I'm ashamed to say how addicted I am to their chicken tortilla soup and the spicy turkey melt.. The sugar cookies are also good as a little extra, it always tastes kinda lemony though. I'm not sure if there's actually lemon in the recipe but it's yummy nonetheless. I usually order pick up to make it faster which is usually done fairly quickly. Management blatsnt disregard for it's customers! It took fifty (50) minutes from front door to receiving my pick two to go order. The three workers that were behind the counter could not stop to take a breath. That is a horrible way to treat your employees! The cashier in the pink hair had to stop talking orders to go clean tables because it was so busy and people needed s place to sit. Dropped in for lunch with a friend. She's a big fan of McAlister's. I had the Savannah Salad and she had her favorite sandwich. She said her sandwich is always good, I think it was turkey. My salad was perfection, crispy fresh vegetables, lots of chicken and super tasty. The people could not have been more helpful. I am disabled and use a walker, and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. I love McAlister's iced tea so I had a couple of refills along with a trip to the ladies room, which was clean and pleasant. Ordered take out lunch for myself and husband. I normally order for my husband but ordered for myself as well this time. The food was great! The service was super great. My server's name was Diane and not only was her personality pleasant but her service was impeccable. She went beyond to assist me with getting my gift card activated so that I could pay for the lunch. She never got upset or showed any signs of frustration but simply said "I am here to serve you!" How about that, I had great food and wonderful service from a really nice and helpful young lady. This was my first visit to the Mesquite location and I found the ambiance was good as well. I'm so disappointed with Mcalister first the staff is always changing but every time I order the ultimate nachos theirs never enough chili mixture provided to cover the nachos. We ordered 3 and the cup provided was halfway full. Called and spoke with the manager who said you get one scoop of chili mixture. That would have been nice if it was one scoop of chips. I went to McAlester's the other day to try their vegan options. I was super excited to find a place that not only offers a vegan sandwich, but vegan chili as well. I asked them to add oil and balsamic to my sandwich and remove the cheese. The lady was very confused by this request and told me she could put the balsamic on the side. She forgot to do that. I also asked her to toast my sandwich it was not toasted. The chili was good, it wasn't amazing, but I did really enjoy it as a vegan option. The sandwich was also good I was just a little bit annoyed and I waited a long time so I didn't want to fix it, because I was in a rush. I appreciate the business and the workers, however my experience at this location wasn't amazing. Update: After a representative saw my review, she reached out to me. She was really kind and wanted to work on improving my experience. I really appreciated this, because often times as the vegan, I feel bad when my order is messed up, because vegan can often be confusing for workers(I totally understand:) ). I was referred to come and eat here. They mentioned the Ice tea is great. I came in to try for myself. Well she's right it is very good and certainly not bland as other places. Very tasteful. Although we didn't try everything. What we had was so delish. They have combos and 2 soup & salad or sandwich. Ohhh and real bacon. I love that. We were in Mesquite for a baseball tournament. I wanted a salad, not really in the mood for ballpark food. I called in the order. The order was ready as soon I walked up to the register. I had the Savannah Salad it consists of Sliced, grilled chicken breast, dried cranberries, Gorgonzola cheese, honey roasted almonds, with balsamic vinaigrette. If was fresh and a perfect accompaniment for a hot baseball game. I needed something light and fresh from all the sitting. My hubby and son had the Angus club which is Black Angus roast beef, applewood smoked bacon, sharp cheddar, Swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, on sliced wheat bread. They both gobbled their sandwiches and I heard very little from them. So that tells me they were pleased. My youngest had the cheese pita pizza. It actually was a good sized pizza served with apple sauce and teddy Graham's. I will be back when we have our next tournament in Mesquite. read more

