Found by accident looking for something else. A wonderful accident! A deli, restaurant and catering company, Fausto's offers a complete selection of hot and cold Italian sandwiches and entrees. The deli counter has many salads, cheeses and meats. I ordered the "Positano" half because I liked the sound of the ingredients and half because the Amalfi coast is one of my favorite places in the world. The sandwich includes prosciutto, black olives, rocket salad, a mound of goat cheese, a vinegar dressing on ciabatta. Even with my usual large appetite I barely finished half, but that's ok, it was a great leftover breakfast the next day. I can't wait to return, so many sandwiches I want to try, and I'm going to challenge the owner to come up with some combinations of my own devising. read more

Wow!! what a hidden find! It's a very quaint restaurant nice atmosphere nothing too fancy or over the top except that the food is very good. I had the pasta with some Italian sausage and peppers. I had meatballs about the size of tennis balls. The gravy delicious. It reminded me of my best friend's grandma's unbelievable gravy just like the old country. Best garlic bread I've had since Sabatinos Chicago. If you know good Italian cuisine , you'd remember Sabatinos. I miss that place. The Caprese salad was amazing. Definitely get that. The most low-key, underrated place in downtown Arlington Heights. It truly blew me away! I wanted to get a quick lunch since I was working at the library nearby. I wanted a fast casual place and somewhere I've never been before. I Yelped restaurants near me, and long and behold I was driving over to Fausto's. First off, this reminds me of a classic, humble Italian shop/deli. They have catering and dishes you can get by the pound, along with a menu of paninis, salads, pastas and pizzas that you can take to-go or eat there. I decided to dine in. I got the large Greek salad and a cup of their chicken rice soup. WOW. The soup was phenomenal, probably the best chicken and rice soup I've ever had. And the salad was huge, fresh, and vibrant! My first visit to Fausto's won't be my last! My friend and I stopped in for lunch on April 2. I ordered a grilled chicken panini and couldn't resist adding a side of pasta salad from the deli, which had lots of salads and entrees (squares of lasagna, stuffed mushrooms, etc.) to choose among. I got a small side dish, with half bow tie pasta salad and half pesto pasta. The sandwich was good, and I especially enjoyed the bow tie pasta salad. My friend also approved -- she tried a few small items from the deli as well as minestrone soup, which she enjoyed so much that she bought a quart to take home. The woman who took our orders was the owner, and she was very helpful and patient as we made our selections, and also checked on us as we are to make sure everything was ok. And it was! I'll definitely return to Fausto's, and next time I'll be sure to try a pastry from their dessert cases, which include cookies, tiramisu, cannolis and cream puffs. read more

I've been ordering from Fausto's on and off since I was a teen taking dance classes down the street. Back then my go to was the Caesar salad. It's the perfect Caesar salad. I still get it sometimes because it just hits the spot. Yesterday I got their Italian Beef with hot peppers and a bunch of cannolis for dessert. The Italian Beef was great and came with a container of gravy. That was genius because I love a dipped beef but they don't travel well. The star is always the cannoli. Their cannolis are the best I've found. Everyone else makes a weak tasting filling. But Fausto's is perfect every time. read more

