My sister and I stopped in for a mid afternoon late lunch. The restaurant was practically empty so service was super fast. No waiting to place our orders. The dining room was very clean and all tables were freshly cleaned. The dining room was cold, so cold I had to retrieve our morning jackets from the car. I ordered the Choose 2 option and chose the Classic Grilled Chicken on a Croissant sandwich with a cup of Broccoli Cheddar Soup. She ordered the same option of choosing 2 and went with the French Dip Sandwich and the Chicken Dumpling soup. We both enjoyed our meals. I thought my chicken sandwich had too much honey mustard. She really liked her dumpling soup. McAlister's serves really large soft drinks. I need two hands to manage one. read more

I will never eat food from here again. This place is beyond gross and a huge disappointment. Something is very wrong with this restaurant. First of all, after my last negative review, as you can see, someone from Mcalister's acted concerned about my experience. They then messaged me and asked for my contact information for the store manager to contact me. No one ever did. That tells me this location does not care about nor take any pride in their establishment. Because it was so filthy, I decided I would not be returning. Last night, my husband calls and asks if I'd like him to pick up dinner. I said I wanted a salad from Mcalister's and figured he would go to the one that was near him at the time he called. Instead, he ended up going to this nasty location. As soon as I pulled my salad out of the bag, my heart sank. It looked a crazy mess and I could see large hunks of onion, not even chopped. The bowl also had quite a bit of empty space, which is not normal. It's usually so full with salad that you have to carefully mix in your dressing. I was able to dump my dressing in, replace the lid and shake it around. Usually the cup of dressing they give is the perfect amount. But because the salad was so scarce, it ended up being to much dressing. As I began eating, I realized that much of the lettuce was not good and a lot of the veggies looked old and gross. The lettuce even tasted bad, old and funky. I ended up getting sick shortly after eating what little bit of the salad I did. Do NOT eat here. I've instructed my husband to never get my salads from this location, ever again. It's filthy and they obviously have no quality standards in the least. Hadn't been in a while, but really wanted one of their spuds! We stopped in last night around 8pm, not too busy, but a small crowd still inside. I took some spud suggestions from a man named Chris who was not only helpful, but friendly! I believe I got the spud max.....? The meat on the potato wasn't overwhelming and I liked that! Shown in the photo- I ordered the pick/choose two. Chicken tortilla is my go to! Restaurant was clean and employees are constantly making their rounds to remove plates and refill drinks. I've always gone to this location but recently they seem to be doing our orders wrong. I ordered a king club sadly my sandwich didn't have everything on it it's like they rushed through making it. I also ordered a BLT sandwich and requested to add cucumber and sadly they didn't add it. A friend wanted to join me to join her for dinner and suggested McAlister's Deli. I really didn't want to eat there, but I'm so glad I did! When we arrived the line was super long, but it moved pretty quickly. I order the half and half deal, but with my extras my total was around $13.00. I ordered the Broccoli Cheddar Soup in a Bread Bowl with a Chef Salad. It was the perfect combination for cold weather. The soup was good, but I really didn't like the actual bread. Next time, I would get the soup without the bread bowl. The salad was small but filling. All the topping were fresh and the ranch dressing was pretty tasty. The staff was really nice and accommodating. My friends sandwich was not made properly, but they quickly made another sandwich for her and apologized for the mix up. They come around to bring drink refills, provide extra help, and bus the tables. I ordered a baked potato with veggie chili. It had only a tiny dot of chili. I went up to see if they could provide more chili and someone was over to our table instantly with more than enough chili for my spud. The facilities are clean and well maintained. I want to like the food, really I do. They are so nice there, everything is clean, but the food is just so bland. The vegetarian chili was nearly tasteless. Usually veggie chili has a kick to make up for the lack of meat, but not this one. It was the beige wallpaper of chili. My friend had a salad and I tried her sherry shallot dressing. It was equally unflavorful. We went because my friend is vegan and I'm a vegetarian-in-progress. Their menu is fairly veggie friendly. It just really needs to amp up the blandness. read more

I have not been out of the house for two and a half years. I went out tonight to receive a haircut, an ice cream cone, and a meal at MacAllister's. Each stop was worse than the one before. I ordered two Rachel's with a change of condiments. Small servings of turkey, one slice of Provolone, and no mayo. The broccoli was fine. The cashier asked me three times if the broccoli was to go along with the sandwiches. Yes, of course. Then the salad was served on a plate with silverware. This was a TO GO order. My daughter had a similar experience. Her order was to go and they asked numerous times, "Is this to go also?" The food was for her and the boy. Why would half the food be a to go order and the other half a stay in order? I will stay home and order delivery online from now on. I have COPD and need to continue to wear a mask. My first impression of McAlister's long ago was so-so. Some hit or miss meals and I kinda forgot about them when I went off to college and there wasn't one nearby. When I moved to the west side after college, my husband's family was a big fan of the place, and I was definitely willing to give it another try (despite a blah experience on the north side around the same time). My love for McAlister's began then. I love this place, sooo many menu options and everything I have tried is very good. I'm mostly nowadays addicted to the Cobb Club, it is hard for me to eat something else, but occasionally I force myself to try something new. I crave their sweet tea so we make this a fairly regular visit. It loses one star due to a few messed up to-go orders and the occasional unfriendly staff member (but with how busy they can be, I can see why they get worn out). This location tends to be packed during peak times so we try to avoid those times if possible. I am sure my sweet tea craving will strike again soon...they even have little tea cup ornaments for sale during the holidays, I wonder how long I can resist picking one up... read more

The menu has really changed over the years. I've been here more times than I can count. Everything on the menu is pretty decent, but nothing spectacular in my opinion. The quality is good, but it can get a bit pricey with all the options available. I gave visited locations in Gatlinburg TN, Vincennes, IN and now Avon/Danville, IN. The tea is good, but is not consistent between these 3 locations in regard to sweetness. This was our first trip here for dinner. It wasn't my first choice but I was pleasantly surprised. We had eight people which can cause problems but the staff was quick to accommodate us. We ordered and the food came out quickly. Everything was fresh and hot. The staff offered us refills on beverages and quickly took away finished plates. The iced tea was a big hit with most.
