Not the same as it was when it first opened - they either get your order wrong or forget something. This time I was at party city right there and decided to pick up lunch for my husband and I. I got him a Reuben and myself a chicken salad sandwich / both of which I have had plenty of times. When I got home he wanted some of my CS sub and I wanted some of his Reuben so we each had half of each other's. This was at 2:00 pm. By 8:00 PM we were both violently ILL out of both ends . I have NEVER been so sick in my life. We were up all night long sick and going on 24 hours and although things have slowed down we are still vomiting. I called to let them know and they said they hadn't gotten any other calls and that they will let the kitchen manager know and the district manager and that they would call me back. They never called . Never again . read more

Do not order roast beef and cheddar sandwich. There was no cheese and the roast beef was over cooked to the point of being like rawhide. The potatoes were overcooked also and the skin was difficult to chew. This disappointing order was unusual from our previous experiences there. read more

This is like a healthier version of Panera..... if you just compare the Mac and Cheese McAlister's is much better and the meat on the sandwiches..... is a higher quality.... so soft and fresh and a very generous portion!!! Was skeptical (for no reason) and was happily proven wrong. We usually have a Sunday night tradition of ordering carry out and generally end up at Chili's. Wrong orders, disappointing food and lack of customer service has caused us to look elsewhere. Tried the soup, baked potato, and would highly recommend over any other place in town. First I will start by saying this location has fallen off with their salads and Sandwiches but let me start with the Good. During this visit we ordered the Chipotle chicken and Bacon Spud, side broccoli, Carrot Cake pick 2 chicken club and harvest chicken Salad Salad. The chicken and Bacon Spud was excellent its a must try. Steam broccoli was very good. Carrot Cake was good just a little too sweet for me because I don't eat alot of sugar so I would say try it for yourself. Now the Bad. The Chicken club use to be very good cut into triangles with the toothpicks. I received the three pieces of bread cut in half. The bottom layer was a big hunk of lettuce only with no meat, as it typically is and I have ordered thissandwich for years. When I tell you it was so much lettuce on the sandwich until I did not need to order the salad. It supposed to come with mayo and honey mustard. I asked for no mayo but they forgott to put honey mustard which is the highlight of the sandwich. Needless to say the sandwich was very dry and inedible. Lastly the salad, it was the chicken salad salad. Now the chicken salad was very fresh but the lettuce OMG. It was big chunks of big white stalks. I had to pick the chunks out and by the time I did it was barely anything. Maybe 3 forks worth. Not sure what happened to the sandwiches and salad but please please take more pride when preparing food for paying customers especially the loyal ones. read more

This place is a hit or miss as to whether or not they'll get your order right. The last two orders have been a bust, no to difficult, Recently I order the Reuben and expect the sandwich to be made as noted on their menu. Not so! Sauerkraut, NONE. Thousand Island dressing NONE. Ready at about 12 : 15 , NOT SO, waited in line until from 12:15 until 12:25. Foot hot, NOT SO. The last two times there the food was screwed up. The food was amazing but there was only one person in the front when I was there and it was the manager she was really good surprising that there was only one person though and it was the manager in the front she was tall I didn't get her name but she was one of the best hostess i've ever met she rang me up and gave me some good pointers and recommendations and then while I was waiting for my food I saw her running back-and-forth to the window helping out the back end. read more

I was looking for a place to pick up lunch to take to my wife so I decided to try McAllisters. I ordered sandwiches, soup, and salad on the app for pickup at 11:38. My wifes work is about 15 minutes away and she has lunch at noon. I arrived there at 11:35 and there were 2 people ahead of me inside the restaurant. There were only 2 servers up front. One was taking orders and the other was packing food coming out of the kitchen. There were a number of people waiting for their food both to go and in the dining area not to mention the drive-thru. The lady at the register went to check on the lady that was also waiting at the DT who was there when I arrived. After about 7 minutes the elderly lady on the register was prepared to take my order and I told her I was there to pickup my mobile order and gave her my name. She asked the woman packing the orders about my order as it was now about 11:42. The lady packing the orders said she was going to get my order packed up. At 11:55 I finally received my order and left the store. The lady at Drive-thru was still there waiting as well as the other customers but now there was a line of about 6 people waiting to order as I left. It seemed like the kitchen was staffed but not the front which slowed down service times. Needless to say I arrived almost 15 minutes late to have lunch with my wife and she had to eat quickly before returning to work and cut our time together in half. Did I mention it was my wife's 57th Birthday? Anyway we found 2 hairs in our soup and I had asked for ranch dressing but didn't get it. I understand that alot of businesses are understaffed but please give correct wait times and pickup times especially when using the app. If your going for lunch order ahead of time and order it for 15 minutes before you want it. read more

