My son and I visited Pie in the Sky for breakfast. We were warmly greeted and offered beverages. Service throughout was on point. I ordered the market skillet which was excellent. Everything was seasoned perfectly, the eggs were just right (not dry), and the mix of veggies filled the skillet. I had a croissant with it and it was beautifully charred. My son had the lone star platter with pancakes, eggs and bacon. He said the pancakes were light, fluffy and delicious, bacon was cooked perfectly and the eggs well seasoned. I've never had chicken pot pie and French toast on the same table, but a four hour drive can change a lot about a person. Everyone I spoke to looked legitimately happy to do so and this trend continued throughout service. Good vibes, eclectic styling, and good food! Heard from a neighbor that Pie in the Sky was a good place for lunch so last week we stopped by to give them a try and have an early lunch. The inside of Pie in the Sky was nice, relaxing and reminded me of a Panera or a Starbucks type of atmosphere. We took a look at the board to figure out what we wanted to try. It wasn't terribly busy at the time we stopped in, but one of the first things we noticed was that the staff was not terribly friendly or helpful toward us or anyone else. My wife decided on the Pulled Pork Sandwich and I went with the Cuban Sandwich. We picked a table to sit at and in a short while our meals were brought out. Both sandwiches were presented well and tasted even better. We really enjoyed our food but were too full for any dessert. We really wanted to try out the delicious looking pies they had to offer, so we got something to go and had it after dinner. I had a slice of Chocolate Truffle Pie and my wife had the Peach Cobbler. Even several hours later, both pieces of pie were still delicious and worth going back for. Next time we are out and about, we will consider stopping by for a nice breakfast early lunch or even a just a piece of wonderful pie and hopefully the staff will be a bit more friendly toward its customers. read more

It's been a couple of years since I have been so my wife and I decided to try it again. Chicken pot pie was meh. Very little flavor. Need to consult Cheddars on how to make these. The pies were way off. Placing a few trails of drizzle looks awesome but does nothing to add flavor to the pie. We had the coconut crème and the key lime. The crust was not fresh on either and was more soggy than crisp. Ditch the whipped crème as it adds great visual but is tasteless. Reminded me of something I remember called Pastry Pride. You might do well to add a real crème topping on the pie before serving. What a lovely cafe! It's my husband's birthday weekend and he always requests a pie or any pastry for his special day. I am still new to Houston and the surrounding areas. I researched several pie shops close by and found this business 16mins from my area. I will say of your not familiar with the location, you might miss the turn. There was plenty of parking available. I noticed the outside patio lit with lights. Inside I was greeted by a lovely girl who was personable and informative. What like most about this place is knowing EVERYTHING is made in house or locally. I forgot to mention Pies In The Sky is female owned, and has been around for 20yrs (I think), BRAVO! I spent some time talking to the staff at the register - they seemed very happy to be there. Even the kitchen staff looked in good spirits. The wall closest to the entrance has a variety of pie flavors along with local coffee, wine, free range eggs, and more. I don't recall seeing a price list posted so I asked the nice young lady restocking the shelf. 9 Inch Pies are $20 6inch are $10 (Be sure to checkout the half off rack. Half off pies expire within the next few days but are still great for freezing and eating later) I was shocked at the price points of the pies, I was honestly expecting them to cost much more. This is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper compared to other shops that charge $36 for a 9inch pie. TASTE The million dollar question. Are the pies any good? YES!! If your a new customer like me and don't know what to purchase, are free samples available at the register. I tried the strawberry rhubarb then purchased a 9inch plus a slice of the bumble berry. The chicken salad was shredded chicken with very little chopped up grapes, what I think was mayonnaise, and what was supposed to be "fresh avocado", was mashed up avocado stretched with something added to it making it loose. I thought it was going to be slices of avocado. I should have asked. No nuts were in it, no celery. There was some type of lettuce. It could've been a lot better. Again, I should have asked. The fries were very good. Bumbleberry pie could've had more filling, and the crust was very very thin. My husband's coconut cream pie was average at best. If you name a sandwich Cheesy Cheesy, it should be full of cheese :( this one had 1/2 a piece of yellow and 1/2 a piece of white. We have been here many times and not had any problems with the strawberry salad but this time it came with an oil for the dressing and instead of the candied pecans they have substituted for sliced almonds. With allergy issues this is something they should have mentioned before they brought the salad to the table. The pie was served on a shallow bowled plate with light swirl of a complimentary flavor. My coconut cream was perfect in sweetness so the coconut was still the primary flavor. I love this place. I'm not going to lie and say I spend 100s of 1000s of dollars here but I do frequent this restaurant every few months. When friends and family come into town, I take them here because it's special with a variety of options and thankfully it's not a chain restaurant. After the girl at the counter saw me getting slightly frustrated with the ordeal, she offered to sell me 3 scoops of ice cream to-go for a dollar a piece "as a favor." While back home visiting my beloved hometown in Conroe, some friends of ours wanted to meet up and have breakfast. They suggested Pie in the Sky, so we hopped in the car and headed that way. I moved away from my beloved Conroe in 2004 to seek greener pastures with my current job, so this place was not around when I left. However, something seemed a bit familiar about this place. Upon arrival, we strolled in to meet our friends. Upon walking in, we were impressed by the quaint little small town feel when we walked in. An open area with a pie shop, a counter, and a dine in area where you seat yourself. Menus were by the door, so this is an order at the counter and they bring it to you sort of place. The wife and I picked up a menu and perused. Lots of delicious looking items, so the choice was hard. After some back and forth on a couple items, I decided to go with the basics. The wife decided the same thing as well. Both of us ordered Dad's Plate. Two eggs, with German fries, bacon, and a croissant. The wife had the same, but regular toast instead of the croissant. The kiddos ordered a kids pancake of some sort. A side of good advice was supposed to come with the wife and I's plate as well. According to the menu, Dad's plate was a favorite of Ted. Then... it hit me... Now I remembered why this place seemed so familiar. I knew Ted back from my last job, and remembered the pies we ordered from the Pit Stop back in the day for our annual Christmas party. Our annual Christmas served hundreds of people in the community, and I remembered the amazing pies we used to get. I also remember Ted as a great no nonsense, down to earth, very stoic kinda guy. I was sad to hear of his passing, as I had knew him all through the years at J&B. The food arrived at our table in good time. The presentation was amazing and it looked delicious. Very hungry, I dove right in. The eggs were delicious. My only complaint was there was not enough of them. Four big bites and they were eggs were gone. The bacon was good too. A but overcooked and borderline burnt. I love crispy bacon, but not burnt. The potatoes were great, and the croissant was heavenly. We were shorted the word of good advice though. Not to be cheated out of what we paid for, we returned to the counter to demand what we paid for and did not get. The girls behind the counter were happy to oblige. The advice we were given? Drink water, be nice, and eat pie. Fair enough. Generic, but applicable. We were happy the girls made this right and completed our order. (We also were very humored they played along! It all was in good fun!). We finished our meals, visited with our friends, and were out the door. The family and I enjoyed the food, fellowship, and the environment of this little jewel.
