Like the Chipotle of Mediterranean food and I am so here for it!!! I'd never had skhug sauce and now it's my fav sauce of all time! Like of any sauce ever! And the eggplant dip is as good as if not better than baba gannoush at a sit down restaurant! The fact they have lamb options available just makes me even more enamored with this place! This is hands down one of my favorite spots to grab lunch. If you haven't had Cava before, the best way to describe it is... its like Chipotle, but Mediterranean-style. They serve salad and grains bowls, as well as wraps. I always opt to do the Create Your Own bowl, that way I get the perfect bowl suited to my tastes. However, if that not something you're into, then there's also a set menu with premade options to choose from. One of the best parts about Cava is that the food is healthy AND tasty. Honestly, what more could you ask for? I've never had an issue with the service or the quality of the food. Out of all the times I've been there, the food has been consistent. There has been the occasional mess up on my to-go orders, but nothing major. Cava does occasionally get busy, and at times it gets backed-up. If you are on a time crunch (which I usually am), I'd highly recommend ordering ahead time, then picking up the order from the to-go area. You can take it out or still choose to dine-in. My favorite thing about Cava is the Garlic Dressing. This and the Shug sauce go with everything. I actually order extra so I can use it on other dishes at home lol. Overall, I love Cava. I adore this place. I can't count the amount of times we've returned. The food is great, the service is hit or miss, but everyone is doing their best regardless. It gets busy but it's never a long wait and they crank out the service again and again. The pita is soft and chewy and the pita chips are crisp and great, although there are times where they dump a bit too much of the salt on them. The sauces and dips are fantastic. I've been coming to the Woodlands Parkway location for five or six years. While the employees have generally been pleasant and helpful, recently the quality of staff seems to have gone down. Simple things. Wanted rice on a pita and understood I had to pay extra for it. The server couldn't comprehend that concept. This evening, the young man who put together my pita did so with the care of a septic tank digger tossing the contents of a shovel. The pita was big wet saucy mess without much in the way of other ingredients. If it were my first time at a Cava, I would not return. This location is slipping. read more

Love the Chipotle style Mediterranean assembly line concept of a build your own bowl. We got the Lentil Avacado, Falafel bowl and cucumber mint limeade. Everything in the bowl was super fresh, and so healthy. Loved it. However the portion size of the dips/sauces is small so I was left with a lot of rice and lentils at the end of my meal that felt dry. Limeade was a bit underwhelming but not bad. I would still come by next time and try the other options as the spot wasn't busy at all! We had gone to Cheesecake Factory which had an 1 hour wait on the Saturday night, so we were relieved to come here which had no wait time. Good to see the vegetarian options here. read more

First time visit, and from the start Charlie (I think that's right) was very helpful by explaining everything, as were all the employees that assisted me. When I could not decide between two protein options, I was given a small taste of each to help me decide (I went with half & half). I expected the chicken to be dry, but it wasn't. It was seasoned well, and juicy. The rice and lentils were cooked perfectly, the salad mixes were fresh. All of this with the optional toppings made for a delicious meal. I have to be honest when I say I've never dined in here, BUT it's my family's DoorDash go-to. Everybody loves something there and the prices are reasonable for the food. I'm not a big fan of greens so I go with a grain bowl and it never disappoints. For the meat-eaters in the family, we LOVE the spicy chicken. It tastes divine and isn't too spicy but if you pair it with the right sauces, it'll burn your face off. I want to say they had a sweet potato protein they no longer have and that was my favorite. Please bring it back! The texture and flavor mixed with everything else in the bowl is just right. My 10 year old vegetarian who is the size of a teenager (with an appetite to match) LOVES their pita wraps. They are so big, he usually has to eat the mess he leaves with a fork but is never left hungry. My toddlers (including a super picky 3 year old) love their rice so much, they scoop it up with veggies too and don't even mind if. The last thing I love about Cava is that they provide nutrition information. My 3 year old is a type one diabetic and having that available makes life a lot easier for us since we don't have to separate and weigh food. Thanks Cava! read more

How long has this spot been open? Maybe a few weeks? Then it says a lot that I've been back atleast 5 times since it's inception. While I'll say Mediterranean inspired is the most appropriate description of the food, I'm not a purist, I like bomb food & Cava delivers. They offer premade bowls, build your own bowls and pita wraps. The whole process functions similar to Chipotle or Sweetgreen in style, but the flavor...that's where they stand out. They additionally offer a variety of unique lemonades that are nothing short of delicious & although they share a parking lot with other patrons, parking is manageable. In my 5+ trips I've noticed an uptick in traffic so try then now or you'll have to deal with a line to try them later. read more

