I like the guys working the counter. They are pleasant and work quick. It's also a nice change to the food scene in Hinesville, where you have mostly chains, and a lot of establishments with slow service. You have several gyros to choose from; I stick to a traditional gyro. You can also get a small or larger size. All in all this isn't the best gyro I've ever have, but I appreciate that I can enjoy one in the area! read more

Amazing, my Gryo tasted very fresh. Most Definitely the best Gyro I've ever tasted!

I tried this place yesterday and was sadly disappointed. The meat wasn't freshly shaved; it was crunchy and burnt like it was cooked on a grill. It certainly was not fresh and moist like it would have been if shaved off a gyro spinner. The pita was so dry and stale that it split/ cracked when they folded it over. Just poor quality that an owner or manager should have recognized. I have reviewed many restaurants to recognize quality and service. I typically only take time to rate 5 stars to deserving places and just don't rate others. This was bad enough that it needed to be shared to warn others. read more

This man microwaved our food right in front of us after telling us that it was fresh, the tzatziki tasted sour, as if it was old, all of the sauces tasted horrible, and when you drive up the smell is atrocious. If I could give this place zero stars, I would! This place was so disappointing that it shouldn't have the right to call it self a Mediterranean shop. It shouldn't even be called the Gyro shop! Wasn't really all that...especially after reading some of the reviews. I just wanted a gyro since I haven't had one in a while...and I've had better. The owner was very nice, with it being my first time there, but I was really disappointed...like really. This is a mediocre restaurant. Basically nothing about this is very good. I had the "Spicy Gyro" if you would call it that, and "Falaffel with sauce". The spicy Gyro was a little disappointing. It was not very spicy, the sauce the used was maybe Frank's red hot? The lettuce was unappetizing, and it was mostly dry. The falafel is advertised 8 pieces but in reality it's 4 full pieces sliced in half. It was also drier than a Popeyes biscuit. This was a poor take on a Greek classic. read more

Let's start off with the good stuff, there's only one worker but he is very friendly and knowledgeable. He is very insightful and helped with any questions I had about the food. When I walked in, the aroma of the lamb meat immediately hits my nostrils and I am sent to heaven! My mouth is watering as I walked up to the counter to place my order. I ordered a classic gyro. I was excited that I was about to see the master craftsman cut meat from the stick and place it on the pita. This was not the case, the cook bypassed the meat spinning on the rod and went straight to the warmer where he pulled out some slices and placed them onto a styrofoam plate and weighed it. One satisfied with the weight, he proceeded to place the weighed plate into microwave for 30 seconds to reheat it. Then he put it into the pita and then pulled out a tub from the fridge of zaziki sauce and plopped spoonfuls of it onto the meat with lettuce. Aside from the meat being a little rubbery, which I'm assuming is because of the microwave, it is still very tasty and filling. Since there are no other places like this in Hinesville I cannot compare it to anything nearby except if you count the Savannah Mall. For seven dollars I am a little bit disappointed. read more

Contrary to what previous yelpers have said, on the numerous occasions that we have picked up from here, our food has never been microwaved. Loved it! Found it with the Yelp app while traveling to broadcast our high school football game. We had a short time to eat and get to the stadium. It is clean with nice staff. I ordered the large gyro and it was quite good with lots of meat. They make their own tzatziki sauce that's different than what you would expect but it is still tasty. It is more like a cucumber dressing. The baklava is great but was served cold. It is much better if served at room temperature. Over all a great place for a quick lunch or dinner. read more

Well this is just to start it out I walk into the store and seems inviting the owner is definitely super chill but based off of taste and quality it's not authentic whatsoever. They pre cut meat and microwave it so they don't cut it fresh like it usually is. The yogurt sauce is totally masking the taste of the low quality of meat they use also they don't give great portions regarding meat they mask the size with lettuce and mask the taste of everything with sauce. I'm from California and have had the grateful experience of tasting authentic Greek and Mediterranean food as well as traveling Germany for a year this is definitely not even by American standard exceptional. Hinesville is a town littered with fast food restaurants so when I saw this mom and pops gyro shop I was super excited. But after dining here, it was a lackluster experience. There's nothing special about this place and the gyro were just so plain. It's better than going to Taco Bell, McDonald's, etc etc but that's really all it has going for it. Lots of different options if you don't want the standard gyro. I've tried a new version every time I went in and I have yet to find a bad one. Now every time I've been there the machine has been on and spinning and the food is hot. Never had mine touch a microwave.
