Overall the location is not busy at all and they take care of you right away. I tried the pick two and had a cup of country potato soup with only one package of crackers ( at least that is what was given to me), and the ham & cheese melt sandwich which they forgot to add my tomatoes that I requested. They only add one slice of ham on your half sandwich. If you are truly hungry maybe you have to ask for double meat but I am not sure if they have this option. When you first enter the parking lot you see the outdoor dining area. There is lots of indoor seating... Booths, low tables ( a combination of both) and High tables too. There are a lot of food options on the menu. We split the King Club sandwich on white bread with a side of potato salad. It was excellent. Fresh and delicious! We downloaded the reward app and received a free large iced tea. We picked the unsweetened one and it was delicious and not bitter at all. Glad I tried the iced tea because honestly I would have never order it on my own. It was so good that I may actually order it again. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

This is my second review. My first review was horrible. My husband and I went back and I had a baked potato "with lots of butter". The potato is as big as a 3 year old's head! The order taker came around to see how we doing. I had plenty of butter , especially for the size of the potato! It was hot and delicious! I'm 69 and many of us don't eat as much as we used to. I haven't been there in years because of it and finally when I decide to try it again, I get a sandwich with bad produce. Second try and this time I got the chicken salad sandwich. I love chicken salad but didn't care for theirs. Mayo especially was blah and the tomato was under ripe. The chicken salad I make at home is far superior so why would I pay $9 for theirs? I saw an add for the Honey BBQ Nachos on Facebook and they looked so delicious I had to try them. Showed them to my husband and he agreed, so off we went. The portion size filled a full take home container. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the pork was. Wished that there was more of it on the nachos. Also wished I had thought to tell them to not include the olives. We ordered a kids sandwich for our toddler. Adam ate half his sandwich bb and pronounced it "Very good." Julio Valeriano is the manager I assume. We had issues a couple of years ago so we stayed away. But food is good. So we took another chance. When you go in restaurants they tend to make it right. Delivery ?? They blow it off with sub standard food quality. We paid for extra meat. Didn't get it before or now. He blew it off with an oops and come in for a piece of cake. Guess what Julio. I always love eating at McAlister's! Unfortunately we had both good and bad experiences on our last visit. The good of course was the food. Its always fantastic! My wife had her usual French Dip pick two. She had the French Dip, Black Angus roast beef and swiss on a baguette, served au jus along with her favorite soup broccoli and cheddar. Cheddar and Monterrey Jack Cheese mixed with chunks of Broccoli in a creamy base made from chicken broth. As always it was delicious! I had my new go to item. The Jalapeno Crunch with mac n cheese for the side. I have had this on the last two or three visits. Jalapeño Turkey Crunch 1040 cal. Smoked turkey, jalapeño spud chips, bacon, pepper jack, avocado and mayo on toasted jalapeño roll. They have a Savory and Spicy selection and they are all great! This sandwich is delicious every time! OK, I said good and bad. So there were two bad's. One is that they now charge you $1.00 for what was once their free pickle spear. The other bad was that the food was ice cold. We picked it up at the scheduled time but apparently they completed it early and just left it out to get cold waiting for pick up. I was in the area and decided to check this place out. I had heard about it so.... Anyway, it was not busy at all. The "Manager" and two other younger girls were behind the counter and the Manager and the one girl were having a discussion while the other girl helped me. I let her know it was my first time here and I asked for her suggestions. She offered and I tried the spicy Turkey with avocado and the veggie potato. She was kind and pleasant and helpful. It was a to go order and when I got it home, realized that a cold deli sandwich was packaged with a hot baked potato????? Not the best idea..... I think someone made the wrong decision here. A cold item and hot item should never be put in the same container.... Duh!?? Also that potato was cooked beyond belief. It was dry!!! The sandwich was not that great because it became hot!! But the avocado was perfect to be put on a sandwich. I hate unripened avocados on sandwiches like one of your big competitors does all the time!!! So overall, I thought the customer service was great although I didn't greeted off the bat