Bought a part for my truck. 2 gasket type seals. 2 came in the sealed pack. Was told the package was considered 2 separate items and charged 2x the amount. I have called and talked to a few people in the part department to try and price/order . They have told me that they would call me back and never did. Another time i ordered 2 nuts and bolts and it cost me more to have it shipped than the price of actual parts. They lost my order the first time and had to reorder again which costs me energy. This was the Aurora location I was in longmont area. not that far! Why so expensive to ship 2 nuts and bolts that cost no more than 15 $ I sure hope and pray that customer service gets better ! Mc Candless is the worst. Everybody is an idiot. They take twice as long as any other repair shop. After a first visit that was horrible, I gave them another chance since I only needed my dpf filters cleaned. They again performed like the bad news bears. Over a week in the shop and after 4. Days I call them, and they ask if I wanted all of my filters clean. Why does filter have an s on the end. I'm never going back and I suggest no one else does either. read more

McCandless is awful. They don't tell the truth and take five months to make repairs. Who can keep their truck off the road for five months, especially doing the SAME transmission repairs that their sister Colorado Springs facility did? It's madness! Don't try calling them because it's a constant ping pong between employees and shifts before your question is remotely answered. Privately, the other employees complain about Jamin Woody and his leadership style. I wouldn't go here because it is a mess! There are no definitive drug screening rules for employees. If I would have paid $1.00 for my international truck it would have been too much. My suggestion is to walk away from any international truck they are junk and the repairs are slow and way too expensive. One may think oh I got a good deal on this truck only to find it can not be worked on by anyone but international and when it gets to McCandless you might as well just close your business down if you depend on the truck because you won't get it back and when you do it will cost you more for the minor repairs than it did for the truck to begin with. My truck went in for a stupid DPF only $3000.00 go a head I need my truck. A week later oh it needs EGR valve. $3000. I need the truck I got a job to do. Go ahead. Oh the mechanic can't change the egr because the turbo is in the way the bolts are seized up they twist the bolts off so the turbo needs replaced $3000. Oh now all the sensors are bad $3000. Oh and all the parts will cost $20 thousand to put back on. Got another call another sensor is bad please call for another price gouging. All repair that can't be done without hooking up to their exclusive computer!!! Never buy an international truck!!!! One would be better off buying a couple of wore out mules and a buckboard to haul what you have to haul as to buy an international truck. The job would get done faster. read more

It's really quick. That's really just to get you in there my Truck has been in there for a Whole week and a couple of days. They tell you they will call you and let you know what's going on. Hello my company had a horrible experience at this dealership bad service 0 customer service bad mechanics fraudulent charges. We went in with a 2016 International with a diesel leak from the fuel pump it was Saturday morning. They asked my permission to diagnose the truck,I have the ok they did it. They came back saying they need to change the fuel pump. Shop manager told me he put an order it will arrive the following wnedsday. We waited for four days team drivers at the local motel. On wendsday when I called to get an update, shop manager told me no one ever diagnosed the truck and no part have been ordered. When I asked him why I was told totally different story and what am I doing there for 4 days he stayed quiet up until now no one gave me the answer. They ended up starting the work on wnedsday owner Corey McCandless got involved. Later that day he sent me invoice for $2100 and asked for 50% of the payment to start the work. I did pay $1000 later on that day he told me that the master fuel pump is out too and that warranty does not cover anything.( When I found out it does cover every) he raised the invoice to $3800. On Friday the truck was fixed they took it on road test (charged me for the road test $500) now it was leaking coolant. I realized that this people are messing things up on my truck to make a dollar I immediately asked for it to be released. Corey McCandless told me that nothing is covered under warranty, he advised me to pay the remaining of the balance I remind him about the $1000 that I already paid out of $3800 so I had a balance of $2800 he said ok. He went ahead and charged me the full amount of $3800 so fraudulent! Over charged me by $1000 wasted at least4 days for no reason.now it's been 3 days that the truck is out of there we're taking it back to another International dealer ship with the same problem. So this is what they do. They take a defective part from another truck they'll say it's yours tell you it's not covered under warranty charge you arm and a leg for it (without any authorization as long as they have your account info ) also submit it to warranty to get payment from them as well. These guys are weasels. If you have any other option exercise it. They are slow on the work, they never meet deadlines and have an excuse for every failure or misrepresentation. My truck always sits waiting for parts for the most simple fixes or complex ones. Any other dealer certified shop I've been to is fast, honest, reliable. These guys have minimum, ton of lead in their pants and their mechanics are never at work it seems. They will flat out lie to you to about when to expect your vehicle if any estimate is given at all. Always short handed or some other excuse. Very poor customer service unless your a woman of course, then these guys act like they aren't tied to a dam rock and move the gut from behind the desk! They used to be super fast anytime we came in. Now it's just a huge waiting game to get into the shop. I had a reservation for 6 a.m. for a simple brake adjustment. I got her at 612. Waited for 15 min. In the service office. While everybody looked at me walked by me without a simple hello how can I help. Finally got a work order made at 630. For a brake adjustment. My truck was finally brought into the shop at 730. It's now 943 and I still haven't heard anything. When you do go ask for info they seem irritated that you're even coming in and bothering them. STAY AWAY FROM HERE . I brought my truck in with engine issues , which it had a warrenty . Which the engine should have been covered , this dealer did everything possible to find something with the engine and blame it on me . Which it took over 35 days ? I just dont see how it took that long , well then they said I needed to pay 23,000 dollars . After calling them back and telling them this price is outrages and I might contact legal help , just by saying that the price all of a sudden dropped to 14,000 . Long story short my truck was there close to 50 days , I had to pay 14k even though I had a warranty. This DEALER SHOULDN'T EVEN BE IN BUSINESS , IT'S THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVIVE EVER (DAN) . AND THEY REALLY SCREW CUSTOMERS OVER . This was my 1st time and my last time giving them my business . I even caught them in a lie , I ended up taking my mechanic in there to see the engine he asked them if they have pressure tested egr cooler the service manager said no , but Dan said yes ? Stay away from this place at all cost ... trust me on this folks these ppl in mcandless are outta control ... there techs don't know what they doing.. had my truck there almost 2 months and everything they touched on my truck was either improperly put back together and most places they destroyed beyond fixing... like taking my valve covers off and then strapping All bolts and don't even tell me I had to find out driving home with it smoking... they replaced my starter that they burned from cranking it to turn the wheel from moving the truck back and forth and didn't even tighten the bolts and improperly installed it, I mean come on starter has 3 bolts and they couldn't do that right... bottom line is there a bunch of jackasses who don't care about you as a customer... they don't care about getting you on the road seems like all they care is how to tell a lie ... if they would focus on Good service as much they do on robbing ppl and lying they would've be okay ... scammers all of em at mcandless on 32nd st in Aurora.. if you wanna pay top dollar for Mechanics to learn on your truck and basically destroy your whole truck then come here... the mangers and supervisor are pointless they never know what's going on ... this place needs to be shut down and Cassie and the owner should be put behind bars ... read more

