Did a quick off-site lunch meeting today. We were planning on going to another place but they were closed so we hit up McAlister's that was nearby and open. This is an order at the counter and find a table deli. After ordering we had our food rather quickly. Service was good and done with a smile...always get points for that with me. Lots of seating inside and very clean. I ordered the Spicy Chipotle Ranch Turkey Bacon sandwich with avocado and a side of Mac & cheese. The sandwich was delicious but the mac was kinda blah. On a scale of 1 - 10, it was good, not my first choice to eat at but a solid option.

I frequent this Deli occasionally. The corned beef sandwich brings me back to my midwestern roots. They are so good. Surprisingly the potato salad is top tier sprinkled with paprika for an added delight. The famous sweet tea is very good also. I always experience good customer interactions when I'm at McAlister's Deli and enjoy dining in. They have an awesome rewards program too. If you've never been to McAlister's add it to your places to try!

Ruben sandwich-takes some effort to get your mouth around this fella!

We were completely unsure of what we were going to find in a deli in a strip mall, but we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Out running errands with my aunt, we were ready for lunch. We thought we'd give McAlister's a try. Yum! I headed to the counter while she grabbed a table. The counter help was friendly and efficient. We ordered a Ruben sandwich (!) and the Spud Max. Wow! The sandwich was loaded with corned beef- by all reports very tasty. The potato was epic. Huge and loaded with goodness. Needless to say, we both took boxes home. Well done McAlister's!

McAlister's, How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.... Great service, great food, great space.. and vegetarian chili?! Waaa?! This is one of the best sandwich shops I have ever tried. The selection of sandwiches come loaded with the freshest foods and breads. You will not go hungry here! Besides the sandwiches they have salads, soups, deserts and "spuds!" Yep, you read that. Loaded potatoes of every kind. They also offer a deal called a "choose 2". Exactly how it sounds. Half of anything they have on the menu and add another option to that. It is a great deal. If you want a hearty sandwhich... or salad...or soup or spud... or a great desert.. go to McAlisters!

Delicious Sandwiches and More This was my first visit to McAlister's and it has now become one of my favorite sandwich shops. On this visit I ordered the Club and a side of potato salad. My sandwich was loaded with moist lean turkey, ham, bacon, cheddar, Swiss, and the best tasting honey mustard. As much as I enjoyed my sandwich I really enjoyed the potato salad, with chunky potatoes, creamy mustard and egg dressing, ot was the best potato salad I've had in a very long time. I definitely would recommend friends and family to give McAlister a try..... you won't be disappointed.

Sandwich is amazing! Tea is amazing! The lady in the front who took our order (didn't get her name) was super sweet & helpful. Brought the to-go order to us at our table when it was ready and took our teas and topped them off before sending us on our way. Clean and friendly environment. 100% recommend.

New Southwest Steak Spud-best I've had in years!
    Jon M.

This was my 1st time at a McAlisters and I was McWowed! I had the New Southwest Steak spud with mac & cheese, cucumber salad, broccoli c heddar soup, large signature ice tea & last but not least NY double chocolate cheesecake. The spud entree was top five I ever had with alot of succulent steak slices, cheddar cheese sour scream and the potato was huge-enough food for a whole day and only $12 is a great value. The mac & cheese was perfect-thick, creamy & delicious. The broccoli cheddar soup was also a top five ever item for me! The NY double choc. cheesecake was rich, dense and super delicious. It satisfied my regular chocolate craving. Service by Manager Hector, counter staff Tara & Ryan was top 1% at any restaurant I've patronized. This restaurant is run extremely well! The dining area is large, very clean with a pleasant upbeat ambience. This is the best deli restaurant I've been to in Tempe and top five in Arizona.

Afterwards, he mentioned that he tasted it and agreed about our comments- I appreciate that level of attention. Shortly after, the food arrived. Spicy pork tacos for me, and BLTA for my wife. The tacos looked a little overdressed. I was so wrong. Flavor and texture were balanced perfectly. The tortillas were firm, but again, perfectly suited to the juicy pork, that had a teriyaki vibe. Sprouts, carrot and cucumber toppings worked well, despite my expectations. The BLTA was HUGE. Great flavor. Both entrees were ordered with sweet potato fries. Unusual cut to them, but seasoned perfectly. I paired mine with chipotle aioli and ate every last one. My only complaint is that I'm only spending one evening in the Phoenix area, and won't be back soon. I would eat this food three times a week without hesitation.

