Ok so I know this place is a chain but food and service are both good. They offer everything from sandwiches, salads, soups to fancy humongous baked potatoes and other sides. The only way to describe McAlisters is close to Paneras food menu minus the bread selection but food is delicious. I'm a sucker for a good baked potato and the loaded baked potatoes McAlisters serves are out of this world. I mean I might be biased because I'm pregnant but I came here 2 days in a row before moving because their baked potatoes were calling my name. I took my husband and boys one of the days and they loved it just as much they went back the following day as well. Portions are huge and prices are fair. What I love is you can kind of sample their menu by doing the you pick 2, and trust me they don't skimp on portions. The first night I went with their you pick 2 and did half a jalapeño turkey bacon avocado sandwich and half a baked potato. They say it's half a baked potato but their half is your typically whole large baked potato, my friend ordered just a whole vegetarian baked potato and I kid you not it was almost a foot long! But both sandwich and potato were amazing and it was a great alternate to many fast food options Hinesville offers, I left feeling full and not completely guilty for eating out. Disappointing experience. I was literally the only person in line looking at the menu when the cashier, a male around 5'6" wearing clear/transparent glasses, loudly said, "Oh my God" from the kitchen area. There was only one family already eating and one woman waiting for food, so it wasn't busy. This guy should see what other jobs have to put up with, perhaps he needs a different job, one that doesnt require customer service from him. In the most fake manner possible he came around "nicely" asking If I was ordering. Like yeah lmao why would I not be. When I mentioned what I'd heard, he said he was "multitasking" and that "it's been a lot." The timing made me feel like I was an inconvenience just for trying to order. To top it off, our order was missing all three pickle spears. This was not the only time they have "forgotten," the spears lol. Its been quite literally 4 times now. Its tiring spending my money here. Who is the CEO again? New management and new employees might solve all issues regarding this. The experience felt unwelcoming and disappointing. Horrible, do not order door dash or mobile they treat your food like trash, and they don't fix it, no management reaches out to make it right and corporate could care less. It's always empty and quiet very strange atmosphere. The customer service in store is decent, but who ever the manager is over the kitchen in the back, they are horrible. I'm so glad someone else on here mentioned the dirty mop water smell. As soon as I walked in I noticed it. No one else was there, except two people picking up their to go order. The kid at the counter was great, but man the food wasn't. The kids pizza was completely undercooked and not even cut. I did the half sandwich and cup of soup and I'm 99.9% sure the toasted tiny piece of bread had been toasted at an earlier time and just left to use... it was so underwhelming and just wasn't good. It hurt to think I spent $25 dollars for such a blah and small portion meal. (I'm aware it was a half and half, but even for a half and half it was insanely small portions. And I'm not a big portion girl to begin with). I've been here once when previously living here 4 years ago and it has gone down hill bad. If corporate doesn't step in, this place won't be around long. You walk in and it just has the feel of a restaurant that's given up . DO NOT EAT HERE: Appalling Management If I could leave negative stars for the Hinesville, GA McAlister's Deli, I absolutely would. I stood in a completely empty restaurant for several minutes, entirely ignored by the staff. When I finally tracked down an employee and asked for help, she actually had the audacity to dismiss me with, "sometimes we're busy." Let me reiterate: there were ZERO other customers in the building. When I pointed out this obvious fact, her shocking and unprovoked response was: "I'm not serving you with that attitude." I had a witness on the phone who heard the entire exchange and can attest that I was perfectly polite. I was about to walk out until a cashier finally came forward and apologized for ignoring me. But here is the most appalling part of this entire fiasco: the woman who gave me the smart-aleck attitude and refused me service was the MANAGER. To McAlister's Corporate and Regional Management: This requires immediate action. You need to pull the security tapes and review who you have running this location. A manager openly berating customers and refusing service in an empty restaurant is an absolute disgrace and reflects a catastrophic failure in your leadership and customer service training. I expect a response from corporate regarding how this manager's conduct will be addressed. Until then, I will never step foot in another McAlister's Deli again based on this atrocious experience. Spent $30 for two of the pick 2's. Everything was fine besides one of my sandwiches. Other than the fact that it was small as my pack of crackers, It literally had barely any meat on it. I was excited to try the Cuban with the pulled pork. I literally only took one bite and I noticed there was basically no pulled pork on it so I opened