Really slow service. We ordered and it took a while but this is the service we expect here. Then we ordered a cup of chili to go along with our meal and it took over 20 minutes. There was no line and only a couple of other people in the restaurant that had already been served. There was other people that came in after our order and their food came out slow. Had a great lunch today, treated myself to their limit offering ranch & bacon potato. Once the ranch melts into the potato it's a blend of unexpected goodness. Very expensive for what you get in my opinion. Drinks are like $3 each so beware. I got a 6" french dip which was just ok, seemed salty. With the drink it came to almost $15. Not worth the money. I ordered the Memphian. Unfortunately I forgot to tell them I wanted it cold. It was so gross. They heated it and it was just a glob of congealed cheese and meat and very wet, soggy, bread. I ate two bites of the soggy, wet sandwich and tossed it. It was that bad, and over $17 just for the 12" sandwich. The spud was also dried out. There was only a couple of bites on the potato that weren't dry like the desert! They changed the carrot cake. It's no longer the one with light, whipped frosting. They replaced it with a heavy cream cheese filling that is way too sweet. Time to take a year off from McCalisters. read more

We love McAlister's and would have given you 5 stars, if not for the price. I got a half of a Turkey sandwich and half order of soup. It was very good. Although this is a chain deli, their quality seems to me to be fairly consistent across all of their individual franchises that I have been to. Although this is a general review based upon numerous franchises within the McAlister's chain mainly throughout the Midwest, the only exception between to the quality I've experienced between each of them is the level of cleanliness. Some are very clean, whereas some are a little lax on cleanliness. That being said, I've never encountered such a lack of standard that caused me to turn around and walk back out. If you are looking for a healthier alternative then your typical fast food restaurant that doesn't hit your wallet any harder then typical fast food restaurant, then this chain is among my favorites and is worth a try. read more

This is the second time we have ordered from this location. We use Door Dash and both times our food was perfectly made and delivered faster than we expected. My husband is in LOVE with the new Jalapeno Turkey Crunch. The bread is toasted and delicious. The bacon is crispy with fresh avacado. The meats and veggies complement the sandwich so well and the crunch of the jalapeno chips really sets it off. I always get the Italian with the Spud Max. Both are always delicious! Portland location of McAlisters is like being in Germany during Hitler. They yelled at my wife as she was putting on her mask as we entered. I saw them repeat this with other customers. Yes, there is a virus, but calm down. They are worried about masks, but not social distancing as they had a worker continually circling the restaurant. I know he walked by my table at least 12 times. Very uncomfortable experience. Restaurants complain about no customers, but no wonder the way they treat us. . read more

They forgot the sour cream and the butter for the baked potato, and the kids pizza didn't look appealing at all. The establishment has since been renovated and looks very nice so I was hopeful of my meal . The lady at the register was very kind and rang up our order, when it totaled to $40 for two people i was shocked to say the least . Been here twice so far during my stay in Portland and so far they've exceeded my expectations as far as going from bad to worse. The first time was marginally acceptable this last time it was terrible. My spud was extremely dry (old by at least two days) and barely edible, sweet tea was almost unsweet. Floors were greasy and it smelled like dirty mop water in the dining room. For the record 7:00 on a Saturday evening is apparently not when the 5 star reviewers come in to eat. I've worked in the restaurant business and this place in my opinion needs to be shut down, shouldn't have came here a second time, (was tricked by the name these people are ruining) there won't be a third visit. read more

Being a unsweetened tea drinker, I have not tried McAlister's Famous Sweet Tea or I never will, so I can not rate their Famous Sweet Tea, but their iced tea is very very weak. We have been there total of 5 times. Weird thing is they never welcome customers as customers come in. No "Next customer, please" or such as you are in the line to order your food. One girl is very friendly, and she is the only one does sidework keeping herself busy, when they are not too busy. Others seem to stand around inside the ordering counter and chat. read more

The dishes (hot ham and swiss & Turkey Hot brown) were less than impressive. We ate half and left. But I got the bonus surprise when I went into the ladies room, door wouldn't close, smelled funny (use bleach people) and an ACTIVE spider nest in the corner across from the toilet. We had a good experience at this location. The employee who took our order and checked us out was awesome. The name on the receipt was Reyna. Throughout our entire visit he was on top of everything. I ordered the chili cheese baked potato. This was a MASSIVE amount. I was able to take more than half of it home and made two small meals out of it the following day. The potato was very good and held up as leftovers very week, too. My husband got a HUGE order of loaded nachos. Really, we should've split the nachos. There was more than enough for the two of us. And they were GOOD! I had brought my bottle of water in, and I believe my husband ordered tea. With our dessert of two cookies for him and a ride krispy treat for me, I believe our total was around $26. With the amount of food we got that is a completely reasonable price to pay.
