This little cafe is delicious! So delicious that I forgot to get a picture of all of my food. The beignets here are my (very close) second favorite in the city and NOT to be missed. The gumbo (with potato salad) is delicious. The hubs and I always sit in the bar area and the staff is always the BEST with fast and friendly service. We were in town and stopped in to meet a friend that lives near the area. I recommend you make a reservation if you are planning to dine in here, as they are usually pretty busy and you may encounter a wait time. We sat at the bar, were probably greeted by the bartender and we put in a drink order. Drinks were good, the sticky ribs had a good combination of spice and sweet, however, be mindful that when ordering this, it is the ribs only. Any sides would be additional. They had the meatloaf, and stated it was "OK". That did come with a salad and one side. This place was delicious! We had a fairly large group, with reservations, and they had us set up for success! They were ready for our group of 16, and made things look effortless! We all started w/ beignets for the table, and they were cooked all the way through (which, I HATE undercooked dough!). The bloody mary's had a nice zip without too much heat, and the right amount of Vodka! I ended up with the Maryland crab cake benedict, and it was full of lump crap, with plenty of hollandaise, and my poached eggs were perfectly cooked at just slightly runny, perfect to make an awesome sauce on my plate! My mom found this restaurant on Yelp when we were craving brunch and cocktails! We walked into the courtyard and knew we made a fantastic decision! Just know you'll park in the parking lot to the side of the restaurant. There is outdoor seating with garage door style windows that were open today! There's a beautiful water sculpture outside as well!!! The architecture is so beautifully preserved and the attention to detail in this building is amazing!!!! Darling Louisiana restaurant through and through! Outside seating under a covered patio is available but we chose inside. The hostess seated us immediately with a smile. The Christmas decorations are tasteful. I've never had a Strawberry Shortcake drink but it is delicious, very sweet of course! We had to have beignets since we're in Louisiana. The shrimp and grits were a perfect entree choice. The mushroom, bacon and Gouda made for a delightful combination of flavors. Our server was personable and helpful. Ended with a nice coffee. Got seated and sat there 18 min . No one checked on us or took our drink order walked past us like we were invisible ... but as soon as we got up to leave they pulled the menus off the table. It is such a cozy and lovely restaurant with fantastic food. The ambiance was intimate. We came with a large party. We were seated promptly and were greeted warmly. Our server James was excellent. He was very friendly and efficient. He checked on us often and refreshed our beverages regularly. I tried the blue crab ravioli and Cajun eggrolls, which were great fantastic. I ordered the Chipotle Pepper Linguine with crawfish for my entree choice. It was delicious. I didn't have room enough for dessert, but the choices looked wonderful. I was looking forward to my visit back to Pujo St, but left a bit disappointed. We visited on a Monday evening and decided to sit at the bar. Pros - the two ladies working behind the bar were very kind and worked very hard. The Rueben sandwich with sweet potato fries were quite good. Cons - The tuna nachos appetizer had almost zero flavor except for wasabi. The tuna could have been left off the plate and I don't think it would have tasted any different. The vibe of the bar area was pretty tame . They have a cute, decorated patio area and a couple different dining areas, so probably those are better for ambience. read more

We selected this place based on location. It has an open concept with a bar centrally located. There is an enclosed patio/courtyard in the front. Our waitress was Tiffany. She did a great job and explained things on the menu. I found the coffee exceptional on this morning and to my surprise it was Folgers. I ordered the breakfast burger, two patties with an egg and a hint of sweetness. The croissant was made in house and toasted. This just might be the best breakfast sandwich I've eaten. Some may not approve of the title, however, on a crossiant and served with an egg, I'd have to call it a breakfast sandwich. Burgers were juicy and getting my hands messy. I would eat here. My shrimp was grossly Over salted and the remoulade is not at all a remoulade it is in fact Dijon mustard, sadly not even a good Dijon..... These are the nicest things I can muster. The tuna nachos was well made it just wasn't for us. For entrées we ordered a hamburger and fries and a shrimp po-boy. We both enjoyed our entrées, but felt they were over priced. I would not recommend the gumbo. The gumbo was bitter like the roux was burnt. I didn't enjoy it at all and the manager refused to remove it from my bill. He said it was company policy not removed ordered items from the bill even if the customer disliked the dish. When I asked for the policy, he could not produce it!
