Turduckin with extra crawfish rice stuffing
    Clint M.

Love this place! We get a Turduckin every year for thanksgiving. I learned about these morsels of goodness watching Monday night football with Madden. They are the best, not dry, always moist. I get mine with crawfish stuffing and usually some more stuffing on the side. It is so good, the stuffing is made of rice with crawfish, the best. I also order mine in advance and pick it up a day or two before I cook it. Don't turn your nose up to it till you try it.

The staff is friendly, the service is great, and the Cracklin's are OMG Slap Yo Momma Good !!! I'll definitely be getting those on a regular basis !!! They offer a lot of great and interesting cook it yourself items and they also have a nice little dine in or get it to go menu as well. I've talked to a few coworkers who have eaten here and they have no complaints. Check em out !!!

Stuffed has been around for a long time for a reason! The food is reasonable price and you can get your Cajun fix when needed! The smothered redfish is 16 bucks and sooooo tasty! I always leave with a few stuffed deboned chickens for an easy meal

    Rotten dead crawfish

Have been ordering live crawfish from here for years and years. On the day of my daughter's high school graduation I ordered 35 lbs of live crawfish.Picked them up and noticed a bad smell and thought maybe it was one or two..... NO!!!! Almost all 35 lbs was dead and rotting. This was not normal dead loss in a sack. These were grey/white and mush with the worst smell. A lot had holes on the shells of the body. Eyes were cloudy. I called back and was given the run around and then told he would process refund. I asked for him to call the owner and see what could be done. The jerk on the phone told me he already did. His response was "someone will reach out to you if they feel it's necessary." What? If it's necessary? What kind of nonsense is this? The guy was laughing and kept cutting me off saying "is there anything else I can do for you today? The owner would not reach out. Their solution was "buy some more tomorrow" I asked if they had boiled crawfish and his response "I just dropped my last 40lb sack." So call it crazy but I thought perfect I'll pick up the boiled crawfish since apparently they kept the live sack for themselves and gave me the dead sack. Again the rudest little guy said "it's already promised to other people. " so an hour before you close, you drop a 40lb sack of crawfish? This was the rudest guy I've ever dealt with in the years I've been a customer. This is the worst experience ever and now I'm the one that has to look my daughter in the face and say "there's nothing they can do"

This establishment was amazing all around from the sign from the road as soon as you walk in there you just know it's gonna be good. I ordered the Cajun platter half a poor boy, gumbo Cajun potato salad and a Boudin ball they even had electric jellyfish, perfect lunch or dinner in my opinion The staff greeted me, acknowledged me and even recommended what I should eat while I was waiting in the dining room I felt like I was in East Texas.

Been awhile since I've been here. Great place for crawfish and Po'Boys. Food is seasoned just right. Portions are generous and food is super tasty. If you're looking for no frills, great Cajun food, this place is hard to beat. Service is friendly and fast.

This is hands down some of the best Cajun food you'll find in Austin. As someone from Louisiana, I can confidently say this is the most authentic Cajun spot I've come across--it truly felt like being back home. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is outstanding. Whether you're craving plate lunches or looking for high-quality meats to take home, this place has it all.

    Crawfish pistoulette

Excellent service, piping hot food, wonderful value for quality ingredients! We ordered: 1x blackened redfish with etoufee and a side of red beans and rice (+$2). It was great! 2x crawfish pistolette - very tasty and filling but very salty. The sauce was good! 1x Boudain balls - probably the best I've had anywhere. I'm typically not a fan. 1x kids fried crawfish and fries. Thank you for making the substitution. 1x pecan pie - it was ok. Very sweet and not "pecan-y" enough but it's $2.49, and we were so stuffed it was a nice little sweet bite to end the meal. The food was packed well for carry out! We will return!

Luckily, there was no line, so I was able to order right away. Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas are really nice. The Tex-Czech sausage was one of the most delicious sausages I've had at a BBQ restaurant. I absolutely loved the melted cheese inside the sausage. The brisket also hit the spot, and the sauce was amazing. My only wish, or small complaint, is the portion size. It feels like shrinkflation may be part of it, and it's definitely not cheap. But for a once-in-a-while treat, Micklethwait is absolutely worth it.

This spot was a standout on our Austin BBQ tour and completely lived up to the hype. The brisket and sausage were both incredible, but the brisket especially stole the show. Every bite was exactly what you hope for when you think of great Texas BBQ. The sausage was just as impressive, packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. You can tell there's real attention to detail here! If you're putting together a BBQ tour in Austin, this place deserves a spot on your list. I thought it was odd that they would be closed on weekends when people have the time to shop along with being closed before people get off work. But those hours make sense when you realize they produce for distribution, not dine in. There's almost 30 reviews so far, but I was surprised that not a single one of them included any photos. If you're coming to this part of town, parking is always a concern in this area. The good news is that there are about eight places to park at here, otherwise you'll have to park in the street, but at least there's no kiosks. As soon as you pull in, the air is filled with that familiar smoky aroma. However, once you step inside, you suddenly realize that this is not a place you can dine in. Basically the first 10 feet of hallway is where the customer service takes place. There is a cold case with all of their sausages on display, including a little beef jerky, and that's it. I have to admit I wish they had brisket and ribs too. They do make a tamale-based sausage for Christmas as a seasonal item. The prices are very reasonable and there is no tip screen. This is not just a grab and go operation, their sausages can be found in virtually every H-E-B. So the good news is that you can find them here or at your favorite H-E-B. First off the reservations were pretty open mid-week; I had booked for Tuesday several weeks ahead of time but then had some plans shift and was able to change my reservation to Wednesday just a couple days ahead of time with no issues. We walked in through the front as the back entrance wasn't really obvious from the parking lot (which is quite small), but that was cool as we got to walk by the deli counter and see the meat and pickled veggies etc that were for sale. Our server was great, very helpful in suggesting items, explaining the menu, and answering any questions we had. On her suggestion we started with the sauteed mushroom appetizer but also requested the black garlic butter to be added on the side (I don't think there was an up charge) and this was a great choice! The mushrooms were tender but with a nice bite and super flavorful. We also got the grilled oysters- I forgot exactly what was in the sauce it had miso and something else, but it was so rich and flavorful! I couldn't decide what was the best between the two apps they were both amazing. The husband ordered the antelope over regular fries (as he doesn't like sweet potatoes) which they were happy to accommodate. It was delicious- tender and perfectly cooked with the chive butter on top. I had never had antelope before and found it very pleasant, not very gamey but with a slightly different flavor than beef. I got the quail over grits with a creole sauce and sauteed kale- amazing! It comes with two quail that I think were spatchcocked- the only bones were in the legs and wings so you could eat it easily. The grits were creamy and the sauce with the kale and quail was delicious. I was able to finish my whole meal but was pretty stuffed at the end! Our waitress encouraged us to get a dessert but when we declined brought us out a bowl of chai ice cream to share as she said she wasn't going to let us leave on our anniversary without a treat!