5/5 -- One of the Best Middle Eastern Meals I've Had in Years!…read more Kabizza was a fantastic find in North Tempe and easily one of the better Middle Eastern restaurants I've been to in years. I ordered the kebab plate, while my mom ordered the chicken tikka plate. Both came with a generous portion of seasoned rice, hummus, pita and a very fresh side salad. My kebab was very good -- 4/5. The meat was cooked extremely well, with a great char on the outside while remaining moist and tender inside. I personally thought it could have used more seasoning to really make the flavor pop, but that's a relatively minor criticism. I'll definitely order it again because seasoning can sometimes vary depending on who is cooking that day. The chicken tikka, however, was absolutely perfect -- 5/5! The chicken had exactly what you want from grilled Middle Eastern food: a beautiful char on the exterior while remaining incredibly juicy and tender inside. I wouldn't change a thing about it. The sides were also 5/5 across the board. The rice, hummus and salad all tasted remarkably fresh. The hummus was smooth and creamy, and the salad had crisp vegetables that tasted like they had just been cut rather than sitting around waiting to be served. Everything on the plates worked together really well. The restaurant is located in a plaza that certainly isn't the fanciest or most upscale in N. Tempe, so don't judge this place by its surroundings. Inside, Kabizza is clean, comfortable and casual, and ultimately the quality of the food is what matters. I also thought the prices were reasonable considering both the quality of the food and the generous portion sizes. The gentleman who took our order was friendly, and our food came out surprisingly quickly. Kebab plate: 4/5 Chicken tikka plate: 5/5 Rice, hummus & salad: 5/5 Freshness: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Overall experience: 5/5 Kabizza may be an unassuming neighborhood restaurant from the outside, but the food punches WAY above what you might expect from the location. I'll absolutely be back, and next time I want to explore more of the menu. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for fresh, flavorful and reasonably priced Middle Eastern food in Tempe!

The spices in the kebab and rice were perfect. And falafel was very nice with the right amount of spice and no greasy flavor. The reason only 3 stars? The staff was slow and at times non existent. We had asked for an extra plate and the guy disappeared never to be seen again. Well, until we left we saw him Nextdoor sitting at the smoke shop. Also the interior needs some work. Atmosphere not good here and the booths are definitely 2nd hand. I will certainly try again though, because there is so much more to enjoy on this menu and the food was good. Side note. If you get a plate dinner, it is plenty for 2!!

They even have a live monitor of the temperature of their beers for you to see. I haven't been to Twin Peaks in a minute and recently came here for my friend's birthday dinner. Although I was seated in front of our spin class instructor, it was Saturday, and I'm allowed to live a little. I ordered the sirloin steak and their dirty blonde ale. The steak was ordered medium-rare and came out well-done. Eeks. I wasn't going to complain though because I figured I can just take it home and try to save this overcooked piece of steak. Plus it was on the thinner side so I wasn't entirely hopeful that it'll be cooked at the correct temperature. So with a healthy level of expectation, you can have a really great time here. There's also a bar space that runs along the window that separates the small dining room and the patio. There are a few tables inside as well as some bigger tables on the patio. The patio is nice with lots of shrubs right outside the rail. The murals on the wall are pretty darn cool - - they're like enlarged historic photos of the area. I love them! And I'm not sure who's giant face is hanging on the ceiling but it's short a spark conversation. The menu here has a little something for everyone. There's the regular loaded fries and wings, salads, and a nice election burgers. We ordered the Philly Salad and the Very Summer Salad with a side order of fries. They make their own ranch, and it is good. I will say they don't seem to skim on salad ingredients either - - the Philly salad was covered with shaved beef, and my berry salad had a lot of chicken and tons of blue cheese. The fries were delicious - - slightly seasoned and crispy. This place is clearly dog friendly. In fact the day we went there was a sweet Pitbull named Daisy who literally hopped up on a bar stool and sat there like a little angel the entire time. The bar had a dog full of water that they sat down on the counter next to her owner's beer. They also have dog biscuits to give.