upon me walking in either , it was definitely made up by the young lady who waited on me. Wish I got her name. She was very helpful and polite. Much more than her Manager on duty and the fact that they box cold and hot together doesn't make sense! Good solid food! I ordered the club sandwich with steamed broccoli as my side. I ordered the sandwich dry, with no Mayo since I knew I would save half of this entree for another meal tomorrow. The broccoli was perfectly steamed. The club sandwich was good, but a little on the dry side. I know that I ordered no condiments on it but the toasted bread tasted a tad old. I thought that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the other half of the meal the next day if I did order Mayo on it because it might be too soggy. What a disappointment. Ordered a Reuben to go, thinking that since it has "deli" in its name McAllisters would know how to make a proper Reuben Sandwich. What I got was a sandwich with 1) tons of unflavored meat, that was 2) not grilled. We usually order from the McAlister's in Algonquin but we were in Bloomingdale visiting my son and his wife and my adorable grandson when we decided we all needed McAlister's. I placed the order on my app and sent my husband and son to pick up our dinner. We had a total of 6 sandwiches (with sides) a couple extra sides and several drinks. I live like 10 min away from this place and I can't believe I had not checked them out. My girlfriend suggested this place for dinner. My mouth is watery as I think of the menu. It was so hard to make a choice since everything sounded fantastic. It's not just soups and sandwiches, they also have spuds, salads, nachos and mac and cheese. Their menu is huge! I went with the verde chicken, it's a salsa verde seasoned grilled chicken sandwich, topped with pepper jack cheese, red onions, tomatoes, spring mix and mayo on a Jalapeño Roll. It was very good!! I also got a bowl of their broccoli and cheese soup. On a cold winters day this meal hit the spot. My friend had two coupons and they let us use both so this was a very affordable dinner. McAlister's sandwiches and soups are pretty awesome :) I've done the rueban which was excellent (really big), my boyfriend gets the New Yorker every time because he loves it, aand today I tried the spicy turkey melt with cream of mushroom soup. The soup at McAlister's is better than Panera's. It's so thick and delicious I've never had a bad soup there. My bf got Mac and cheese for the first time there and it was really good:) I've never had the nachos or spuds or salads but I know you can never go wrong with a sandwich, soup, sweet tea, or Mac and cheese. The sandwiches were huge and very fresh/tasty and we ended up having too much food which is great because the price was very reasonable. I went to a bbq over the weekend and a friend raved about McAlister's, she said it was a chain that she use to go to all the time in southern IL. She convinced me, so I went. I walked in and looked at the menu, I was going to do the pick two but a veggie pita sandwich caught my eye. The Veggie came with lettuce, grilled peppers,cucumber, tomatoes, cheese and a side of ranch. It also came with a side, i picked mac and cheese. The Veggie: 9/10 times I hate peppers. I didnt see that this came with peppers, I was disappointed at first, but after biting into it I liked it and ate them all! Next time I would add more cucumbers. Mac and Cheese: Yes please! It was so creamy and cheesy I could have easily ate this as a meal. It tasted homemade, it was my favorite part of my meal. My boyfriend ordered the Italian he really enjoyed it (I didnt try it), he said it was generous on the meat portions abd loved the flavor. I did try his coleslaw and found it to be zesty, not like your typically slaw which usually just taste like mayo. I plan on coming back and trying the pick two! We love McAlister's Deli! We got hooked on our first visit to a store in Wyoming while traveling. So excited when we saw them come to our home state! We love soups and sandwiches (we were big Panera fans), so this is right up our alley and I ADORE that they have spuds on the menu too. McAllister's used to be my jam when I attended Illinois State University. I spent most of my flex dollars at that location every semester and was able to try most of the menu. I have been to this location twice. It's very clean and the employees are very attentive. I have only been there during lunch time as I work in the area and I definitely recommend ordering online and picking up at the drive through pick up window, because it is always packed. Here I have had the Spud Ole and the pick two Blank Angus Club with Nacho Side. Both are were delicious, filling, and more than enough food for under $10. For my nacho side the cheese was in an actual soup cup not one of those sauce containers. I wasn't even able to finish it. That in my book is awesome! You are getting what you pay for.
