate handling a long line, while another cashier was tied up helping a group with a large purchase. Instead of jumping in to help during a busy moment, the manager was on her phone, then emptying trash behind the registers and adjusting carts--completely ignoring the line of waiting customers. The only bright spot was Carlos, who was working incredibly hard and treating customers with patience and professionalism despite the situation. He deserves recognition for how he handled things. It's frustrating because TJ Maxx has great products, but the lack of customer care at this location makes it not worth the stop.

Members who have the TJX credit card are allowed to shop one hour before the store opens! We get a free gift (today - it was a cooler bag) and a chance to win a gift card! I was lucky to win one of the gift cards! Names are drawn from the box around every 20 minutes during the two-hour Member Mornings event. I'm going to another store tomorrow and enjoy it again! This El Monte location is quite spacious, clean, bright, and organized! I found a few things that I needed... after looking at the shoe, personal care, and accessories departments. I came here as I do every weekend to walk around and shop and the cashier was not only extremely slow, but she accused me of changing tags. While the cashier next to her was taking three to four customers, she was still ringing me up and inspecting every tag as if I actually did change the tags. I didn't even say anything because I go straight to corporate at that point, since I know people. Check your cameras if you are actually going to accuse people and get your facts straight. Aside, I brought my own bag and she only put certain items in my bag when I told her to just stuff it, because I did not care if they were folded or not. Because today is ten percent off day (Tuesday) for customers who are age 55 and up, I thought that I should get a new cable for my phone to connect with the rental car. My old cable is frayed and cuts off when it's in a different angle. I did look at some other departments like pet supplies and art materials, but I don't really have space in my luggage. Plus... tax in California is higher than Hawaii's 4.712 percent tax! I found a rapid charge cable for a low price... plus ten percent off... and it works great!

I accompanied someone on the hunt for khaki colored pants. I was merely browsing. I have to say the STAND OUT was the security guard all the way. He greeted us as we entered. He gave ave me a tip to use the self checkout because it's faster. I believe his name was Mitchell. They are still stocking the store and shelves were a lil on the lighter side. The store was super neat and organized. I'll definitely be back in a couple of months.
