I have loved mcalisters since I was a girl, always got the same thing. For some reason this location refuses to grill the bread so I pay $15 for a grilled sandwich on soft white bread. I always have to put it in the air fryer when I get home and then my lettuce is shriveled up and dry. They also added large sides but fill them to the same amount as a regular. Literally one of the worst experiences I've had a restaurant. They messed my order up when I originally arrived to pick it up. Once I brought this to their attention the manager quickly through my order together and made the saddest salad I've ever seen. I hadn't been to a McAllister's in a long time, though this location is pretty close to my work, so I was glad when a co-worker of mine wanted to go too. Though their menu has changed substantially, and they no longer carry one of my favorite spuds, I still enjoyed it overall. Still just as good as I remembered. We went on a Thursday for lunch. It wasn't super busy and there was practically no one in line ahead of us. The place has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Their menu features all the usual salads, soups, sandwiches, spuds, starters, and plenty of options that DON'T start with the letter "s". The staff were all very friendly and helpful too. I decided on a choose 2 option of a harvest chicken salad sandwich with a spud max. My co-worker got a smoky pepper jack turkey sandwich with a cup of country potato soup. He also got a cup of the seasonal Witch's Brew as his drink. The employee taking our order described it as "a little sweet and a little tart" which sounded interesting to me too. We hardly waited long as all before everything was brought out to us. My chicken salad sandwich was pretty tasty and they definitely didn't skimp on the portion size. My spud was very good and loaded with toppings as well. My co-worker enjoyed all of his food, though I think the Witch's Brew might've been a touch too tart for him. But just a touch. I can certainly see myself coming back to this location. I've always liked McAllister's and I'm glad this location is close to my work and not too far from my home. I came here once last year and service was amazing. I believe you had a different manager then who walked around making sure everything was good. I had a different experience Friday evening. Super long waiting in line. The employees need to hustle more. Ordering was fine. When my food was done, I could tell it was my plate. The 2 girls up front just looked at each other, both confused. Pros: - Good potato salad - Pretty good Spicy Turkey Melt - Sweet tea NEVER disappoints Cons: - Portion size - Price - Employee Interaction To go a little more in depth, I'll start with the Cons. The portion size is not what it used to be and I was fairly surprised! I don't come here too often but one thing that did stand out was the portion size of food! I got a 6' Spicy Turkey Melt with a side of potato salad, and it was the potato salad that minimized in size. If youre going to change the size of food, don't keep the same massive plates they go on because the plate looked sad and empty. Which leads me into the price, how was my final meal upwards of $20 for a 6' sub/melt, a small (included) side and a drink?! I understand our economy these days and the increase in prices but I could go down the street to a restaurant that mainly sells chicken salad and get a full sandwich, side, drink AND a free cookie for near half the price. Lastly, when I went up to order, one of the employees with black hair, pigtails and glasses rushed me and my order, all while acting annoyed the entire time. Look, I worked in food service for almost 8 years so I get the frustration but I never let my annoyance show my guests. After I got my drink, I stood by the counter to squeeze my lemons into my tea and wanting to look at the menu a little longer. Next, a different worker was trying to find me (I was 1 of 3 parties in the restaurant) to deliver my food but I was still at the bar. Mind you, half of the restaurant is closed off at 6:30pm and the only section available had 5 booths and 8 tables. Nevertheless, the employee comes up to me and rudely says "Sir we drop your food off at the table. Why did you come up here?" A little taken aback but I digress. Now the pros!! I so wish the portion size didn't suck because the potato salad was delicious!! Not too overwhelming with the flavor and I enjoyed the paprika on top. Similarly, the spicy turkey melt was delicious. I think my favorite part was the avocado mixed with the spicy sauce they used because it balanced out the turkey very well. And lastly, you can NEVER go wrong with a McAlister's Sweet Tea! Absolute perfection every time!! All in all, it was a decent/okay experience. The pricing may deter me from going here more often in the future, which is unfortunate given the food is pretty good, but the base workers here can't control that (although they can control their attitudes!) 3/5 **I also never got my pickle read more

I had tried this brand years ago when I first moved to the area and wasn't overly impressed so hadn't been back. This location recently opened on the east side, so I decided to give them another try. I ordered online for pickup on a weekday. Turn around time was pretty quick. They had dedicated parking spots for contactless pickup, but they were all full (not with people picking up unfortunately) so I ran inside. To the left of the entrance they have pickup cubbies. Even though I was heading for those I was greeted and thanked for my business by multiple employees. The inside was large and bright, although during this time they were only allowing diners on their very nice outdoor patio. For my food I ordered the Spicy Turkey Melt. It was just the right size and had fresh ingredients along with great flavor. It came with a side of my choice and I went with the potato salad. This is an item im pretty picky about and I did enjoy their version. For my drink I absolutely had to get the seasonal blueberry lemonade because I love blueberry anything... and also quality lemonade. It was just the right amount of fruit and sweet, maybe a tad bit watered down if anything (although that couldve just been ice melting). For desert I went with the heath crunch cookie. Of everything that was the only thing I found disappointing. The cookie seemed to be a bit stale actually. It wasn't chewy nor crunchy just kind of overly crumbly without much flavor. These guys did a nice job of including a wrapped silverware/napkin combo which I feel is most appropriate during these times. read more

