Kid's night on Tuesdays?! Yes, please! After eating (kid's meal is free with adult purchase), I could send my child over to get her face painted or do an activity while I sat with a friend and could actually have a conversation. Delicious deli sandwiches, awesome macaroni and cheese, and fantastic sweet tea. Our "go-to" place for office take-out lunch.

Love this place. It's well priced and doesn't take too long even when crowded. I really enjoy the sweet chipotle chicken with Mac n cheese and the half sweet tea half lemonade is a must! Really military friendly too. read more

This place is nasty!!! All the booths benches have faint torn holes in them. The people there running the place were carrying on laughing have a good old time. Not sure if there was a manager present. This is just not what I expect from a McAlisters! read more

We went to this location today for lunch. I know on a Sunday they will be busy and we expect it to take a little longer. But service today was horrible! The table beside us got two plates that were not theirs and called the server back to take them back. The server walked back behind the counter with them and then brought them to our table. The spud they brought, that had been passed to the kids at the table next to us, was not what we had ordered, and we pointed that out. They gave the rest of our table their food and took mine back to the kitchen. Several minutes later they returned and said there would be an up charge to correct my potato. At which point I said never mind I would like my money back because after it having been on the other table I no longer wanted it. She walked away and several minutes later a manager came out to tell me they were going to fix my potato. By this time my family was done eating and I explained the whole situation and again asked for my money back. She said she would have to talk to her GM before she could refund my money. And she went back to the kitchen amd continued fixing food for others and never came back out to talk to us. We sat at our table for 15-20 minutes and a server came and said they were still busy and it would be several minutes before the GM could come talk to me. After about another 10-15 minutes I asked someone for the name and number to contact the owner of the restaurant with my complaint. Again a server came and informed me that they could not do that and that I could contact corporate if I had a complaint. After waiting almost an hour and a half we left. I had no food and no refund. I have eaten at McAlister's for over 20 years now. I have never had an issue with their customer service before, if an order is not correct normally they fix it very quickly and politely. Today was enough to make drive out of the way to go to the other restaurant in Fairview Heights from here on out. read more

I've always been pleased with the food at McAllister's. The portion sizes are just right, and the tea is very good, IMO. The prices are on par with the more upscale FF joints around. The French Dip and soups are there to please, and the Big Nasty is enough beef to satisfy any hunger! ;) read more

Great deli with a better menu than Bread Co. My favorite is the chicken tortilla soup, very spicy so be prepared for that. I have tried many different sandwiches on the menu and never been disappointed. The service is prompt and courteous and your glass will never get empty. read more

I've tried on several occasions to use the app to order but it never works. So I called this store and after listening to several messages and pressing several buttons I finally got a human being who said yes we get complaints about our app all the time. Fix your app! Also they need more help at this location. When I've dined in, there is limited staff and the wait has been long. I've been to other locations of McAlisters and they have been great! read more

I ordered the chicken and dumplings. They were delicious! My friend ordered the turkey and cheese. She said they were juicy. My other friend ordered the smoked turkey sandwich. She said it was also juicy. We would come back here anytime! Tonight is also St. Joseph's fundraiser night! read more

One of my go two's for a healthy lunch. Always friendly and courteous and the pasta salad side is to die for. Can't knock the tea either. Visit at least twice a month and am always happy. Did have some bad pasta salad last week but not typical. Highly recommend the great staff here! read more

I am updating my review FROM a five star TO a five star. I just can't say enough great about this place! They're always SO nice. I like everything from the warm welcome, how fast it is to order, their excellent choices, the quality, the price, the friendliness, the atmosphere, the COMMUNITY philanthropic involvement, the "Children eat free" Tuesday special and their Church Bulletin Discount Sundays! They're honestly the BEST. I love "The New Yorker and Chicken and Dumpling Soup" (pick 2) combo. They are great and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Aubrey. She's the manager there and she's just a very good person and kind. Also, they are a very well-oiled machine. They're always so quick. I enjoy taking business contacts there for lunch because I like to do business at such a great place. Okay, I just improved my already-five-star review. :) read more

The menu is super but the problem I have is with the value. It's either overpriced or undersized - take your pick. I don't have an issue paying for quality and they deliver there. Also, I've been hit and miss on service. Awesome at times to unorganized and chaotic with long waits at other times. I will look at the time of day to decide whether or not to return and make sure there's not many cars out front. Also miffed on the single dollar sign. A sandwich, chips and drink is above ten bucks. read more

It turned into a rip off when the lady manager left. I order a bowl of chicken and dumplings more than once a week and when I go to this location it's mostly two dumpling and the rest is broth. I've switched to Fairview for my visits. The employees don't ask for refills and they look more miserable than inviting. This place is not what it was before. read more

Decided to give this place another shot. Service friendly, food came out promptly, and my food order was correct. The only problem I had with this location was that on an employee on break. While I understand it is your break time, you are still wearing their uniform and therefore are still representing that company. The gentleman working was one table away from me speaking loudly into the phone...normally this isn't an issue, but the employee was going about why his house may or may not be raided by the police. During the conversation he dropped a number of profanities while degrading the female on the other line. Apparently this wasn't just an issue for me. The last time I came here (around 3 years ago), I wasn't too happy with my order. I don't remember what it was, but it had to have been some kind of vegetarian something. I wanted something different for lunch this day, so I decided to give McAllister's another shot and I am so happy I did! I ordered a veggie sandwich without red onions and substituted brie for swiss. Wow! It was amazing, but quite a bit of food. I asked for their broccoli cheddar soup as a side as long as it wasn't made with beef stock. I was expecting to either be told "I don't know" or "yes," but when the cashier asked another employee and she immediately responded with "I looked it up a long time ago and it's totally vegetarian." I was shocked. Normally, soups are not vegetarian at these types of restaurants. They were crowded, so I was ready to wait for a good minute. It only took around 5 minutes for me to get my order. Although it was over $9 with my sweet tea lemonade, I will still come back on occasion. read more

Ordered the Rueben and a Chili Bowl, chili in the bread bowl, had Sweet tea, Got my food fast, and everything tasted great, the rueben needs to be not so neat, ruebens are one of those sandwhiches were everything spills over the sides and is a bit sloppy, tasted great and the chili was fantastic, Id recommend it for any meal, reasonable costs. read more

I can't say I've ever had a bad experience at this location. Their food is good. Typical taste for a sort of deli, sandwich place. What stands out to me though is the outstanding service. They weren't prepared to make what I wanted to order (a seasonal item) but tried their best to make it anyway. They ran out of a soup we ordered but made it up to us with a replacement and treats for my kids. It goes without mention that the tea is always good as well. read more

Came in today for a late lunch, only 2 other people in here and still took several min to get waited on. Girl behind the counter was obviously new, and left completely on her own. Ordered a California turkey Reuben, got a regular one because she didn't know how to ring it up. The food here is good, but there is a serious management/training issue at this store. read more