Why 4 stars? Because this is a place I will likely return to a fair amount. --- --- --- I love places that offer build-your-own-bowls, especially when the offerings are somewhat healthy. I love fattening up as much as the next guy, but I'm much more likely to return to a place when I can eat fairly guilt-free. And CAVA strikes me as a place where the calories are not as present as most other eateries. I ordered a Greek Chicken wrap and thought it hit the spot pretty perfectly. My only complaint is that making my way through the line took about 2-3x a long as I would have estimated. I'm going to chalk that up to this being a fairly new place and them probably dealing with labor issues. But the process of spreading the sauces on the wrap was quite time consuming for one person to do for every order and it really slowed things up. One other complaint, and I don't mean to single out CAVA here, but they obviously required employees to wear masks, because they all were. It's March 2022: this is a ridiculous policy and needs to be called out. I'm glad we're long past the foolishness of making customers wear them, but it's abhorrent to require them of employees too. It makes them feel like second-class citizens and can't help with the labor issues. I wouldn't want to work here either if I had to wear a useless mask all day. Feeling a bit out of place giving a less than perfect rating, but I wasn't impressed. I had previously tried CAVA at other locations and loved it! This was well before making its appearance in Houston. My first introduction to CAVA (in California) was inspiring... Similar to the likes of Chipotle, Subway, and Mod Pizza, they offer a quick "build your own" approach, with tons of customization options. Every salad, bowl, or wrap I tried before was delicious, the ingredients fresh, and portions generous. It was a favorite go-to of mine for a quick & satisfying meal. I was so impressed by CAVA that I considered it a golden business opportunity, if one were to open a franchise in Houston... So, I was excited to hear about new stores opening around town. However, my visit to The Woodlands location fell short of expectation. Compared to my experiences at other CAVA's: 1.) Bowls were prepared more skimpy & scanty. I observed smaller scoops of rice & proteins, lighter sprinkles of toppings, and employees were extremely hesitant to provide extra (except for the sauces, which they drowned everything with). 2.) While I'm normally a big fan of lamb & enjoyed it before, this batch was far more "game-y." It was a tad offensive in odor and flavor, swimming in braising liquid that wasn't strained before being plopped into my bowl. 3.) The final product lacked visual appeal. Sloppy assembly made for ugly presentation, having no resemblance to the picture perfect product shown in the brand's marketing & advertising. My bowl was a sad mound, swimming in a puddle of yogurt & tahini, that sunk down into the crater of a plate that was too big for the meager portion. Perhaps I got unlucky and caught them on an off-day. Perhaps there's still a lack of training or experience... Perhaps challenges with the supply chain or geographical differences play significant factors. Whatever the case, there are noticeable contrasts between locations, and this one is shadowed in comparison. I think CAVA (overall) is an awesome concept, but I can't jump onboard the hype train for The Woodlands. At least, not based on this visit. The bar is set high, and there's room for improvement. New casual Mediterranean place in the Woodlands! Pretty busy on a Sunday evening. There's a few predetermined options for bowls and pitas or you can build your own. There are many options for bases, toppings, and proteins. All of the vegetables taste fresh and I liked that there are so many different protein options. This place is vegetarian and vegan friendly! I liked all the flavors in the bowl I got and would definitely consider coming back for a fast meal option. Though it just opened, it was very busy and some of the lids weren't fitting onto the bowls properly for to-go at the cashier, so it jammed up the line because the same person doing toppings was also doing the cashier. I think they maybe need one extra person in the line to help move things along or lids that fit onto the bowls easier. But food is good and staff is friendly. read more

First time trying Cava, I am impressed. Since I wasn't sure what to choose, I decided to do the build your own bowl option so I could try a little bit of everything. You get to choose a base, main (meat or roasted vegetables), up to 3 dips (I tried whipped feta, and two different types of hummus), and unlimited other toppings. I highly recommend this option, as I think you get more food out of it and you get to try a variety of different foods for future orders. You have to try their whipped feta, it is so creamy and smooth, made everything taste so flavorful. The place is located in a corner, there are plenty of tables outside and inside, it's very relaxing and quiet to sit outside on a nice day. Parking is easy. If you plan on shopping at the market street, this place is great for an easy, quick and healthy meal afterwards. Service was okay, staff was not very friendly or helpful, she looked impatient and was not happy I chose so many different toppings, not sure what it was. The last few times I've ordered ahead, I've had to wait at least 15 minutes past the estimated time for pick up despite the restaurant not being busy. It's also not the cleanest and there are always flies. I witnessed food prep being done without gloves. As someone else mentioned the portions have steadily decreased in salad bowls. I always have to add in lettuce when I get home. I really wish this location could get it together and be as good as they were when they first opened. read more

I've eaten and ordered food at many different cava locations in Maryland , Virginia, DC and Las Vegas . This CAVA in woodlands is tied for the WORST Cava I've ordered from. They charge extra for literally everything except greens/spinach. Also the portions they put in the bowls are half the amount that are put at other Cava locations. I witnessed this when I came for lunch with 6 family members and each of us ordered a bowl. Unfortunately this Cava sucks. Per usual, the food was delicious at Cava but this was my first time stopping by at the Woodlands location and I didn't appreciate the service given to my friend and I. There was a guy at the assembly line (specifically the toppings section on 05/23 in the evening) that was straight up ignoring me when I was listing out the ingredients I'd like to add to my bowl. I kept on repeating myself 5 times "corn" and when I look up, his head is tilted to the back kitchen as if he was talking to them rather than not focus on what to add to my bowl when he's literally holding it in one hand. At first I thought maybe because I was too soft spoken but when I discuss it with my friend, she had also notice how rude the employee was and almost felt like it was personal. The location on woodlands parkway is not managed very well. They have sticky floors and tables. Also they don't have the, "for here bowls" out because they are trying to avoid washing the dishes. You have to ask for one, then they go to the back and get it- therefor creating more waste for the landfill. They are serving everyone dining in with to-go containers because management is lazy. I have been waiting for Cava to come to The Woodlands area for over a year now. I was super excited when I found out we were going to have one close to home. Everything on the menu is delicious. We have ordered several of the bowls, customized our own, and enjoyed some of the pitas. The most important thing to me at this restaurant is that everything is super fresh and relatively healthy. I also love that they have a variety of drinks. The pineapple mint juice is my absolute favorite. Not super sweet and not super tart. The perfect combination of both.