My government entity has purchased equipment for years from McCandless. Their service department used to be top notch. What used to be fast response, quick turn around, and excellent work has slipped. The last 3 trucks we have sent back for WARRANTY work that should have never been broken in the first place have turned into nightmares. The last truck I was called 3 times to come get the truck only to find that the repairs were not even done. I wasted 2 hours each time going to pick up a truck that was not yet complete. My advice is to go buy a new truck somewhere else. read more

Not sure where to begin, after receiving an estimate for a new motor in an International box truck, it started around $16,500, then once I approved repairs, it just kept on climbing until it reached just shy of $27k. Ouch! Due to whatever inexperience it was, they show the lack of knowledge to provide the customer with the right information. I understand that some other issues may have been discovered, but not to the level of $9k. Example- a $2400 wiring harness needed to be replaced per McCandless mechanics, WRONG, in reality only a portion needed to be repaired. Although I didn't really have a leg to stand on, truck being torn apart and already committed to the new engine and all, what am I to do but let them keep working on it. THEN, after what was only supposed to be a maybe 5-10 day repair (I have in writing mind you) it was over 6-8 weeks. Truck finally gets finished and ready for pick up, I have it on the road had it back to shop within 2 weeks, for radiator clamps not being tight enough and spraying coolant all over the brand new engine (after 40 bucks in coolant to GET it to McCandless), professionals huh?! THEN now 3 weeks into operation, the high-pressure fuel pump goes out. Try to get ahold of Ownership, of course they are too busy to call me back (Question....$27k for a new engine on 1 truck, customer has 4 other trucks, hmmm, YEP I would call them back to try to earn ALL of their fleet business, but NOPE). So then the truck is out for ANOTHER 3 weeks. Needless to say how much revenue I lost out on then, along with truck rental costs, all on account of their faulty products. They sold me 2 batteries 1 has a dead cell. I was told 4 states away to return the batts to the original location 1500 miles away. I walk in after 100 bucks in jumps i paid out and it burned up a 105$ alternator. This place says i have to buy a set of batts and wait for them to get their refund before i can be helped oh and i have to fill out all these special forms. SO I TRADED MY NOW CANCELED CREDIT CARD AND 2ND ID AND I HAVE A 800$ JUMPBOX. Thanks Mike in service u just gave away company property. I want a refund on my 2 batteries that are junk after 1 yr and i will be glad to return this jumpbox to the mcandles in Wyoming. I remember when they wanted 20 bucks for a nut for the batterys stupid. I had high hopes for a company with such a fun name to say, McCandless (see it's fun!) although upon having two visits to this business I have found it not to be a fun experience unlike its name suggests. I waited vastly too long to receive any service from their staff, who seemed like nice dte (down to earth) people except when I got to know them they weren't nice at all and it really hurt my feelings. The second experience with McCandless I was greeted with a pleasant, purposeful, and polite voice on the other end of the line. They were the epitome of a fine modern gentlemen, I thought for sure my first visit was just a coincidence. I soon found out that his niceties were just a mask and nothing had changed from my first visit, this also hurt me deeply. He said he would call me back with prices for a parts list. I gave him a proper gentlemanly 2 hours before calling him and he had the prices I inquired about earlier and just never called me back.
