    Southwestern Salad with side soup

McAlister's Deli is a decent lunchtime restaurant in Mount Prospect. We had the southwestern salad and a Turkey melt half sandwich - both were pretty good, not bad. The portions are fairly large which is good because they're not cheap salads/sandwiches. I love the iced teas/lemonade that they have at McAlister's as well. Overall, nothing very special but a fine place to grab some lunch at.

My mother and I went to McAllister's Deli for lunch on a weekday. The menu and feel reminded me of a Panera. The cashier took the time to answer our questions. We ordered the French dip sandwich and tomato bisque as well as the reuben sandwich and pecan cranberry salad. The food was delivered to our table quickly and hot. I was impressed with the taste and quality of our lunch. The prices were much less than I was expecting. Their menu is extensive, and there were many things I wanted to try. I'll be back to have more. I highly recommend McAllister's Deli!

    Southwest Chicken & Avocado Salad

Had McAlister's Deli for the first time today! I came in on a Friday around 6:00pm and it wasn't too busy at all - thank goodness! There were a bunch of people taking their food to go, but my friends and I opted for dine-in. The deli itself was standard and looked pretty clean. I will say, the portions here are plentiful. I got a half salad and half soup combo, and it easily could have been 2 full-size options. I got the southwest chicken and avocado salad, and to be honest, I felt like it was something I could quickly make at home. It wasn't anything special, there were like 2 wedges of avocados and very scarce chicken. My friends both enjoyed their sandwiches, so I'll definitely try one next time I come here. I did however really like the chicken tortilla soup! It was thick and flavorful. There is plenty of parking out front and it's located in a shared strip mall with other food options. I wouldn't necessarily recommend McAlister's, as it wasn't anything remarkable or necessarily rememberable, but I would come back and try a sandwich and get another one of their soups!

Half New Yorker on choose two

A pretty typical McAlister's. Friendly staff; food was first rate. This time we had the choose 2 option with half sandwich and salad for one person and half sandwich and ultimate nachos for the other. As shown in the picture below, the half New Yorker sandwich had an odd look to it but was delicious. Our only issue was minor and that was that the table was a bit sticky in places.

What I love about this place is that there's something for everyone! We had 12 people who had no issue finding something to eat and everyone's order was right and delicious. I ordered the chicken breast sandwich, I put on a ton of vegetables, the flavors together were amazing. My husband ordered the Reuben and it was hot and fresh. If you are a baked potato fan they have several specialty potatoes or you can make your own. McAllister's is definitely worth a stop for lunch or any time! The best part is that there are lots of locations across the country so there should be one near you, give them a try!

Terrific! I dropped by with my TMobile Tuesdays deal and had an amazing chicken Caesar wrap. So delicious!!! The cashier was also great and really helpful/patient with customers who were using the McAlister's app or the TMobile app.

I ordered The Brando (their Italian sandwich) and it was fantastic. The Calabrian chili aioli completely made the sandwich, I'd never had it before and now I'm officially a fan. The place itself has a cool old school Italian deli feel with plaid tablecloths, and the staff told me they just opened in June 2025. I grabbed mine to go since I was working the convention center, but it looked like a cozy spot to sit down too. It's a little hidden, but totally worth seeking out. Definitely one of those spots I'll stop at again when I'm in the area.

Inside you order at the counter and they bring out your food. It was pretty empty when we got there and there is plenty of seating space. The staff were very helpful with ordering and offered suggestions when asked. I got the soup of the day and the Scorsese, Jeremy C got the Brando. These sandwiches were HUGE. I had a regular and I still had enough to save a little for later. Sandwich was hefty had a good chunk of meat and toppings and the flavors! *Chef's kiss*. Loved the food! Definitely worth it!

There's also discrepancy in their menu and what they actually have available as it seems they also display items for the the cafe next door. We happened to arrive during happy hour so some menu items were discounted. They also have a complimentary salad bar. We ordered chicken karaage, potstickers, salmon avocado sushi, and I had the katsu sandwich. All the food items we ordered came separately over a span of 20+ minutes, with the sandwich arriving last and cold. Not only did the sandwich come on a cold sourdough bread, the meat also had an unusual texture and so I ended up throwing it out. The other items we ordered were lacking in flavor. The chicken karaage was prepared well but it had no flavor. I'm regret spending money at this establishment.

So we got out of the car and saw someone pull up in front of the restaurant and jump out at 11:59. As soon as the door was unlocked at 12pm, this customer went in, and a few others after them. This is a small joint, and it was already half full by the time we ordered, then sat down (they told us the table at which to sit). I didn't know, but asked, and found out that a salad bar and miso soup are also included. The salad bar was pretty decent, with fresh vegs. They even had French fried onions (my guilty pleasure) and a very good House dressing (ginger vinaigrette). The portions are enormous. The couple next to us got ramen, and it was practically overflowing. We ordered takoyaki (too much food, we didn't need). I had the Pork Katsu bowl and my companion had a Katsu curry. I wished I had ordered the curry -- it looked dark and rich and thick like pudding (not like a boxed curry). They also gave us a bonus piece of chicken karaage which was so large and crispy. I think I'll get the curry next time, or the ramen. We originally came because we were going to get a karaage sando, but get the curry.

It came as a great recommendation! We didn't have it for a while since we live the low-carb life but were thrilled to learn they do a "sub in a tub". I love their tuna salad/sub. Their bread is soft, back when I could eat it. They don't overfill it with mayo either and add some mild peppers or hot on request. I like that they don't have onions at the deli so it doesn't overpower everything else. My husband typically loves the club. They rolled a generous amount into a container and I used scissors to quickly and easily cut it. It was a perfect lunch and I have enough for another tomorrow!
