What's there to say about Olive Garden? I recently went back for the first time in years so my kids could experience the glory of the breadsticks and salad. The service was great, and my kids ate so many breadsticks they were basically swimming in salt by the end of the meal. I ordered the lighter chicken parm and really enjoyed it. The kids meal portions were actually great too. My daughter loved the gnocchi soup, and my husband went with the salmon. And honestly, the little pile of classic mints left on the table at the end felt like such a nostalgic touch. The only thing we could have done without was the screen on the table constantly tempting my kids with games throughout the meal. That said, I do appreciate the convenience of being able to pay right there instead of waiting around for the check. Overall, a fun throwback visit. read more

Olive Garden is a little slice of class and elegance in a dreary and bland world. This Tempe location is no different, with friendly ambiance, classic decor, and the good food you'd expect at Olive Garden. Usually there isn't much of a wait here, but weekends can get tight sometimes. Most of the time, the food delivers here and is cooked decent. That's not to say it's 100% perfect, sometimes they mess up on cooking broccoli. Nonetheless, some underrated dishes I recommend their zuppa toscana soup, Eggplant Parm, and their steak. Olive Garden isn't known for steaks but everytime i've had their steak it's good experience. Like all Olive Gardens, you can "hack' the menu as you get free soup or salad and breadsticks with every meal. So you can of course eat plenty of breadsticks and soup or salad, then you can take most of your actual meal home and get two meals for the price of one. Also they have $6 take-home pasta meals which are also a good value for a lunch. So you can essentially squeeze 3 meals for just over the price of 1 meal. One last point, if you have a good waiter/waitress, your experience will be 2-3x better than with an ok waiter/waitress. Come here for a good dining experience! read more

I ordered lunch for pickup this week. I ordered the chicken gnocchi soup, breadsticks & Alfredo sauce for dipping. You get two breadsticks with the soup, but I ordered more to take home for dinner. I scheduled the pickup time for 11:10. I got stuck at work, and was five minutes late getting there. After I parked & checked in, it took six minutes for them to come out with my order. The breadsticks & Alfredo sauce were cold. The soup was barely warm. I am not blaming it all on them since I was five minutes late, but it was disappointing. However, it has been a theme of getting cold food the last few times I have ordered from here. I ordered a pickup order from the Tempe location off Elliot and both of the meals I ordered came with little to no sauce so I called about a potential partial refund or new meal and they offered some free sauce. I got extra sauce in a small cup and then when I tried to show the lady the picture of my food to prove I wasn't bsing she just said ok. Just weird because over the phone they didn't seem to believe me. The manger said they put plenty of sauce and actually had to "correct" her employee for putting to much but I beg to differ. Super disappointed with my experience trying to place a large catering order. I went into the store because I needed some guidance with a big catering order for 20 people. I wish I had gotten her name, but the woman who helped me seemed visibly irritated the moment I approached her. When I asked if they were busy, she sighed and said yes, which immediately made me feel like I was inconveniencing her just by being there. I explained that I had questions and needed help figuring out quantities. Instead of offering any guidance, she repeatedly said "each tray feeds six people" in a tone that felt dismissive. Every time I tried to clarify or ask what she recommended, she just repeated the same line without actually helping me plan the order. I left feeling frustrated, unwelcome, and honestly shocked at how little effort she put into assisting me -- especially for a large catering sale. I ended up going to a different Olive Garden location, and the experience there was night and day. The staff member who helped me was incredibly patient, kind, and walked me through the entire catering setup with enthusiasm. He made me feel taken care of and valued, and I ended up placing two create-your-own pasta stations and my full catering order with him. The contrast between the two experiences was huge. If I were the manager, I would absolutely want to know that an employee is losing business because of attitude and lack of customer service. Myself and my daughter visited the Elliot road location for lunch yesterday. We always opt this location as the service is very good compared to the chandler Blvd. one. As always my daughter loved her fettuccine alfredo pasta and i took the minestrone soup which was not even warm. I specifically request for extra hot, as I like it that way. My last experience with Olive Garden was at Metro Center. The food was okay, but the bread sticks had a strange taste! Then, on Mother's Day I had the occasion to dine with family at the Olive Garden in Tempe. There were 7 of us and I think everyone except me was satisfied with their food. I am not an expert on Italian food, but I was not thrilled with my Chicken Parmesan. I have had much better elsewhere. There was no crispness to the chicken coating. It was just soggy! The taste was passable, but the texture was not! The sauce was not memorable either. Rather generic! For good Chicken Parmesan, it is hard to beat Anzio's in Phoenix. I called in to place a to go order because I was unable to order it online and the employee a woman answered the phone and was extremely rude! She yelled at me and said she would not take my order. I had the toasted ravioli appetizer as a meal; Nico directed us to the automated system on the table to place our appetizer order however, he actually placed our order on the system HOWEVER as I looked at this system, I noticed it was filthy. It was so dirty that it was evident it had not been cleaned for days. There was caked on sauce, dirt in the corners, finger prints.... I mentioned it to Nico, who just apologized. Spoiler alert: it was an all around great experience at this new to me Olive Garden location! All locations look the same to me, but a decent atmosphere/ambiance to each cookie cutter location. Weekend dinner. It's always a favorite for my kids. Extensive menu and less wait than other nearby restaurants. I called ahead and swas out on the list. It really made a difference because I waited less than 10 minutes and they were very close to forecasting seating time. It's such a valued option because nearly all entrees come with soup or salad. First of all the server, crysta took 25 minutes to come greet us. i was seeing the time exactly. our breadsticks and soups came at 40 mins. she was ok overall not too mean not too nice. just meh. when my chicken and gnocchi came it had 0 gnocchi dumplings. i asked for sirloin tips to be well done and they were medium rare. even on my receipt it said medium rare so i know it was a server mistake. only checked up on us once throughout the whole meal. didn't offer any refills. food wasn't that good. horrible expe overall and i wouldn't come back to this olive garden again. read more

