When it was noticed they asked if we wanted to wait while they made it. The manager was nice and helped get everything sorted rather quickly. The food itself was very good but could use a little improvement. The coffee of course was fresh brewed. The club wrap was very good. My chicken salad sandwich bread was stale but chicken salad was very good though. The fruit salad was more like the scraps. I would have tossed it in the garbage than have served it. read more

My experiences with McAlisters have always been hit or miss and I've always been really patient and understanding with issues, but in the past several months, this location has taken a serious nosedive. It's safe to say I'm a regular, I order pick up 3-4 times a week, and there are a lot of things I like about this restaurant. The menu has a large selection of sandwiches, soups, salads and sweets, the company has a decent rewards program, and the dining area is generally clean and comfortable. With that said, these conditions do not make up for the consistently poor customer service and the numerous order errors / food allergen issues. I've lost track of how many times my order has been made incorrectly, packaged poorly or taken an excessively long period of time to be prepared; (and it's important to note none of these issues have occurred when at lunchtime when the restaurant is busy.) In the past month alone, I've been given someone else's order three times, I've been overcharged (and offered meal voucher cards rather than a refund,) had my sandwich cut with a dirty knife ( which happened to be covered in an ingredient I'm allergic to,) and I've waited 20 mins to be given my order because the person who answered the phone " forgot" to tell the curbside delivery person I had arrived. I've also been forced to pay for another order of soup when the curbside delivery person failed to put the lid on correctly and soup spilled inside the bag. I'm not a confrontational person and generally, I will bring up an issue politely each time it happens- but once I see a pattern, I simply go elsewhere. The fact that I've returned over and over should be a testament to how much I want this restaurant to work its issues out. I think the root cause of these issues is poor employee morale. I've heard the older short haired manager (I think her name is Theresa? ) berate employees in front of customers on many occasions and she consistently exudes a negative vibe. My most recent interaction with her made wonder if I should ask her if she was okay- because I genuinely thought something must be wrong because she was being so overtly rude. I stopped by during the slow period of time between lunch and dinner ( when most restaurants are dead,) for a curbside pick up of a sandwich and a tea. When when I realized that I was mistakenly given the wrong drink, I walked inside to request a replacement. Theresa busied herself by organizing chips and refilling cups and made eye contact several times without acknowledging my presence. Eventually, I spoke up and asked for a drink, to which she walked to the back room and yelled for someone to come to "take care of me." If she can't be bothered to help guests, what kind of example is she setting for her staff? Bottom Line: McAlister's has decent food and terrible service. Pooler parkway has a ton of other sandwich shops with better service and less issues. read more

I made a catering order for a company lunch - days in advance I'd like to add. I'll start off with what sandwich I had was good. However, with spending close to $500 I would have expected a little better service. I'll start with delivery, which I paid for, plus a tip. You would assume it would be delivered to my office (there is an elevator), but no the delivery driver called and said do you have a cart or something there's a lot of stuff. So actually, I delivered it to my office - they just drove it there. I ordered their Halloween Holiday Cookie Tray (for $26.99), which had nothing to do with Halloween and actually looked like slice and bake cookies from the grocery store - again they charged $26.99. I also requested pickles be included - not one pickle. Plus, not one napkin. Really if they are offering catering, they need to provide better all-around service. read more

This place is completely dead, and it took 20 minutes to get one sandwich to go, while all the employees are just standing around doing nothing. They didn't even acknowledge the delay. Poor customer service. Oh, and the actual sandwich? A big hunk of meat in the middle, all bread on the outsides, and literally half an avocado plunked down in between - not even sliced. Came in to grab dinner for myself with my mom. When we entered the restaurant I quickly noticed how clean the tables were and how calm the environment was. As I walked up to the register to look at the menu it took about 10 minutes for an associate to come speak to me and my mother. When the young lady spoke to me she pretty much stared while I looked through the menu. I ended ordering the pick two The Veggie sandwich and the Grilled Chicken Spud. I also grabbed a Oatmeal Raisin Cookie with Walnuts. The Veggie sandwich was amazing it had balsamic onions and an avocado mayo! Those two ingredients made the entire sandwich. The Grilled Chicken Spud was lack luster. The ingredients sat on top of the potato and lacked deep flavor. On the other hand, the Oatmeal Raisin Cookie was a great end to this meal. Overall this restaurant deserves a B. The Veggie sandwich is tasty, the cookies are large and filling, and the store's appearance was well kept. Pitfalls, service was slow and lacked friendliness and the Spuds can use more flavoring (the restaurant should consider making their spuds into mashed potatoes then mixing in the toppings). read more