it up and seen basically no meat. My first bite was just bread but when I opened it I took out the little bit of pulled pork to show how much was on it. Absolutely ridiculous and when I first went up there, the lady tried to tell me that that's how it's supposed to be until the manager came out and fixed the issue.. Ambience wasn't too bad. I usually try to avoid negative reviews, but the experience I receive tonight (12/28/2023) was unpleasant. I went to get chili because it is very good here. A girl with a curly bob wig closed and locked the door when I was in my car about to get out at 8:57 pm. If you close at 9, you should be serving until 9 pm. (This is from someone who has also worked in fast food.) Then, she didn't even go to clean or anything. She got on her phone then looked at me when I drove away with a nasty expression. My first experience with McAlister's Deli was in Columbus, GA from 2010-2016. Great food, friendly staff, never once had a problem. As such, I was excited when a new franchise opened in Hinesville a few years ago. Unfortunately, my experience here has been hit or miss at best, with all misses lately. Today, for example, I was given someone else's to go order. As such, I had to waste my time and gas to drive back to the store once I discovered the mistake. The cook hastily threw together a replacement Veggie Sandwich which was very light on the vegetables. In fact, the last three Veggie Sandwiches I've ordered were the same way--almost no vegetables. Ditto for the Reuben--almost no sauerkraut despite requesting extra sauerkraut. As for the staff, on most visits they seem very stressed out and unhappy to be there. I didn't push the issue, but I believe a more professional manager would have offered me something in compensation for my trouble, perhaps a cup of soup. In retrospect, I should have asked for my tip back. As another reviewer suggested, it's probably time for Corporate to get involved to salvage the good name of the company. read more

I ordered a vegetarian 3 cheese sandwich which was full of grease but was okay to eat. I also ordered the Chili. The chili taste like something straight out of a can and it taste like something you would only eat on a hot dog. There's also a lot of grease. I added the cheese myself to try and make it edible, but it's just not good. They just opened and first impressions were definitely not as expected, not all but some of the workers were moping around and acting like they just didn't want to be there. I get it long days are long days, but they just opened. These workers need some training on service with a smile. You're probably better off paying a little extra for Panera. read more

Went to pick it up and there were no pickles, and all the food tags said "no pickles". When we asked we were told we had to ask for them or we wouldn't get them. Even though they are included with every sandwich AND they had to actually make an effort to leave them out. Looks like management is placing cost over quality. This is how franchises fail. Now usually McAlister's Deli is a delicious trip. Due to COVID-19 I have had to get their food delivered. The quality is definitely noticeable when you get it delivered. Sandwiches are not hot when you get them. One sandwich I received the bread was burnt, and the sandwich turned inedible. The sweet tea is always on point as well as the potato soup. I've also seen them refuse to exchange an untouched meal because the child with special needs who ordered it waited longer than ten minutes to realize it was the wrong order -- he was in the restroom during that time, but they didn't care. Do NOT eat here. It is a gamble. When they first opened it was all good , BUT this last time, the soup looked and tasted bad; completely different from last time. I will probably never eat potato soup again. The meat and cheese was as if it had been laying outside the frig for a while. They give you a super small container half full of sour cream for a huge potato. They hardly put ANY signature honey mustard on their club; like droplets. Skimping with key stuff is insulting. My companion and I cross-referenced and felt the same about all details. They do NOT hand out silverware, only plasticware, even for dine-in. It is difficult to cut meat and lettuce in a salad that way. All these things are common sense so I feel insulted and done wrong. I assume it is upper management making the employees keep soup too long and leave meats and cheeses out and give plastic ware. The servers are all pleasant so I hate to cause them any grief but, good grief! We were miserable. Also the baked potato not only had a teeny weeny amount of sour cream on the side , but also very little butter. I did go retrieve more of all condiments including mustard. I love McAlister's food but their curbside service leaves something to be desired. I ordered online at 4:30 because I'm coming from another town. I asked for 6:15 curbside pickup. I got there a little early and I called. Someone was going to check on my food. Twenty minutes later I called again after sitting outside in the 90 degree heat. I am using curbside as much as possible because of Covid-19. If you aren't going to treat your curbside customers like pickup customers, quit offering it. This is the second time I've had a wait at curbside when I've ordered. The food is delicious but I'm not sure if I'll be back any time soon. read more
