Always a solid menu with tons of options. Went in a weekend when it was packed and they were still pretty quick with the order. Watch out for the potato's and the amount of calories they have.

Great food and friendly staff. This is our go to spot before we see a movie. Lots of flavor choices for any picky eaters. Great sweet tea along with some other favorites. This place is always clean and well staffed. Kris helped us today and walked us through using the store app during our visit.

Yum! I recommend this one. Got Turkey sandwich, cucumber salad, potato soup. Fresh. Service was terrific and very attentive. A great deal for portion.

The last time I went to McAlister's Deli that was when I used to live in Mississippi. I swear I didn't know Texas had one until I saw this location near my house. This place was packed with kids running all over the walls, parents screaming at their kids, and people who love to stare at you. The cashier had a sarcastic attitude and acted as if he didn't wanna be there. Now, the food was pretty decent except it isn't cheap. The sandwiches were $7+; for two people my total was about $20. I ordered the Sweet Chipotle Chicken sandwich and wow it was amazingly good. As I bit into it, I could taste a tangy sweet sauce blended with chicken breast pieces, oh and the bread was soft. My significant other ordered a chicken salad sandwich and he said that it was delicious too. Our sides were mustard potato salad and mashed potatoes. My mustard potato salad tasted like it was store bought. I am pretty sure it was store bought and I don't mind about that. There really wasn't anywhere to sit unless you really wanna sit near some rude kids and their obnoxious parents, so my significant other and I sat at the back table near the restroom. It really wouldn't have been my first choice, but I didn't really have a choice. The guy who brought us our food said, "Wow, its nice that yall were able to find seating." The cookies are pretty good and they big too. I really can't say that I will be back. Just the fact that this place was packed with noisy kids really turned me off. I might just stick to the one in Mississippi where most of my high school peeps work at.

If you come here please try the CHICKEN and DUMPLINGS!!!! So good! We normally get it with the bread bowl. Honestly we never come here just to eat sandwich or anything else. We only set foot in here for the chicken and dumplings! Lol. Today we also got the "just a spud" which is actually two potatoes with melted cheddar on top that comes with sour cream. I mean it's a spud with cheese. Can't go wrong I got the ham and cheese toastie. Very good. Melted together with ham and cheese and tomatoes. Comes with a cold slice pickle. Take a bite of the pickle followed by the sandwich and yummmm. Mac and cheese as the side.... not crazy about it. Got their famous tea unsweetened with a pump of peach flavoring. I'd say it's good. I mean anything is better than southern tea. At least I don't feel guilty of sugar overload with this one.

We traveled to Galveston to visit the store and restaurant firsthand. For years, we followed Ronnie Maceo's story and were saddened by his passing. Thankfully, his daughter, Concetta, has continued the family legacy. We were fortunate to meet her during our visit. She was incredibly gracious, and spending time with her made the experience even more memorable. The food was absolutely delicious, and we couldn't leave without stocking up on spices and sauces. It's amazing how much history, culture, and tradition are packed into this one place. The gumbo roux is the perfect rich, dark color, and the flavor is everything you hope for--authentic, hearty, and reminiscent of New Orleans. Concetta also shared the weekly specials, giving us even more reasons to return. Needless to say, every future trip to Galveston will include a stop at Maceo's. I highly recommend adding Maceo's to your bucket list. See you there!

My wife and I ordered a muffuletta and a turkey sandwich along with small cups of gumbo and red beans and rice. All were excellent. The service was a bit slow, but we arrived about the same time as the Sunday church crowd, so I think that's to be expected. The restaurant is also a store, and they have a good variety of products, despite being rather small. Definitely worth a trip if you're in the Galveston area!

We did not know that they made all of their food to order. We waited around 30 minutes to get our food, but well worth it! If you do not feel like waiting and are in a rush, this is not the place for you. Please come back when you have time to enjoy the atmosphere and the amazing food. I was telling one of the servers to please pass along my compliments to the chef and the owners. I was having a rather rough morning on our first visit. The best way I can describe the deliciousness of the food was that I went from being a little bit meh, to a strong to feeling like I was having a warm hug. I ordered the biscuits and gravy my other half ordered the berries and cream cinnamon French toast, and my little ordered the Mickey Mouse pancake with cinnamon. We came back another day and all ordered the same thing again, and it was just as amazing as the first time. The inside of the building is quite rustic. Even though you are waiting a bit for your food, there is so much to look at that time just passes by. Even in the bathroom will keep you occupied, and not just with the normal activities . The staff was amazingly friendly. On the second day, the gentleman server did not know whether the Mickey Mouse pancake should have the cinnamon bun toppings on it (you know,...because kids might start bouncing off of the ceiling), or sprinkles and whipped cream. We requested the latter and he came over and put on a tiny show for my little. The gentleman made a fun little show of putting whipped cream on Mickey and let my little decorate his own pancake. Definitely a 10/10 experience and we will be returning when we are around these parts again.

My boyfriend got their sandwich that was similar to an Italian sub, which comes with the olive spread on it. He liked his sandwich, but felt the olive spread was overwhelming and scraped most of it off. He later said that had there been less of it on the sandwich it probably would've been better for him. My stomach was a little upset, so I was looking for something milder. So I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich off of the kids menu. Maybe it's just me, but a grilled cheese sandwich is American cheese on white bread, grilled. Here, apparently children eat cheddar and Swiss on a grilled roll. I asked to hold the Swiss, and went with straight cheddar as American was not an option. It was OK, but nothing to write home about in my opinion. Apparently this is a popular spot, as the tables were full both before we arrived and after we left, but unfortunately, we did not have an overwhelmingly positive experience.
