First visit was great the staff was super nice and helpful so I didn't mind the long wait for our take out and our order was correct and the sandwiches and sides were really good! Second time not quite as good as the first and clearly our order was rushed and a couple things missing from our take out order which was labeled "Greg" so we assumed maybe it was mixed up with someone else's by mistake but we figured they were just busy and since the first time was so good we'd give it another try... Third visit was a complete disappointment with an incorrect sandwich in our THREE item order is not ok. This place is getting worse everytime I go there. Not even worth going due to the fact that you see three people behind the counter doing nothing when someone is waiting to order their food and that person only has a half hour for lunch. One of them was a manager and he looked at me twice then turns around and tells his other employee to get off register to do nothing it seems and then ignores me in the process. No people skills what so ever and I'm surprised any of them have jobs still. When I did get my food it was cold and the containers were half filled. My first visit to (any) McAlister's Deli - great first impression. Their Grand Opening was last week. They are prepared - they appear to be fully staffed, and more importantly, the staff are well trained. Everyone was polite, friendly, informative, and helpful, and easily identifiable by the branded t-shirts and polos they wear. The restaurant itself is clean and well-organized. You enter and walk right into the queue line. There were four cashiers ready to take your order. Similar to Panera, you place your order, get your drink, find a table, and staff brings your food out when it's ready (using numbered cards which coordinate with your order). Choose to sit at a table, booth, or high table (though the latter two are in fewer supply), with most tables seating 4, though 2,4,6, & 8 seat tables are available. My order came quickly. Staff were roaming around, checking on guests, providing drink refills, clearing plates, asking about the meals. Very efficient and very prompt to offer refills when your drink is 1/3 empty. (I had four different staff members ask me if I needed a refill, before I finally agreed to one!) And btw, their brewed tea is quite tasty! Casual dining for guests of all ages - saw families with small children who got to color at their table, as well as teens, and adults of all ages in singles, couples, and groups. Menu is fairly and competitively priced.. Nothing jumped out at me as being particularly overpriced. Twice while I dined the line was backed up to the entrance and both times, it moved quite quickly! Restrooms were clearly indicated, and clean too. Aisles are on the narrow side (though a wheelchair would fit) and spacing between tables is a tad snug for my preferences - I can see coats that are hanging on chair backs easily getting stepped on, but that just means you get to know your table neighbors. :) Decor is pleasant and fairly neutral in earthy tones (brown, orange, yellow, green) with some food-related artwork. The south and east walls are banks of windows, nearly floor to ceiling, which makes me wonder how bright & sunny it gets in here in the mornings into the sun passes overhead (I don't see blinds or string tinting on the windows). There were many things on the menu I saw that I wanted to try, so I'll definitely be back! It's exciting to have a deli with tasty food in the area, so Panera isn't the only option anymore. 5 stars after my first visit. Hopefully there won't be reason to change that rating in the future. read more

I've been here no less that 20 times since they opened. Clearly I'm a fan. The food is really good. The potatoes are huge and definitely serve as a meal. Same with the salads. I've had the Potatoe Ole, the McAlister's Club, the chicken club, the Spicy SW Chicken, the sweet Chipotle Chicken, the Southwest Cobb Salad, and the Savannah Chopped Salad. ALL very good. My only disappointment food wise was the Orange Cranberry Club. That sauce is REALLY sweet and there was way too much on the sandwich. It overpowered everything. Sides are good, and they have some really good desserts - the standard "Big cookie" in several varieties, Carrot Cake, Cheesecake, Fudge Brownie. I also have to mention one big kudos to McAlisters in general. Thank you for not putting a "Tip:" line on all your receipts. They don't accept tips. I get so tired of walkup counters where you order and pick up food and they expect a tip (sandwich shops, ice cream shops, taco stands, etc). Clearly the restaurant industry has taken this way too far. McAlisters is a breath of fresh air in this respect. Oh, and they bring your food to you AND refill your drinks. The service is excellent.. most the time. The curbside needs attention. When you drive up the sign says to "...wait here, your food will be right out". I've had to go inside several times to alert them that I was there. They need some sort of sensor to alert them when cars drive up. The second issue here is that they have a lot of high school aged kids working here, and they are great, when management is watching. Right at opening or during very slow times, when management isn't present out front, its a different story. They huddle up and just start talking and don't pay attention to the customers. This is just kids being kids but still, maybe they should have more older employees. I know when I was 16, I wasn't too concerned with customer service. ;) Overall, this place is a welcome addition to the area. It kind of reminds me of Jason's Deli if you're familiar. This place is definitely overpriced for the quality/quantity of food. They charge $10 for a potato with a very skimpy sprinkle of cheese and very little lunch meat on top? Yikes. They forgot my sour cream as well, I had to go back up and ask for it. I would have been better off to go to Wendy's and get a $1.50 loaded baked potato or enjoy a fresh meal at Panera. My tortilla soup had two giant chunks of a goopy seasoning in it as well...almost like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot. The flavor was good besides having to eat with caution/in disgust. I used to live in the south, and enjoyed going To McAlister's...I assumed this franchise would be the same but I was mistaken. I won't make that mistake again on going back. Also as we were leaving, they were mopping the floors all around the exit...the floors were soaked!...I slipped but fortunately didn't fall over. Sandwich was delivered to my table on a hard plastic square plate that certainly needed a better washing as there was dried food and what looked like a greasy grime dried on it So they bring me a new plate. Although the food is good, the curbside service is crap!!! Placed a curbside order on 1.5.2020 and the pickup time was 1:30 pm. Pulled up and waited. Nothing happening. Waited some more. Nothing. At 1:42 went inside and flagged a girl at counter and told her that I had a curbside order and that I had been waiting a while. Her response was that they were "busy." I replied, "even so, you still need to wait on your curbside customers." Needless to say, when I got my food it was cold. Management needs to be better in scheduling someone to work the inside as well as the curbside. It is not that difficult!!! First time I came here, I placed my order online and they "never received it" even though I had my email confirmation. Waited 30 mins for them to make it, then they forgot numerous things in our 2-item order. We decided to give this place another try, called and asked if they received the order so we didn't repeat the same issue. That was fine. Really enjoyed the food but so disappointed in the "customer service". My daughter, who is 9, ordered the children's baked potato and asked for a side salad with that. They said they couldn't do that and showed us a list of the kids sides. Number 1 this is confusing because the menu just says to look at the sides for the side options... The kids sides are not listed on the menu on the wall or the printed menu, it was a separate list they had behind the counter. So bizarre. Number 2 the woman taking our order was very nice but said she didn't think she could do a side salad for kids. Then another woman came, who I can only assume was the manager, and she was super rude. Her only solution was to order the pick two adult meal which is closed to $10, instead of the $2.99 kids meal! Number 3 why would a salad not be an option for a child's side? I went to McAlister's for the first this week and was pleasantly surprised. We have been in need of a place like this in the area! The restaurant is very clean and contemporary with a full service crew. Every team member was professional and courteous. Many menu items to choose from and portions are more than ample. We had to wait a little longer then expected for our food so they offered cookies for the inconvenience! Wasn't necessary, but WOW! My brother had the New Yorker which was fresh and filling. I had the BLTA combo with the Italian chopped side salad, very light on the Bacon, but the side salad was huge. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star? The food was a little bland, they need to be a bit more generous with their sauces and seasonings. This was my first visit, definitely wont be my last! read more
