It also isn't typically laid flat like cold cuts, but rather grabbed with tongs and piled in top the bread. I would give 0 stars if I could. After placing a pickup order I got there isn't wasn't ready they asked that I pull forward to spot A to wait no big deal I did for 45 minutes and watched them hand out orders to people who had pulled in behind me and waited less time. They possibly had pickup times before mine but when I went in to get a refund and go grab a quick lunch somewhere else because I couldn't wait any longer my food was just sitting there. McAlister's had me at spuds and sweet tea... Some of my favorite things in life. Staff was so friendly to us and our 2 dog. They even gave them dog treats! We ordered the chipotle chicken and bacon baked potato and the McAllister club sandwich. The winner hands down was the spud! It was seriously the size of my face. When it came out, my boyfriend said, "wow they put 2 potatoes together!", but I was 99% sure it was 1 giant potato. I ended up correct (as always). I've never had anything besides a standard baked potato with sour cream and butter, so I enjoyed the chicken, chipotle sauce, and bacon. The club sandwich was average, but still delicious. We also ordered a sweet tea, which was the perfect sweetness (not overly sweet). I appreciated how they even offer refills. Although I'm not local, I'd go back in a heartbeat! The service was simply not great. Our cashier, Sxxxne, seemed really bothered to take our order. When asking questions about the brand of chips they have (we have kids with allergies), she shrugged and said, "I don't know". She was sure to emphasize the up charges for chili (I appreciate the knowledge, just would have been better with a more pleasant attitude) and when asked for a plain (baked) potato, she said "we don't do that". Apparently we called it by the wrong name and had to work through that (if you didn't do a plain potato...in Idaho...that would be odd). Prices are a little higher but the food is amazing! So fresh and tasty! The salads are crisp and the baked potatoes are perfect.

We have repeatedly been shorted side dishes, shorted whole meals and have had sweet tea instead of regular tea on more than 3 different occasions in the last 6 months. Always ask for the pickle, never get the pickle. It sucks when you pay for items that aren't delivered with your order. And getting them to refund items is a nightmare assuming you can even get through to them at all. Management states things are changing but clearly, they're not. I'm no longer going to be a glutton for punishment. We will eat somewhere else from now on. read more

She went over the menu and said that the Choose 2 was pretty popular: Choose any 2 Half Shareable, Half Salad, Half Sandwich, Half Spud or Cup of Soup. So, I went for the Orange Cranberry Club and the Spud. And in the middle of placing the order, they yelled from the back that they were out of spuds. She asked me what other item I would want, I asked if I could get the mac & cheese and she said yes. She also said that because it was my first time there, I get a free cookie. I chose a white chocolate macadamia (which was sweet and had a good amount of white chocolate and macadamia nuts). Choose 2 - half orange cranberry club and half order of mac & cheese, $8.49. As I was sitting at my table waiting for my food to arrive, I was reading the menu up on the wall behind the order counter. Choose 2 with a half and a half is $8.49. Orange cranberry club - a whole one - with a side of mac and cheese is $8.49. Huh? So, I could have ordered the full sandwich and the side for $8.49....? As I was thinking about this, my food arrived. Orange cranberry club: we take all the turkey, ham and toppings of a McAlister's classic club and then replace our creamy honey mustard sauce with an orange cranberry sauce that's perfect .... - and it was. It was really tasty. Bacon, turkey, ham, mayonnaise, orange cranberry sauce, cheddar cheese, swiss cheese, tomatoes, spring mix greens, on hearty wheat bread. That's a lot of stuff. That's a lot of good stuff. The mac and cheese was super creamy and delicious too. But that sandwich was phenomenal. I saw a lady walking around delivering food and talking to staff and thought she may be a manager, so I stopped and asked her about this whole $8.49 business. Did I just pay the same price for half the food? She sort of danced around the answer ... but said I was correct. She said something like "yeah, if you were more hungry and wanted a full sandwich you could have gotten that ... " - - for the SAME PRICE. She even tried saying that the menu prices hadn't been updated yet ... ? I was annoyed, but not mad or rude. She offered to get me another half sandwich, and she asked for my receipt because she was going to adjust it or something and I told her not to worry about it. And I proceeded to thoroughly enjoy my half sandwich that maybe yes, I would have wanted a whole one of. Then another girl comes over. She said she had heard that I was questioning the menu/price. I had the same conversation with her, and she said something like it would have been a deal if I would have ordered a more expensive side like most people do. What? Their explanations made no sense. But maybe I'm the dummy here. She too asked for my receipt and I wouldn't give it to her, I mean I need to pay for my lunch, I wasn't gunning for a free lunch (plus I had already gotten a free cookie). She comes back later and tells me that she put it back on my card. Whyyyyy? I told her she didn't have to do that. She was super nice - they both were in all the interactions - and said she knew she didn't have to but that she didn't want me to leave feeling bad or taken advantage of. And that right there is why I am giving them 5-stars: customer service. The food would have gotten 5-stars from me, but the price deal would have knocked it down. But the fact that they were so polite and really wanted to do right by me and actually listened and cared about customer service goes a long way - where a lot of other places fall short. Later the girl that took my order came over to apologize too! What? No, she didn't do anything wrong. She was super thorough. I mean I guess she maybe could have known that the full sandwich and side were the same price as the Choose 2 if you ordered what I did? I'm not even sure. I love the salads, they're greens are always crispy, the chicken is tender white meat thinly sliced, cheese is OMG - my favorite part, and the dressings are phenomenal. Spuds are HUGE people- like bigger than my head huge!...(ok maybe not that fat...but close). They are not stingy on the toppings either. My fav soup was a butternut squash soup that was seasonal, but the potato soup was delicious as well. And let's face it.....their sandwiches are everybody's favorite. My son loves the "New Yorker".
