This was a disappointment for us. We absolutely LOVE eating at McAllister's. One of those reasons is the consistently great tea! It's the best....always. Until today. The tea was cloudy but mostly it was weak! I saw the advertisement for the new grain bowls and it sounded awesome so I ordered it- nope...they were out of the grains. I ordered my favorites instead- Jalapeño Turkey Crunch sandwich and Fire Roasted Veggie soup. My husband ordered his usual- Chicken Tortilla Soup and a Smoky Pepperjack Turkey sandwich. Our food seemed to take forever to come out and the restaurant wasn't very crowded at all. When it did come out, the server was very polite. The food was hot and that part was the norm we've come to expect. My husband's plate was pretty much normal except it had a tiny pickle and just a few tortilla chips (normally a plate full). The lady with really short hair (like too short) and bleached blonde was really rude to my swedish friend. How are you mean to swedish people they got no beef with nobody for real. I stopped here for lunch one afternoon in September because I was in this part of Georgetown and wanted to try something new. I also wanted to eat inside (at this time of the year, some places were still open for indoor dining and some weren't). I was pleasantly surprised with the spacious and clean dining area, the friendly employees, and various menu options! I decided on a sandwich and a bowl of broccoli cheddar soup, which came with crackers and a pickle. For the price, it was a decent amount of food. Enjoy this restaurant while it lasts, because it will close soon just like all the other restaurants with bad service. Pros: I love the location. Cons: My past four orders have been wrong, and three of them were online orders, where the order is spelled out for them. Staff raise their voices to speak across the restaurant at each other about topics that are not work related. Staff can't handle a dinner rush, and are visibly distressed. My mom and I wanted lunch so we stopped in. It was a late lunch so they weren't busy at all. The lady at the register was so nice that it was infectious. We had the king club sandwich and the veggie spud. Beautiful presentation. Mom's only complaint was that the cheese sauce was a tad spicy but I actually was glad it was. I have only been here once (today) since they have opened their Georgetown location. Upon arrival, we were a little bit taken aback from the line. However, we decided to be patient. I'm glad we did! The line was back to the door but we were in line for only about 5 minutes! I ordered the Italian sandwich with bbq chips. My husband decided on the French Dip. Both sandwiches came out in about 15 minutes despite the large amount of people inside of the restaurant. The food was great and were pleased with our portion sizes. A worker suggested to us that next time we get the pick 2 deal and each get 2 different sandwiches to try! Great idea because I want to try them all. read more

Typical Gtown service. BAD. If you order something online, it should be right. If you order a French Dip, you should get Au jus. If your order a BLT Avocado . And you request NO Avocado it should not have any on it. That's not asking to much. Also when I pick it up. The new restaurant/deli has just opened in Georgetown. We have eaten at other location before, but it has been a while. I checked the menu out online before we went, and as usual, what we were served didn't come close to looking like the pictures on the menu. But, I guess that happens at a lot of places. I had the club sandwich. Pressed meat that was sort of wet and gooey. Very small portions of it on the sandwich. I had to look twice to find the bacon. The tomatoes were a joke, small and with those big white areas in the middle. As a side item I had the coleslaw and it was pretty good. My wife had chili and a grilled cheese sandwich. The chili was so thick she could have cut it with a knife. She said the sandwich was fine. She had tea, a water for me. The bill came to just under $20.00. I could have done better next door at Roosters!! I accept they have just opened and there will be kinks. But, the computer system was taking 4-5 minutes to get our credit card approved. Every register was having that problem. They kept apologizing. We may try it again, but will let it work at getting better for a while before going back. The staff makes this place worth the visit. They are attentive and considerate throughout the meal. I ordered the Roast Beef and Horseradish but to accommodate my celiac, I requested gluten free bread. The bread was the softest and most like regular bread that I have had at a restaurant. Thank you! The restaurant was clean and went through the line fairly quickly despite going during lunch hour. I've had the jalapeño crunch sandwich, broccoli cheese soup , cobb salads, & veggie sandwich. Everything was tasty. My friend had her sandwich w/gluten free bread which was surprisingly good albeit much smaller than the regular sandwich bread. I loved that they had fresh flowers from a local flower farm (@inbloomky), just makes it look nicer! Def will be back again! read more

We have been there now 3 times and every time we've gone it gets less and less stars from us. This was the kids grilled cheese.... hard plastic like cheese. I couldn't even separate the bread. It was like glued shut. Thankfully an employee came over, Leona, and she took it back to the kitchen and got us a new one. While I appreciate her customer service, the sandwich looked the same. My son did not eat it. I know it's a new establishment and maybe needs to work out a few kinks, but I left very disappointed. read more

When arriving at McAlister's today we noticed there were several dirty tables with no one sitting at them, there was trash on the floor, the bathrooms weren't clean, etc. On top of that the service was terrible, very rude employees! Ordered the Southwest Chicken Salad. The top layer looked fresh but as I ate it, I discovered most of the lettuce was far from fresh. It looked very wilted and unappetizing. When I showed the manager on duty, she apologized and said sometimes that happens. She offered to have the salad re-made but at that point, I wasn't interested in more salad. Exceptionally clean and well staffed. Ate a quick lunch before doctor appointment then went back and picked up dinner for four to eat later. I saw the restaurant mentioned on a Versailles group page so thought we would give it a try - we will be back. But please don't invest in one for Versailles - 20 minutes down the road and home. Three stars for the food, docked a star for frequently terrible service (including poorly prepared food and room temperature soup on occasion.) Good stuff: the club sandwiches, country potato soup, broccoli cheddar soup (it's grotesquely cheesy yet somehow enjoyable), French Dip. Bad: the meat chili is the worst I've ever had... it's like a meat paste you'd buy in a can to put on chili dogs. Veggie chili is somewhat better. I love reubens but the one here is disappointing, never really hot through the middle etc. If you go late in the day they are serving the soup that has been sitting there for hours... really disgusting. Brought home the potato soup once and it was so thick from cooking off, the spoon would stand straight up in it... basically the consistency of mashed potatoes, and at room temperature. (It went straight in the garbage.). Sad! read more

I've been coming here since they opened. TODAY IS THE LAST DAY! I ordered and she said they didn't have baked potatoes. The lady behind me ordered one and the cashier said she'd check to c if they had any. She told the lady they did. The cashier started talking about surgery she'd had..all the gory details after a half hour wait they gave me my order and I asked her to make sure there was no mayo. She said "I have no idea". She walked off. That's just NOT RIGHT!!!! The food wasn't even good. I don't know what happened here but we won't b back. Ordered online. BLT and made it a pick 2. I get 2 halves for over 10.00! I get the food and it is horrible! The bread on half the BLT is hard and stale. The bacon is not fresh! Clearly out of a box! I have always liked McAlister's Deli. It was one of the first restaurants we used when we were first quarantined in March 2020. The first couple of times the food was excellent, they got our orders correct and everything was golden. The last 2 times, our food has not been correct, they forgot the pickles we asked for, they omitted avocado from a sandwich, the soup wasn't hot, and the angus spud that was ordered had 1 very small piece of beef and there was barely enough cheese to cover a third of the very small potato. It just seems highly overpriced for what you get now. read more