I ordered the Spicy Southwest Chicken Sandwich with a side of steamed broccoli, which was very fresh and cooked perfectly. Everything was great right down to the pickle! The chicken in my sandwich was mouthwateringly tender and the chipotle mayo was wonderful. I left very full and could have afforded to take the second half of my sandwich home for later. Also, their bathroom was very clean. Always a bonus! I will be back to try their salads and other sides in the near future! My meal alone (with a water) was around $10! read more

Went in on 8/27/2023 at 8:30PM with my gf. Noticed the manager being kinda rude to the group in front of us (saying too much, not minding her business). She informed us that they were out of salads and potatoes but that was fine because we wanted sandwiches. She asked us if it was for dine in or to go. We said for dine in. We got our food in a to go bag but ignoring this we sat down and ate. At 8:52 a customer came in and asked if they were closed and the manager said yes they were closed. You are open until 9. Meanwhile we got done eating at 8:55. I got up and went to the bathroom. An employee was mopping in the area before the bathroom in which case I said excuse me may I use the bathroom and he said yes, I then said sorry for walking on the wet floor. My gf informed me later that the manager and the employee were talking bad about me, something like "couldn't he see that you were mopping". The place closes at nine. That does not mean you as an employee go home at 9. Get a new job if you can't handle the food industry. People are so sad these days. Last time we were at this same location (sometime this same year) there was a physical fight that broke out between two employees and the cops were called. I will never eat at this location again and I would recommend the same to anyone looking to go out and eat spending their money. This place is pathetic. read more

Absolute worst experience i've ever had at this McAlisters. This dude got my order wrong and gave it to a different table then TRIED TO HAND IT TO ME STRAIGHT FROM THE OTHER TABLE. I am not normally a McAllister's fan as they are expensive. But they have a variety of options including gluten free bread, two types of lemonade, etc and they have very big sandwiches, polite and helpful staff. Best part of this experience is there were so many restaurants closed or closing in the next five minutes as it was right after the hurricane. And McAllisters was like a dream walking in ... no signs of a hurricane hitting here... all quiet and helpful staff. Yay! read more

I would like to have rated this place a little higher because the girl who took my order was super sweet and really tried. Picked up veggie sandwich without the cheese and ranch, to go. When you take the cheese off the sandwich, it can be a little dry to I asked for options such as avocado or pesto. The had guacamole and she subbed that in. I love getting the Savannah Chopped salad, which is a perfect portion for lunch and has a good amount of chicken in it unlike other places who fail to put enough amount of meat in their salads. They have Pick 2 option for lunch, where you can pick two different things. For example, half a sandwich and a salad or two different kinds of half sandwiches. I have celiac disease and cannot have gluten nor lactose. While I was explaining it to the cashier, Bobby, he patiently waited for me to finish then got the manager, Michael. Michael pulled me into the office, confirmed my allergies and what I couldn't eat, and printed me out a special menu of everything I can eat. Both cashiers, Taylor and Bobby, patiently waited for my friend, Vanesa and I to throughly read the menu and decide what we wanted to eat. Everyone was so patient, kind, and attending to us. There aren't too many places that are considerate to my illness, but to go above and beyond like Michael, Bobby, and Taylor did...OUTSTANDING!!!! Thank you so much McAlister's!!! Well, this place was ok. We stopped in for lunch on our road trip to have something better than fast food. It had been a long time since I'd been to a McAlister's. Location was ok, around a lot of other dining and shopping options and a Starbucks next door. The inside had plenty of seating and seemed clean. I had the New Yorker (think Cuban) and it was good.
