Repeat customer to this location in Frankfort. Mainly using drive thru which has always been fairly fast and efficient! I use the mobile app and order before heading over :-) The Chicago style hotdog have all the usual trimmings and carry a great size compared to similar offerings from the local Joeys locations. The fries are on the thicker size, but nice and crunchy on the outside, just right! The milkshakes are thick and the chocolate ones correctly mixed. I have tried their salads and Nashville chicken sandwich, all good. Their prices might be a tad on the high side compared to others in this space, but the quality is there. My husband raved I would like this beef sand which since I have yet to enjoy one. To me the ones I had tried were mushy. Strictly a texture thing for me. Not this one! I enjoyed the flavor of the beef as well as the 'firmness' of the meat. I had it made the Rizzo way with provolone and red sauce with sweet peppers. My husband has been waiting for this to open ever since the first sign went up. We got back from vacation and lo and behold, it was open. It is constantly busy here, the lot is full and people flock to this restaurant. We had to try it. We went online and ordered but it was really slow and hard to use. Upon arrival, sure enough they had not gotten the online. The manager was on it in a minute and even comped the salad. I had a meatball sandwich with cheese and split a Caesar salad with my husband. First, let me say that this is NOT a staffing issue nor is it a food issue. I used the mobile app to place my order. Due to my current stage in life, I'm eligible for a discount on my drink ($.55 discount. Woo hoo!). I pick up my order and there's no drink cup. I first went to this place and told myself that it wasn't anything special. But now I have been back a half dozen times and find myself satisfied after every visit. We enjoy the italian beef sandwiches and the salads. A trip for two will usually run 20$ and includes everything to keep you full. The food was good and the order was almost correct. Two kids meals were supposed to have apple juice. Two empty cups were provided with the order. There was no apple juice in the drink dispenser. So I had to juggle a shopping bag, pizza and 2 drinks. I substituted lemonade.. My biggest beef (haha) is there is no way for them to bring the order to the car. (Today is Oct. 6, 2021) My husband stops there regularly on his way home from work and always orders Two, 10" beef sandwiches, dipped, one with peppers and one plain. Their drive through is not a drive through. It's a sit and wait 20 minutes through. Every car had to pull up (8-9 cars) sitting waiting for their food. Very unorganized, workers wandering around aimlessly bc there's so many cars waiting. Girl drove in front of us in the line and it was all just messed up. Also very expensive might I add. I am a new convert to Buona Beef and was happy to see them come into the Frankfort area. I grew up on Pop's and the Portillo's which are also excellent restaurants. I always felt that Pop's gave a better value and that Portillo's was a step-above when it came to the quality of the food. Buena comes in matching the quality of a Portillo's but still offering specials that also make it an excellent value restaurant at times as well. My go-to beef is a 10", you can get them in 7" or 5" as well, the "Big Hurt" way which is dipped in the gravy with giardiniera and I find it to be the perfect ratio of bun, beef and giardiniera. I've only had their fries once and wasn't thrilled with them so I tried the Parmesan chips which are excellent and way better than fries in my estimation. I like that they offer a couple of different iced-tea choices including an unsweetened variety. The service has always been good when I've gone, meaning no long waits for the food to arrive at the table and workers are always walking around asking if we need anything. I forgot to pick up napkins today, they're by the soda machines, and one of the employees brought over a bunch, excellent service. The interior is quite nice and gives off an upscale vibe. There are a couple TVs hanging with sports running on them and since they serve beer and wine it could be a perfect stop to check out a game,or at least part of one, on TV. Overall, an excellent choice for Italian beef in the Frankfort and Mokena area. One of these times I will order a smaller beef just to have room to try one of the chocolate brownies that they feature for dessert. read more
