Mac & Cheese that should not have been served!
    Amanda G.

First time here and last time here. The staff was great, shame the food was not the same. I ordered a club and chose Mac and cheese as the side. Paid an additional $.50 for that side and took one tiny bite and spit it out. The sandwich was more basic than I'd make at home and the Mac and cheese had something wrong with it... maybe it sat untouched in a warmer for hours? On the plus side, if you like soda, there's only one size, huge!

I absolutely hate giving businesses less than a 4 star review, but McAlister's Deli you need to make some changes! I'm a person of habit, once I find something on the menu that I like I typically stick with it. For a while now I've been noticing McAlister's going downhill, but chalked it up to be an off-day. Sorry, no more! The portion sizes are embarrassing. Looking back at my past reviews - I'm jealous of what they use to serve. Today I went with my norm, the choose two- broccoli cheddar soup and French dip. I paid ~$13 for a cup of soup and maybe 3" of a sandwich with one piece of meat on it. When McAlister's was at its prime the sandwiches use to be loaded with meat. Now, it's barely visible. The massive side of au jus is a complete tease. You'll be able to dip your sandwich in the au jus possibly twice. If you're lucky! The tea is perfect, but everything else is not worth the money. McAlister's your sandwiches use to be good, but sadly that a thing of the past.

Had a few bites before I took this picture. But at least I got it in. Lol!

My first experience with McAlister' Deli was through an introduction by a school event that had used them to cater our work lunch. It was obviously so good to the point that I wanted to try it again which I did. I ordered the Southern Chicken salad was phenomenal. I would definitely eat it again; however, McAlister's Deli lost a star due to the lack of customer service when I arrived in the store. It was clear that I was still on the clock because I had my work badge on. It was clear that I was unsure of what to do when picking up an order because I walked from end of the store to the next. There was a female wrapping cookies when I walked up to ask where do I pick up a to-go order. She mumbled something but it was clear that the ten minutes I wasted without someone acknowledging my presence could have been avoided. I could not figure out what the issue was. I would have walked out, but I was there to pick up an order for several other people, so I did not have that luxury. Although the food is good, I would take long consideration if I had to go there as an individual who wanted something to eat due to that particular experience. My advice to the manager would be to train your people to greet each and everyone as they walk in the door and make it clear to customers how and where to pick up to-go orders.

Went in around lunchtime during COVID. It was busy with a line since their power had gone off before we had arrived and had just come back up. They offered to get everyone in line their drinks while they waited to order. They did have a lot of their tables closed off for social distancing but some of it just didn't make since. They had more closed then open and for the amount of people ordering. If you wanted to sit down after ordering your food. I kinda felt like we were acting like vultures looking for tables to open up and trying to grab it before someone else did. Also the tables that were open were dirty and still had trash left on them from the previous guest. After circling twice we decided to pick a table that had someone trash on it and had to find someone to clean it off. Which was him just wiping the crumbs to the floor and no real wipe down... I had heard they had gluten free bread which I was excited about. Since I don't really eat bread anymore since going gluten free. I ordered their half & half lunch special. Half soup and half sandwich... the sandwich was great and super flavorful other then my bread kept falling apart. The soup was their vegan chili which was honestly sad. It was more liquid then ingredients. I maybe got a bean or two and some onions in it but that was about it. Overall, the sandwich was yummy and I look forward to giving them another go and trying out some of their salads next time.

Steady stream of customers is a good indication that the food is good. They really could use a second cashier to speed up the ordering process. The Reuben was good but really needed more thousand island dressing. The turkey pepper Jack cheese was also good but all the meat was on one side of the roll. There were at least 6 tables that needed busing the entire time we were there, it might be time to place trash cans in the dining area if there isn't enough staff to cover it. When we left the drive thru line wrapped around the building.

