High, high heels
Jane R.

This is the MOST EXPENSIVE thrift store I have ever stepped foot on. For a thrift store, most of the items they sell is ridiculously expensive. Some of them are probably more expensive than an actual brand new item. The place is also a big mess and stinky, so I don't even understand why everything is insanely expensive. I must say, if you like sparkly, high heels, I guess this place is for you. Look at the pictures I posted, it's a colourful line-up. Still, everything is over-priced. There's a pair that is practically brand-new, with a sticker from Ross for $12.99 on the bottom of the (see posted picture), but at the back of the shoes, you'll see their hand written price tag of $20 lol! Ridiculous! Please, save your money and DO NOT go here! Go to the Goodwill that's like 5 minutes away and it is WAYYYY Better. It's way cleaner, more organized and more than half cheaper. Check out my review and pictures from that place.

What a dirty shame... Mcalister is a medium sized thrift store that offers a typical thrift store variety: apparel, books, videotapes, records, collectibles, furniture, housewares, bric a brac, electronics, footwear, collectibles and more. The store is a mess and horribly organized and really dirty. There's food wrappers scattered throughout the store and there's a fierce stench. If the items in the store weren't so dirty, I'd definitely consider some of their home accessories; there's a ton of really old items here but they're in such horrible condition that I wouldn't ever buy them. If you can, avoid this store. You can thank me later.

5 bucks at this thrifty store. EBay it's listing at 30 bucks

The staff at this thrift store are rude. You don't need to yell at everyone to get out when you are closing.

But, it is now a place to find great bargains for clothing, shoes, household goods, office items and so on. For adults and kids. It's so clean and organized inside. And super spacious! They have new deliveries weekly. And receive donations from the public as well. The staff is super friendly and helpful. And there are even secret deals you need to ask them about. IYKYK. If you don't, just ask. Bridge Thrift is not your typical business. They are very connected with other businesses and ministries that care for the less fortunate. It's good to know that deals I find here go far. This location is one of a handful of other Bridge Thrifts in the county and even LA.

We managed to score a Patagonia shirt and a Bass Pro Shops tee for a great price! We also found the exact same Adidas powerlifting shoes that were stolen from my husband's truck years ago. They were the first thing that caught our eye when we walked in. They ended up not fitting him comfortably but it felt like a meant to be moment lol. We do wish they had a fitting room. Other than that, it's a great stop for anyone who loves thrifting. We'll definitely be back!

Recently, I drove to the La Mesa store with a car full of donations during a very heavy rainstorm. I pulled up to the marked donation drop-off door but was told I could not park there and needed to move across the lot, get a cart, and bring everything in myself. I explained that i was not parking, I am handicapped and offloading since it was pouring rain, but was still told no. I ended up leaving without donating or shopping. As a loyal supporter of FJV, I was very disappointed by the lack of understanding and outright rudness.

The quality of the items is impressive, and the store is well organized, which makes browsing enjoyable. That said, the pricing feels more like a boutique than a thrift store. While I understand that proceeds go toward a good cause, I often leave empty‑handed because the prices are just too high for what I'd expect at a thrift. For me, part of the joy of thrifting is finding something wonderful and feeling like I scored a bargain -- not like I overpaid. If you don't mind paying a lot more, you'll likely find unique and quality pieces here. But if you're hunting for that classic thrift‑store bargain, be prepared that prices may not match the typical thrifting experience.