The waiter was excellent! He was at our table a few minutes after we arrived. We initially just ordered the typical water, tea, etc. before making our food order. He returned within a few minutes, and so he did not slack in service at all through our meal. We ordered the fried calamari which was served nicely warm but overcooked. My order of cheese ravioli was definitely not made in house. It came from a frozen bag or box which was heated up and served with a poor quality canned red tomato sauce and some pre sliced not fresh mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce. The salad was plentiful and the side of soup which came with my cheese ravioli was good! So if you are not particular about your sauce (white or red), and buy pre made jarred sauce or buy pasta (enriched/low quality) then you will be fine with this restaurant. The restaurant needs a good face lift but everything was clean, tidy and presentable. The restroom definitely needs a better cleaning even though it was clean but not enough, imo. Am sad. My question: are the first orders of the day left overs from the night before? I ordered tour of Italy for an 11:30 delivery and I am literally 5 minutes away. The food I got, the noodles were glossy and crispy and that's the egg noodles for the Alfredo as well as the lasagna noodles. The chicken breast I couldn't cut through with a fork and then had to use a knife. My grandson got chicken tenders which were the smallest things I've ever seen and mashed potatoes were flavorless no gravy no nothing. Nearly $10. We sat in the back by the kitchen and noticed that no one in the kitchen was wearing hair or beard nets, and no gloves in the kitchen at all. I didn't get the soup because I can never finish it all. My server was pretty attentive. I asked to have a few extra peppers and olives and just a few croutons. Sometimes they seem to over do the croutons. After I finished the sever asked me if I wanted a salad to go. The guy sitting at the table next to me had asked for his salad with no dressing and this one already has dressing on it, so I said yes. I stopped here for dinner with a few friends last night. It was around 9pm so it wasn't super busy, and we got a table immediately. We were seated in the back so it was quieter and less busy, but there was a huge table with a birthday party in the next room over that was pretty loud at times. The food itself was good. I got the chicken fettuccine alfredo and it was creamy and fresh. The chicken was juicy and easy to cut. I had some left over but since I'm visiting from out of town I wasn't able to take it back with me to have the next day. Our server was nice and attentive. The food came out quickly and she made sure that our drinks were refilled when they needed to be. This location is in a shopping center so there is a bunch of parking. The Neverending Soup, Salad and Breadsticks is a great lunch option. If you're pressed for time, there's little wait, so you can eat and be on your way. Plus, it's discounted during lunch hours. If you're craving carbs, Olive Garden offers a menu with plenty of options. I appreciate that if you don't find exactly what you're craving, they'll make an effort to customize your dish with a variety of pasta and / or sauce types. You can even bring home an extra entree at a discounted price to reheat later. On a recent curbside pickup visit, an item was missing from the order, so I had to drive back to pick it up. Stopped at Olive Garden on Weds 9/4. For dinner. Roman was my waiter. Had the grilled salmon, broccoli and salad with iced tea. Roman always takes good care of me. I have become a regular there as a result. The food is always hot and tasty. Roman is a great waiter and has worked there for yrs. The restaurant was pretty busy. I had a short wait to be seated in his area. That was no problem at all. I used to go to a different Olive Garden but started coming here because the food here is consistently served hot and fresh.