Ordered curbside through the website for a Sunday lunch. I selected the toppings for my baked potato, ordered a chicken soup and side of cucumbers and tomatoes. Maybe I'm just hungry but the soup was flavorful and hearty. The chicken was shredded inside and the broth has a lot of herbs and vegetables. I loved everything, it hit the spot. If I did have a negative... it was not enough cheese and bacon on my potato and those were the items that cost extra. P.s. - soup was wrapped in cellophane very well for transport home. It took 2 minutes from my arrival to departure.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Althing the place is currently understaffed, the staff did their best to keep the place running smoothly. I had horseradish roast beef sandwich and I love its classic/simple taste. We will definitely go back there soon again!

"No, I didn't Anna Mae, that was a gas station." "Yea, I know Will, that was PhatGirlz", replied Anna Mae. "Oh, I thought the GPS was off", replied Will. "Yea Will, it's the GPS..." said Anna Mae. And so as our Will and Anna Mae discovered what we all know who really enjoy eating delicious, tastebud tantalizing, tum tum satisfying outstanding home cookin know, your Chef/Owner here at PhatGirlz can really craft the best home cookin we tasted in the Savannah area. Yea man, it is good-oud! We decided to dined in, being tortured by the Leopoldo's ice cream case the entire time as our food was prepared fresh because we gave up ice cream for lent. But I have been distracted and stayed from our focus here. Anybody got some ice cream? We covered the ambiance, FatzGirlz's is located in a gas station with a very clean restaurant, concrete floors, and three, two top tables. So dining in has limited seating but is very pleasant. But fret not, they offer carry out meals which are very popular as there was a continuous stream of customers the entire hour and a half we dined that did not stop. Here is why we enjoy going to a restaurant, it's the FOOD! And the food here is savory, tasty, hot, perfectly cooked, and an awesome eating experience. They offered us the best corn bread we have ever eaten topped with a chef recipe Maple and Bourbon topping which tasted fantastic. We ate the Salmon, crabmeat and shrimp and I could not finish it because it was a large portion which almost never happens. So come prepared to eat. My lovely, pristine beauty dining mate had their kissed fried shrimp that were so light, the shrimp floated above the surface of the table waiting patiently as they danced into our mouths. The candied sweet potato's were divine, and the collard greens were perfect. You don't just enjoy this food, you savor every bite! We met our Chef/Owner, her Sister, and our Server who were all a hoot and a lot of fun to talk with in this Family affair restaurant. I could go on, and on here but do yourself, your Family, and friends a favor by piling them all into your wide ride, and slide on over to PhatGirlz so they can all, thank you, and they will, for helping them enjoy a great meal. You see, as it turns out the FOOD here is just outstanding. Enjoy!

Super friendly staff...kudos for that in 2026…read more Ordered to subs (one #13 and one #17). Both were good. Feel like portion size has shrunk. I'll chalk that up to the recent IPO and now that they are beholden to shareholders they are going to start squeezing as much out of every customer and sale. In this industry, that is achieved by lowering cost whilst also raising prices. Shrinkflation and compromised ingredient quality. Another one bites the dust...

Like everybody I have gotten used to less than stellar, fast food service nowadays given the challenge with finding good labor. But this Jersey Mike's Location really needs to reevaluate It's current employee roster. And starting with the Young gentleman who was the primary person making sandwiches the day I visited, they need to give this kid the pink slip or find a new way to motivate him because he was clearly not happy about being at work and seemingly took it out on the customers via excruciating, slow and sloppy customer service. From the time we walked in the front door to the time I finally paid for my sandwiches and left, It took almost 25 minutes. And I know you're reading this and saying why would you stick around that long but this was one of those days when I just wasn't willing to go somewhere else Simply because Service wasn't up to standards. But I should have. One of the problems is, they seemingly didn't have a good system for handling large corporate orders, while simultaneously serving regular customers. This was punctuated by two employees, consistently, crossing back-and-forth between the primary employees preparing sandwiches, which further disrupted time and precision. Three or four customers bought their sandwiches back to the front counter while I was in line because they were either made incorrectly or missing ingredients. I would definitely avoid this location if you have somewhere important to be or just need to get things done during the day.
