    Strawberry Pecan Salad
    Harry W.

Located just down the street from the Gateway Convention Center, expect friendly and attentive service in both the bar and regular dining areas. Though our entourage was a large one adding to an already crowded restaurant at peak dinner time, we didn't have to wait too long at all for our plates to arrive. Lots of casual Western/Country style decor throughout. The Food: Once seated, you get a basket of warm little dinner rolls with a slightly crunchy lightly buttered crust. Everyone at our table of 12 liked their entrees, whether it was beef, pork chops, or chicken. I ordered the.. Strawberry Pecan Salad (4.2/5) Despite the menu which says "Fresh mixed greens", we received iceberg lettuce instead , but also the mandarin oranges, strawberries, feta cheese, and candied pecans as promised , with raspberry dressing served on the side. Overall, this plate was fresh and surprisingly good with a few of the strawberries served a tad overripe. Better than hard immature berries. The steak plates that some of my friends had here looked delectable too! Plenty of parking all around. There's even a local city bus that runs all the way out here too.. Verdict: (4.2/5) Tasty Salads and Steaks, above average service and a convenient location just a couple of blocks from the convention center. Recommended!

My son and I stopped in last Saturday for lunch. Our server was attentive and helpful. I had the chicken fried chicken with green beans. The chicken was tender, moist and seasoned perfectly. I had the brown gravy with mushrooms it was delicious. My son had the chicken fried steak with green beans. His was very good with the white gravy. The only thing I would change was I missed the soy sauce on the beans. The fresh hot rolls made the meal.Colton's is your typical steakhouse decor with deer head and western themes on the walls. It was a great meal

Had a great dinner date at Colton's Steak House in Collinsville last night. The hostess greeted us at the door and immediately seated us with a pail of peanuts. Our waitress responded quickly with hot rolls and butter in hand. The restaurant was clean, food was good and staff was friendly. We will be back.

Colton's steak house was a nice place for a good meal. The restaurant was fast paced and very casual they had both tables and booths with a western style restaurant pictures of western and southern style on the walls very casual ambiance. The food was very good we had a party of six people and each person got something different and they said that the steak was excellent myself I got a sirloin med rare it was cooked to perfection came with a loaded baked potato and salad rolls everything was perfect. The waitress was very sweet .

My parents love this place. Total frequent fliers. Joined them for lunch today. Service started a little slow. And when my wife got her salad, she exclaimed that it didn't seem like a lot of meat. But the guy who brought the food immediately said, "we'll make you another steak". And the waitress was super attentive after that. So it turned out that she got this huge overloaded salad (and they didn't charge us for the extra steak) and I noticed on the way out that the waitress was also tending bar. So of course she had a lot to do and took a few extra minutes to do it. No worries. The food was really good, as it always is. I love their healthy salad and veggie options. I love the seasoning they put on the grilled chicken. The sandwiches and salads are huge. And I love the peanuts and the rolls. All up, it was a great experience. There's a reason Colton's is a crowd favorite.

My first time experiencing this steakhouse. It is one of my Mom's favorites. My sister and I came here for Mother's day. I have never seen a restaurant operate like they did. We walked in and were told it would be a 10 min wait. I was surprised because of it being Mother's day. Despite all the empty tables around, there were a quite few people waiting to be seated. About 30 min had gone by and no one had been seated. People started asking when they would be seated and we kept getting told "the kitchen is backed up they need to catch up before seating you". The manager comes out after about 40 min of waiting and tells us the same thing and to give him 10 minutes. I have never seen restaurants not seating people if they have open tables. People could have at least been ordering drinks at a table while waiting and filling up on rolls. Just bad management in my opinion. 10 min goes on 20 and they start seating people. Our waitress was nice and helpful. Our food came out fairly quickly despite the amount of large parties there were. The rolls were amazing, as was the honey. The steak was almost cooked perfectly minus when I got the end of it it was almost Raw and couldn't finish those few bites. The potato was good and piping hot. The sweet tea was perfect. It could have been a great experience if management would have prepared for and handled the Mother's day rush a little different.

I was greeted by Abby, my waitress, and she was awesome with a beautiful smile and personality. I ordered the double pork chops, veggie, and salad. Super delicious. Inside was super nice and clean Thank you ABBY for the best service and treating me like a VIP Highly recommend

During my visit, the on-duty manager informed me the company does not have an option to ring in gratuity through the system. He then instructed the server to manually write in a "tip" amount, stating that she would automatically add what the gratuity would be after she swiped my card for the original amount. When I questioned this practice, the manager was dismissive and rude, showing a lack of professionalism and customer respect. This conduct, combined with the improper handling of payment, raises serious ethical and procedural concerns.

Was not a huge fan. Salad seem small in side compared To other roadhouse type restaurants. And quality of the meat and potato's seemed off for the price. Server was on point not going to be my first choice but would go Back and try something different.

New York strip steak with baked potato and sautéed mushrooms.

We went to Colton's restaurant To celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. This was our very first time we went here we were very impressed with the food and surroundings. Staff was very polite and informative. I enjoyed the Salmon with a mashed potatoes. I did ask for the gravy on the side and they put it in the potato. My spouse ordered the New York strip steak, and he thought it was outstanding ! I enjoyed the New York cheesecake with caramel topping and my spouse ordered the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream and chocolate fudge topping. Everything was so delicious. This will be our restaurant to go to in the future. I was promised, warm cookies, being our first visit to this restaurant and , I never did receive these. But the food was outstanding. I hope to go again.

    My medium NY Strip steak.

She even brought us a complimentary cake for our anniversary. The food was great. For starters we got the pepperoni bruschetta. It was delicious. The presentation was amazing. The steak was very tender. I got the Porter's signature grill pepperloin and baked potato. It came with their signature mustard sauce on the side. The steak was so tender that I cut it with the fork. I didn't know what to expect but everything was excellent. She got chicken marsala over whipped potatoes and green beans. She loved it. We got the 7 layers chocolate cake and cheesecake. Whenever I hear, Pan Seared Sea Scallops or anything with Scallops, I'm sold. My scallops (4) were huge and the Risotto that they were served on was moist and flavorful. I also learned that they offer half bottles of wine and one of them is my favorite. I love, Quilt Cabernet Sauvignon. Server was unpolished for trying to be a nice steakhouse. I'll leave it at that. Cocktails I ordered were basic, no complaints there. I did request and get served what I wanted, but the receipt rang up a different higher priced vodka, whatever. The food was good. We had the marinated mushroom appetizer. I did intend for the stuffed mushroom. I didn't complain once it got to the table, not worth it. It was great. Main was chateaubriand for two. Sides were Brussels sprouts, French fries, and vegetables. The side dishes were all great. The steak we asked cooked rare, but it came out cold. The server did scoff at us when we initially requested rare, trying to push us to med-rare, I said "then let's make it rare+, like 128° center" and server said they would note exactly that. It came out as pictured.. we ate it all and enjoyed. I do like the char/grill taste with the Andria's sauce. Must ask for extra dipping sauce. I did buy two bottles of sauce at the store to take back home with me out of state. I didn't complain on anything and still tipped cash above 20%. I hadn't eaten here since 2019 and also got the chateaubriand back then. I think I will stick to coming back once every 7+ years for nostalgia and taking the sauce home instead.