This place was empty when I showed up and after trying the pizza and the meatball pasta dishes I could see why this place was very bad and they apparently make the food and then just reheat it in a microwave it appears. I was over all disappointed by the Deli and Restaurant with a small outdoor seating in a strip mall within Downtown Arlington Heights this Italian restaurant is not worth to go either for breakfast lunch or dinner. Went in yesterday with a party of 17!! They were so accommodating, kind and super efficient. The food was wonderful! I've never had salmon vesuvio, will definitely have it again. The food is definitely family style ; great sized portions and absolutely delicious. We also had pasta with mushrooms and peas, sauce was delightful. Aldi was great , they even chilled our wine glasses :)). We will definitely be going back, hidden gem in Arlington Heights. My sister and I rarely agree on pizza. But we both love the pizza here! Tried the Margherita Pizza (with Fresh Mozzarella, Fresh Tomatoes, Basil, Olive Oil) and added Sausage as an extra topping. So delish! Ordered from here for my dad's bday; he loved it. We all liked the fried Sicilian Arancini (Rice Balls), pasta and the Margherita Pizza with Sausage. Italian beef was decent but prefer Portillo's. Cookies were hard. Recently got a Vegetarian Pizza w/ bell peppers and mushrooms. My dad asked where the meat was, but we still liked it. Anyone remember and miss Fausto's when they were Italian-owned and actually served delicious food? That was about five owners ago. The menu is far from authentic tasting Italian, and the hefty prices are hard to justify. For example, they charge $8 for a loaf of semolina bread, which is simply absurd. The food is overpriced and not fresh. Ambience is basic wannabe Harlem avenue Italian style cafe. To add to the disappointment, I discovered that the place isn't even run by Italians, which might explain the lack of authenticity. The cashiers were rude, and the customer service was poor. I've been a long time customer. Fausto's had gone through an ownership switch in the last few years. Thankfully however, the pizza has somehow managed to stay the same. Their menu includes Italian specialties and some are pre made and kept within a refrigerated bakery/deli display case. These specialties can be heated quickly for dine-in or carryout. Between the two ownerships I've tried a few items but never found it all-too-interesting. Which is why my usual order was limited to a slice and a drink. On rare occasions, a couple cookies too. That was until recently when I got the chance to order a full pie and took it home. The pie looked so tasty I couldn't wait. I ate square cut slices as I drove. I'm not sure why it was cut square since I had requested it cut normal. (See another reviewer's gripe about square cut vs circular triangle slices.) I had ordered a margherita pie with a touch extra sauce, tomatoes, giardiniera (no oil) and fresh mozz. When I picked it up the counter guy told me it looked so good he wanted a slice. According to him, no one had ordered a similar pie during his time with the pizza joint. Before picking up my pie I had the strangest encounter with both a customer and the counter guy. See, I placed a dinner order by phone in advance of my pickup. I told the phone person I was already on the way but would wait in the lot till it was ready. When pulling up I saw a customer park and walk in. Some minutes later this guy exits and walks past my car peering inside my windows. He circled around and banged on the passenger side glass. I opened it a crack and asked what he wanted. He asks me why I am parked there and doing. I could have unloaded on the guy.. it's not like I was parking in his driveway at his house. I'm parked in designated parking for the pizzeria. The guy goes as far as "dinging" the pizzeria signage and pointing out that I'm parked in labeled parking. I was on the phone with family, so they're now asking who TF this guy is and why he's so bothered about where I am parked. I want you guys to realize. I'm a POC waiting on a fucking pizza in Arlington heights and a Caucasian dude with no affiliation to the pizzeria is worried about where I'm fucking parked? In the nicest tone I could muster I told the old guy I was waiting on my pizza but if he had any more questions he could kindly fuck off. I think I was pretty nice the whole way. Now all that was left was to get my pie and mention the strange parking occurrence to the counter guy. Wouldn't you just guess.. the counter guy claimed no affiliation to the customer. Went as far as saying that the customer likes pretending like he owns the place and talks a big game. All of this sounded like made up nonsense. It's my assumption that the counter guy and customer came up to false conclusions about me. If the pizzeria is having parking problems from folks that park in their spaces without doing business with them, I can understand this. They are located in a shared lot with a popular dance studio. There are "soccer parents" constantly pulling in and out of the lot. However, if people are parking a long time in their spaces, it wouldn't kill their staff to go outside and kindly ask people to move along. Or FFS invite them into your business for a hot slice! Since I'm unloading.. What is going on inside? The dining area is clean and presentable but the men's room is filthy. The toilet was soiled and unclean and the sink had mildew and dust that hadn't been cleaned in some time. Worse, was that the flushing system was in disarray. I had to open the lid and lift the flush manually because it wasn't working correctly. YUCK! When customer areas have such a dirtied look one can only wonder about other areas of the restaurant. Being the recent parking fiasco and untidiness/ disarray of washing facilities, I'll put some months of time before a follow up visit. If that.. read more

During Covid, my husband and I were trying to support local restaurants and we came across Faustos Italian kitchen. OMG! What a gem of a restaurant! The food is delicious, very fresh ingredients, great quality food and the desserts are exceptional. I had their eggplant Parmesan, have tried their soup of the day, a few slices of pizza and their pasta salad, all was very delicious and flavorful and very fresh! They have an extensive menu for both vegetarian and non-vegwtarian food. Everything I ate was pleasing to my palate and taste buds. Service is quick! Freshness and the quality of their food is a total plus! Good quality olive oil was another plus in their pasta salad! The place is very clean too! You will not be disappointed. Margherita pizza done right! The sauce was flavorful, the crust was crunchy and airy, the cheese and tomatoes were fresh. Friendly staff, and all were wearing masks. Most importantly, the person handling cash is not the same person directly touching the food itself after touching cash. The location's order counter setup is a bit cramped but they make up for it with a small patio outside and a spacious dining room off to the side. This place is definitely one of my new favorite bakeries, and has the charm and professionalism of a hidden gem business. read more
