Got off work and drove 30 minutes to McAlister's. Called 2 times to order for pickup since it was getting close to closing time with the first call being at 8:35pm, both calls went unanswered. I arrived at 8:45pm, the door was locked. The employee was inside stating they were closed. I can't really remember what sandwich I got, but it was good. It was a little cold, not fully warmed. But I'd go back. Now, the service was iffy. The lady that took our order wasn't super friendly or engaging. But they seems short staffed, so very possibly she was just distracted. The (who I think) manager did come over and check on us so that was nice. It was super hot in here, and none of the tables were being cleared. I love McAlisters as it's always consistent. This one was dead at 5:30pm with only a few other customers. But the store was dirty with trash on the floor and most of the tables being dirty. The store itself is newer and seems in good condition but the outside appears to not have been mowed in months with overgrown grass and weeds. McAllister's was on point tonight. I love the chopped Savannah salad. I always get the same thing. And their chicken enchilada soup is my favorite around town. I like it because it's thick and creamy. I also got a side of macaroni. It's one of my son's favorite things ever. I ate it too fast so I didn't take any pictures. this place sucks and it's not clean. Ordered the "nachos". what they brought out to us was velveeta and rotel scarcely drizzled on corn chips. There are flies and fruit flies everywhere. The tables are sticky. This place is dead and none of the employees are lifting a finger to clean up the lobby. The boss is sitting at the table in front of his computer watching this happen and isn't intervening. I'm sure it won't be long before this place is out of business. read more

It's a new location and I'm sooo happy about it. Hands down my favorite restaurant when traveling or visiting different areas because it gives the the option for healthy food not only for myself but my family as well. I placed an online order for for pickup via the "pickup window". FYI the "pickup window is such a big deal especially when you're on the go. I ordered my go to meal the chicken salad sandwich and steamed broccoli, a kids mac n cheese, and a sweet chipotle chicken sandwich with a sweet tea of course. Everything was as expected and everything was as we ordered it. Customer service was amazing. I noticed the gentleman working the window made sure to take note of the number of cars in line as he was taking care of customers. He made sure we had everything we needed. I have to mention that the sweet tea was prepared once we got to the window and not before so that it wasn't watered down. Most definitely will be back on our next visit to the area. read more

Nice new restaurant. Employees seemed nice but a little uninformed. I ordered a sandwich and it was fine (nothing great or bad). My wife ordered a baked potato and it seemed like it had been baked more than once. The inside along the skin was burned. Nice outdoor patio and a drive through as well. Very slow preparing a simple order. Took 50+ minutes after ordering to receive food after asking twice on status of order. Several customers came ate and left before getting our food. We only got food because of asking to talk to a manager who refused to come out and discuss the issue with the order. All food was cold which indicates it was prepared and sat in the kitchen for some time before delivery. Worst Mc'Calisters restaurant we ever ate at. We were excited about having one reopen in our area but am very apprehensive to return and concerned that it will not make it with service this poor. read more

I've been to the Prien Lake, Lake Charles twice since they've opened up in the mall parking lot and both times the workers were rude and extremely slow. The second visit was the worst and last time I will ever go there. After waiting 20 minutes for a To Go order that was placed in advance, the workers had the nerve to say I was rude. All I said was the name of the order I was waiting on and nothing else. I did not lose my cool even though I was in the right to do so. Another lady appeared to pick up the order she called ahead for and attempted to go through the drive thru but was told she had to go in store to pick up. While waiting on her order she said first and last time she will ever order from Mcalister's. I will totally understand if they shut down for a second time. read more
