Great sandwiches every time. My family and I have been there over a half dozen times and never had a bad meal. Service varies. Some kids help out and come by getting plates and refills. Sometimes when there are a few customers they open up a new register. Sometimes they seem put out to refill your drink. I was a bit disappointed in the Mesquite. although it was clean and the servers were friendly, I thought the Cobb salad was very stingy on the grilled chicken. I've always loved McAlister's, and this location was no exception. From the second you walk in you're greeted by friendly staff and the smell of toasted sandwiches gets your appetite rolling. My melt (turkey) hit the spot as expected and the Mac n cheese was nice, creamy, and cheesy. Brought my laptop with the hope of doing some work on the free wifi, but either it was ridiculously slow or just didn't work at all which is why it gets docked a star. I ordered a Rueben, and I wasn't impressed. It was $8.99 and the side I ordered that came with it was a very small dollop of potato salad. The bread had hardly any flavor, and usually the strong flavor of the rye bread balances the sweetness of the dressing, but without this flavor the dressing was sickly sweet. The sandwich had tons of meat that had mediocre flavor and not near enough sauerkraut to balance it out or give it any crunch. You could hardly see the sauerkraut, and the bread wasn't toasted well. I usually like to stick around $6-7 dollars for lunch, and paid extra to try this place out and was not impressed not enthused that I spent $10 on a sandwich with a tiny side. They had some great looking cookies but I didn't feel like spending any more money. I won't be coming back. Jason's Deli has WAY more flavor, and worthy prices. read more

I was not impressed at all. I guess the McAlister's Deli in Jackson, MS have spoiled me because my usual Savannah chopped salad was super skimpy. Then to put the dressing inside the salad container threw me. I reckon they do things differently at this location but every other location I've visited aren't stingy with the salad toppings. The people were very nice and helpful but it did take a while to bring our food out and it was just one sandwich and a bowl of soup. two stars, yes I HAVE experienced better, much better. I am not comparing this place to a gourmet restaurant or even a gourmet deli. WHY because they are not one, to me the food here is sub standard. I have been here twice. Once I ORDERD the baked potato .. not very good at all. Second time I ORDERD one of the sandwiches -- I really had a hard time eating it as it really was subpar.. I HAVE had better food at fast food burger places to be honest. THE food is my only complaint. I really would have to be forced to eat at any of this companies restaurants .. the fruit also did not taste fresh... This is probably one of my favorite places to go for lunch. It's nearby everything like the mall and other restaurants. I love the vibe here, but this isn't a fancy place. Very causal and it's like a sandwich deli. I would say similar to Panera bread, but cheaper. The only thing I pretty much get is the harvest chicken salad sandwich. It comes with a side and pickle. I love how is comes with a croissant bun. They are known for there delicious sweet tea. And I personally like it with lemon. They have other kinds of teas like peach and lemonade tea. When it's cold I like to get there country potato or broccoli cheddar soup. They also are known for spuds, they come in a huge portion size. It's definitely worth trying if you like spuds. I also like there spicy southwest chicken sandwich. It has corn and avocado in it and there bread on this sandwich really good! We got McAlister's Togo for dinner tonight. Sweet tea was good, pasta salad was basic, and my Spicy Southwest Chicken Griller was ehhh. For an almost $8 sandwich you would think that there would actually be some what of something in it. Nope. The guacamole was barely a thin line, like it just looked like green food color was put on the bread. I added black olives and jalapenos(I am a big spice person) and was disappointed to only see 3 jalapenos on my entire sandwich, and 5 small back olives. Again, this is a $8 "Griller" or whatever. Also, if you like spice like me, don't get this sandwich. There was no spice. AT. ALL. I dipped it in ranch so there was some flavor with the mostly-bread-griller and only ate half of the sandwich. The rest went in the trash. I stick with Jason Deli next time. read more

I have tried your spuds twice and twice I have been disappointed. They are not hard to make and fix up but somehow you manage to do a great job at messing them up. I work not even 10 minutes away and when I get to work my spud is not only cold but dry too. Today I had a spud with chili and it was bad. How bad? Everyone in the office was laughing at my spud. It had a trickle of cheese and maybe a teaspoon of chili, NO LIE, oh and that's with me paying $1 more for extra chili. I took it back I was asked "would you like a side of chili" NO, please remake my order correctly. Why is it that I have to make 2 trips to get 1 order correct? I will continue using you as my go to place for soups and sandwiches but that's it. You killed my vibe for spuds. read more

Both the sandwich and soup were very small. My sandwich was the turkey club. I asked them to spread mustard on it. I did not ask them to soak both pieces of bread in the mustard. I took two bites, could not finish it. I can not comment on the soup because I was so disgusted with my sandwich i lost my appetite. I was given a free cookie with my meal, and never one to let a chocolate chip cookie to go to waste, I took a bite of that. How do you mess up a chocolate chip cookie?! It was big, but way too thin and too crunchy. That might be the first time I have never finished a cookie! A waste of 10 bucks, when all I liked was the tea. I've always liked McAlisters, but this was our first experience with this location. I've been home sick for a couple days and finally to a point that I could eat some real food, besides the club crackers, apple sauce, and pedialyte I've been surviving on for two days. I was craving broccoli cheddar soup, and since this location is the easiest for my husband to pick up on the way home, we decided to try this one out. Here's the total order: 1 Tea (half sweet half unsweet) 1 bowl of broccoli cheddar soup 1 spud max I placed the order online, and he swung by to pick it up. When he got home, we realized they hadn't given him the tea at all, and the spud max didn't have any of the "meat" toppings - missing bacon, ham, and turkey. The broccoli cheddar soup tasted fine (granted I haven't had anything with flavor in nearly 72 hours) but it was very runny/watery and not the texture I was expecting from my many experiences with Panera, McAlisters and the like. Overall - what we got was fine, but several items were withheld, and the quality overall was subpar. Update: I've changed my review from 2 to 4 stars, after McAlisters marketing manager reached out to me. While things like this happen in the restaurant industry, knowing that they are inclined to create customer satisfaction deserves a better review. read more
