BLT simple right? 3 main ingredients served on toasted bread with a swipe of mayo. Sides don't count, sandwich is usually enough. Well, the pic I took looked great. then I touched it. toaster must be broke. one slice of tomato, with bacon and lettuce. Since I was short on moisture I asked for ketchup, with missing the tomato and all. No ketchup! In the whole place, the deli does not have the #1 condiment in the world! Our stop at this restaurant was during lunch time on a Saturday. While relatively busy, we didn't have any trouble finding a table. When complaining about how cold the restaurant was it seemed no one wanted to address it as it was more cold in the restaurant than it was outside. Looking for a Philly cheesesteak but they didn't have it. They did customize their French dip with peppers and onions and it was very good. Service involves going up to the counter and ordering from menu on the back wall. They take your order and deliver it to your table. Drinks are self serve. Also they have a drive through. If you go in later, they tape off the areas so you can only sit in one section of six tightly packed tables. So I thought we would give the them a second chance and they disappointed again. So I ordered the Cesar wrap and it was $8.+ and they charged me $3.00 for a soup substitute. First of all the amount of chicken in the wrap was about a thin slice and a half of chicken, loaded with lettuce and sauce. #2 the $3.00 for the soup charge...and it was cold. In this day and time with the cost of food and fuel and there being a ton of choices of eating, this is not a good showing. The chicken Caesar wrap had hardly any chicken, and the chicken salad croissant was mostly lettuce with very little chicken salad. The food here was amazing!! I came for the first time never having heard of this place before, and I was very well pleased. I ordered the sweet and smoky chicken sandwich and changed the bbq sauce to mayonnaise and I was amazed how much I needed it. It may be considered a simple sandwich but it was so warm and the bread was soft which was especially welcoming during winter. There are certainly menu items with more toppings and different sauces, but I personally prefer simple and comforting food. I also tried my dad's salad which was flavorful and pretty good. The staff were kind and friendly. The ambiance was just as spectacular as I found the food. It was cozy and quiet and I appreciated how it wasn't too crowded. Overall 5/5 stars, I keep thinking about this place and hope to return more frequently :). read more

If I could give a negative star review I would! I'm a door dasher and I have never had such a horrible experience in a restaurant! The manager seriously needs an attitude adjustment! As I was reaching for the last bag of my order the manager snatched it away from me and told me I needed to confirm the order. I told him I did and reached for the bad again. Glad to have another restaurant at Grand Central Park. Went and had lunch there and the interior was lovely and welcoming. You order at the counter, then sit down with your number. Staff was very friendly and twice we were asked how things were during lunch and someone came by and gave us at refill on our cokes (which you usually don't get at an order and sit place). The only reason I didn't give it higher stars was because #1 the prices are high for a simple sandwich (or 1/2 and 1/2 options). The drinks are huge and that's the only size they have not counting kid drinks (they should offer a smaller option). #2 my Reuben sandwich was not made properly (very little sauerkraut, totally the wrong cheese, and not sure what my sauce was. . . Did not look or taste like Thousand Island). My friend ordered chicken salad sandwich, which comes on croissant but then they toasted the croissant which was odd (maybe should have been an choice for toasted). I'm not going to throw the towel in but maybe better read the menu or ask them to put the correct items into my sandwich. If I could do zero stars I would. Sorriest excuse for a deli I have EVER been to. With their 2 types of Ciabatta, baguettes, wheat, and rye, no sourdough (WTF), spring mix for lettuce, you get a pretty tasteless, texture-less sandwich. And with a bag of chips, all for the bargain-basement price of $10 bucks. On top of that, when I pulled it out of the bag my "Toasted Wheat" was a little soggy and the whole sandwich looked as if it was sat on by an elephant. These guys are no "Deli". Pros: good food, pretty good service if you dine in or place an online order not during their peak hours. Cons: they are not well equipped for accommodating online orders or doordash pickups during the lunch rush. I ordered my lunch through their online app, arrived when it was supposed to be done, waited in a long line at the pick up window for 15 minutes that didn't move at all, was blocking traffic so decided to park and walk in to get my mobile order. I went to the counter on the far left and no one came to ask what I needed. I had to flag down a person and tell them to give me my order. By then, I had been waiting another 10 minutes. There was another person waiting off to the side and he said he was a doordash driver and had talked to someone but had still been waiting for over 15 minutes for an order pickup. He said that a lot of doordash drivers avoid McAlisters orders during the lunch rush because they don't have a pick up station so they just have to wait until someone has time to talk to them about the pickup, which takes forever and ruins their doordash ratings. He admitted this was probably the last time he'd pick up a doordash order from this place. By the time I got my food and went back to my car, the line at the pickup window had moved somewhat but I still would have been third in line at that point so I'm glad I went in. read more

I love ordering the food on the app and going through the drive-thru. The SW Chicken Salad is awesome. My family orders nachos, baked potatoes, soups, chili, the BLT and turkey sandwich. I love the food and I also order several times a week from them. The only negative thing I have to say is that they don't always get everything on your order. I have gotten home without chips, dressing, butter, sour cream, and nacho cheese. I always try to check, but can't catch most of their mistakes until I take everything out of the bag. It is frustrating but the food is so darn good that I can't help ordering more from them! I'm glad they are here. read more