We've had now 2 bad experiences with the woman working in the pick up drive through. She is extremely rude and impatient and doesn't want to help customers at all. All I asked for was extra crackers, she yelled "I put crackers in there", slammed the window shut, and then hid in the back until I drove away. I was parked there waiting for her to come back and saw her sitting there as she refused to come back to the window. Over crackers ???? Like is it coming out of your paycheck lady? Visited McAlisters last night for the first time. This restaurant is a pricier version of Panera. Inside the restaurant you order st the counter and they bring you your food. I expected the establishment to look like a deli but it doesn't. You can order coleslaw or potato salad as your side. My husband had the jalapeño crunch sandwich which he said was good. I ordered the autumn squash soup which was also good but I was only give crackers no bread. I took our meal to go which came out pretty fast but I was concerned about how it was placed in the bag. They had no support for the soups which ended up upside down by the time I got home. read more

Ordered and paid online for a sandwich and the McAlisters Club Wrap for takeout. Opened the bag at home and the sandwich was great, but the wrap looked very small and skimpy. A quick "un-wrap" revealed that the cheddar and swiss cheeses were missing. Called the restaurant to let them know and received offer of refund or remake sandwich. Chose refund since DH had no desire to repeat sandwich run. The refund was never issued. We have been trying to support this business since it is new to the area, but come on McAlisters! When you screw it up, don't offer to make things right and then not follow through. That just makes customers walk away. read more

The following - supports that statement: We ordered the new steak and mushroom potato - minus the mushrooms because they were out of stock of mushrooms. I guess that happened - but the fact that the potato wasn't cooked all the way and hard as a rock is no acceptable. We also ordered the cup of chicken dumpling soup - served in a tiny container a rip-off cup of soup for $5.00. They must of been out of stock of dumplings because our ripoff cup had 2 noodles and no dumplings. Another ripoff was the side of broccoli. We had 4 yellowish not green pieces of broccoli. If you love your bacon cold and dried out then you'll love the BLT. You know how TV commercials sensationalize the product by making it look twice the size and packing it with ingredients and then when you actually get the item you think they must have given you the junior version? Well that could never happen if you opt for the King Club. It is so huge it is actually hard to bite into as it is hard to get your mouth open that wide. At about 11 bucks for the sandwich, a pickle and a side it is probably one of the best values out there as it is a shareable meal or multiple meals for one person. Good quality ingredients, flavorful and a great value. Can't lose with this choice. My husband bought the steak sandwich and although sized for one and not 2 people he said it tasted great. Before this one opened we would go to the Orland location. We were so happy to hear that they were opening one in Mokena! We've been several times and the staff is extremely welcoming and very kind. Today we stopped in and it was another wonderful experience! Susan took our order and before she could do so she asked to see our 3 month old that was with us! The staff is always stopping by to converse and make sure you're enjoying your visit and if you need anything. Every time we've been there Diane has been incredibly sweet and always striking up a conversation! Their special sandwich this month has me wanting to come back every day. Chicken avocado BLT! Everything about it is scrumptious! I got that with their potato salad (my favorite) and a Peach lemonade! So so good! read more

I recently had to cater for one of my facilities. I have to say that McAlister's Deli in Mokena blew me away. In rather short notice, they pulled it together flawlessly. She carried everything perfectly packaged to my car and even gave me her cell number if I ever needed anything again. She also emailed after, thanking me and sending me more information. Pleasantly surprised! The food was reasonably priced with nice large portions. I had half a New York Sandwich a half an Italian chopped salad. They were both excellent. The iced tea was fresh and good. The staff was extremely pleasant and the service was fast. The dining room was clean. We will be back. I have no need to go back to Panera now! read more

My daughter and I tried it for the first time and I'm pleasantly surprised. Prices are reasonable, food quality is fantastic and the service is beyond friendly. I had the chicken tortilla soup-a creamy chicken soup with a kick, served with tortilla chips. Great for crushing on top or dipping into the yummy goodness. My daughter had the 4 cheese griller-she loved it because it's not greasy since it's made on a panini press. Each of the 4 cheeses are melted into ooey gooey luciousness. We spilt a spud max. OMG the potato was as big as my head and filled with meats, cheese, sour cream, and black olives. Is this fast food? NO. You place your order and have a seat. Your food is prepared and brought out to you on REAL plates with REAL silverware. Dining room attendants circle around checking on you, refilling your drink, and checking to make sure your experience is enjoyable. A very sweet woman named Diane made us feel like I was sitting in her living room. It's Grand Opening Day, so please be patient and enjoy everything that McAlister's has to offer. We went to lunch there last week at 11:30 and there were a lot of people already eating and waiting for orders to go. My wife and I both ordered the French dip, she liked hers but I was disappointed. The meat is cut up so fine on the bun that when you go to dip it in the au jus the meat just falls out. The drinks they serve here are huge and the eating area was very clean and we were asked multiple times if we needed anything. No French fries on the menu and I thought the prices were on the high side for what you get. I did not find a compelling reason to go back again. read more