This place has the best baked potatoes. They are huge! I believe they take two and put them together. I always like to build my own but They have some already pre made like a chili one or a vegetarian one. The cookies they sell are also good and their sweet tea is amazing. We've been door dashing the heck out of this place for the past week and a half. The food is soooo good. I've only been to McAlisters once, several years ago, so I wasn't really overwhelmed with joy when I heard they were moving into the newer part of the Anderson Towne Center. Hubs and I were craving a late dessert (late for us is like 8pm) so we ordered cheesecake and chocolate spoon cake. Both were delicious. Fast forward and we ordered lunch. Kids Mac and cheese, Choose 2 and a signature sweet tea. With my choose 2, I had a smoky turkey sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup. Absolutely delicious! I snuck in a few bites, okay most of, my kiddos Mac and Cheese and it was very good. Authentic cheese, not fake stuff. Everyone talks about their tea and the website really boasts it. Now I know why. The sweet tea had the perfect amount of sugar and tea. Plus, the cup was HUGE! I could totally see just stopping for a sweet tea. Yum. Hubs loved his "New Yorker" sandwich and (large) chef salad with his choose 2 meal. Prices here are very satisfactory, especially knowing you have good food coming your way. Service has gone downhill as prices have risen. Salad portions have shrunk. High staff turnover and mediocre management. I am tired of calling orders in and taking 20 minutes to pay because staff can't use cash registers and don't know how to use giftcards. They also changed rewards program so a free meal is not really free if you get a premium item. Today I was told my order wasnt there when it was and it took 2 servers and 2 managers to ring me out. I then get home to find my 1/2 pecanberry salad which I havent gotten many times with tomatoes and cucumbers was packaged in a giant container versus the usual bowl. I had 1 piece of chicken 2 tomatoes a few cucumbers and very few pieces of fruit or pecans. I give the salad a 1. Paying 13 dollars for that and half corned beef pastrami is a joke. I spoke to gm when leaving store about my long times to pay each recent visit and was told hard to get help and confusing registers. Lame excuse. I called Corporate to complain and found out this is a franchise. The first few years the management was great. The area manager who used to be the mason manager was great. Put guides by registers to help cashiers. Last 5 visits have been horrible service. They already cut back the cookie varieties and now charge surcharge for mac n cheese on top of the raised menu prices. I understand costs are up but dont treat customers like crap. All these vists no lead manager has apologized or said heres a cookie for our issues. read more

It's a beautiful addition to the anderson area. I've never visited before. I'm a first timer. There weren't many people there. It's a huge establishment. The employees are super nice. It's bright new and clean. They don't have a drive thru. But you can order ahead, pay on the app and it's ready for pick up. They also cater. I tried two for 7.99. There is an up charge for about half the menu items which are considered signature. The McCalister deli sandwich wasn't so good. It's really tall and served on toast so it's pretty hard to eat. I really liked the turkey pepper jack sandwich. It's kind of like a panini and it's served warm with gooey cheese and a tomato. I absolutely love that you can get pickles, banana peppers and pepperochies on the side of everything. They're so nice cool and crisp. These are great additions to any sandwich. They have bread bowl soups, salads and potatoes as well. They also have some great tea and lemonade options which I'll try next time. read more

Visiting our family in the area my father in law suggested this restaurant. We enjoyed the atmosphere and food. I had the berry salad, my daughter had the chicken Caesar wrap, my husband ordered the New Yorker, my mother in law had half a berry salad and sandwich and my father in law had a sandwich. Loved the table delivery. The food was fresh and the restaurant was clean. The server taking our order wasn't familiar with the lemonade tea even though it was on the menu. I asked for my salad without the candied pecans however it came with them. Luckily I'm not allergic-just prefer not to have nuts on my salad. First time I've eaten here. It's decent corned beef but it looks like it's from a Krogers Deli. Tasted OK. But not anything like Corky's and Lenny's in Cleveland or Izzy's In Cincinnati. And both those deli's give you pickles which McAlister's did not! Pickles go with corned beef! I love corned beef and have eaten it all over the country. First of all...this place STINKS. Not so much that the food is bad (the food isn't very good, but it isn't terrible)....it literally STINKS. The entire place smells like a combination of uncleaned bathroom and locker room b.o. Asked an employee if he had any idea why it smelled so bad, and he said he didn't notice anything...which tells me it has smelled that way long enough that he's used to it. So anyway, the place could have the best food in Cincinnati and I would not be able to recommend it due to the odor. And they don't have the best food in Cincinnati...surprise. $23 got my companion and me 1 large Diet Coke, one big but badly microwaved potato with uninspired toppings, a limp, thin, BLT with a couple of avocado slices, and a tiny cup of chalky Mac and cheese. I used to eat here all the time but hadn't been in awhile so I was super excited to get a veggie wrap. I was very disappointed when I was given a jalapeño crunch and by the time I noticed I was home. I called to let them know they'd given me the wrong sandwich and wanted to know if they'd make the correct one and I'd go all the way back to get it or if they could refund it. Since opening my family has enjoyed meals here at least 1-2 times a month. The soups are excellent and my family has really enjoyed the broccoli cheddar soup. They are nearly across the street from Pan... Bread, but they are much better priced and the soups and sandwiches are better! Win-win! I hope this restaurant stays around for a long time.