Worst experience ever! I placed an order to go inside the location, and kept seeing people coming and going. I asked about my order 2x and nothing. An hour passes and I finally just ask for a refund. i paid 19.56 and the manager gave me $13.56 I told her and then she gave me $17.56 I asked for my $2 and she said she gave them to me, but she would go ahead and give them to me. Keep in mind I never moved from the register while doing the refund transaction and never put the cash in my pocket. I'm so impressed with McAlister's Deli! I'd never even heard of McAlister's before stumbling upon this location and I haven't tried it before now for various reasons. Thanks to a mention by Aimee Z, I trumped the boy's request for Taco Bueno in an attempt to try and fool myself into thinking I was eating healthy and gave it a shot. I have to admit that I was prepared to be disappointed. Let's get the bad out of the way so we can focus on the good. The reasons McAlister's shouldn't get 5 stars from me: 1. The staff is in no hurry to do anything. From the cashier walking away from the extra register to handle another task to the kitchen staff taking 10 minutes to make a club sandwich, these kids are in no rush. They're not rude about it, they just move a tad slow. 2. My son witnessed 2 cooks having a food fight in the kitchen. It was a fast one and was over by the time he nudged me and told me to look. But still. A food fight? In full view of customers? Bad form. 3. It's a tad on the expensive side (so I thought). 2 sandwiches - one of which was merely pita bread with turkey and lettuce - 2 large drinks - one of which was supposed to be a medium - and one side came to $16.87. A bit much for mediocre food (again, so I thought). The reasons I'm giving 5 stars: 1. These are some damned good sandwiches! My McAlister's Club - turkey, ham, bacon, cheddar, Swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, honey mustard and lite mayo on wheatberry bread - was absolutely gorgeous. And it was ha-yuge! I counted 4 slices of ham, 5 slices of turkey, 2 slices of cheddar and one of Swiss. That's exactly how I like my deli sandwiches - loaded. The wheatberry bread literally made me close my eyes at the first bite. It was fresh-out-of-the-oven soft and was thick enough to hold all my meat. Heheh. Seriously. The bacon was crunchy without being dry, the lettuce was fresh and crisp and the tomato was fresh and just ripe. My potato salad was exactly the way I like it and the main ingredient was potato, not onion or celery. $16.87 just became a bargain. 2. My sweet tea was absolutely perfect. I'm a Texan so believe me when I tell you this...it's the best sweet tea I've ever tasted. They also sell it by the gallon for $5. I'm coming home with a gallon next time. 3. The boy's turkey sandwich was pretty tasty and he was very happy with it, which is all I ask. He said the only better pita in town is at Stratos and that's saying a lot from him. His lemonade wasn't good and he went to the counter to trade for a Coke. Shortly after that, I noticed an employee taste the lemonade and frown. Soon after, the lemonade container was drained and a new batch of lemonade was made. Nice. 4. The slow but purposeful service didn't quicken when the lunch crowd arrived and a line formed, but one employee did open a third register. Can't ask for much more than that. I've been on a quest to find the best deli in town. Jersey Mike's still holds my heart for the best subs, but McAlister's definitely takes the lead for my favorite sandwich. read more

I like this place a lot. I forget about it with the glitz and glamour of Jasons down the way, and Chipotle between them, but I will never overlook you again McA! My mom and I go here a lot when shopping around Town East. Their Panera style order at the counter and get a number for your table style service is always pretty fast and convienent. Oh man.. My mom had the holiday panini last time we went- it was heaven. Yummy fruit spread with turkery and cheese...meow! I had the horseradish roast beef panini and it was damn fine too. One of my favorite things about McA is their sides. I don't have to get chips! I can have mac n' cheese or mashed potatoes if I want! This is really what makes McA special for me. This place has the usual "deli fare" but they also offer great combo meals that can help you not only get a taste of something different every time, but can help save you a little money too. The baked potatoes are very good as well and they offer a number of toppings and 'styles' you can try out, even with a combo meal. The staff is just as amazing and are always helpful and friendly. Willing to help recommend a dish and give you that extra refill of delicious iced tea. I have lunch at McAlisters' at least once a week. I'm going to cut to the chase and tell you what I really like about this place. EVERYTHING! ok here are some specific things I like: The service. I have never been to a casual restaurant where an employee asked to help carry my things. You would think that most people would want to help when a woman comes in alone with a baby on her hip and a bunch of other things in her hands. Now imagine that and trying to carry sweet tea to a table, get some napkins and a straw AND try to get a high chair over to the table. It's really nice to get some help sometimes. The food is amazing and fresh no doubt but I almost can't live without my free sugar cookie. It's not so great for them but I like that they aren't super busy like Jason's deli. It's easy to find a close spot and I don't feel wierd eating there alone. Because I love this place SO much I really want more people to eat here so they can stay around forever. read more

Before I eat I want to be assured, visually, that the restaurant is clean. The cashier's area had spilled tea around it and our cashier seemed very oblivious that the number card she handed us swam in the spilled tea before handing it to us. I went to grab a napkin to wipe it down. I don't think it takes much time to wipe spilled tea in a cashier's position. My plate had "water" spots on it.
