Deceptive Service and No Accountability - Longtime Customer Lost I've been a Big O Tires customer for years, but after my recent experience at the Flatirons Mall location, I can no longer support or recommend this company. I brought my truck in for a prepaid synthetic oil change, alignment, and tire rotation -- part of a long-standing service package. Before dropping it off, I marked my rear tires with a Sharpie to verify if the rotation would actually be performed. When I picked up my vehicle, the marks were still in the same place. The rotation had clearly not been done, despite the paperwork saying otherwise. I raised the issue with the store manager, Jesse, and showed him photographic proof. A technician named Key insisted the tires had been rotated, but once confronted with evidence, they quickly performed the service they had claimed was already complete. I also knew ahead of time that a piece of shrapnel was lodged in one of the tires. I asked the staff three times if they had noticed anything wrong with the tires. Each time, I was told no -- a basic inspection should have revealed it immediately. When I asked Jesse for the number to Big O corporate so I could report the incident, he gave me a fake number. I eventually submitted a formal complaint online and later received a call from someone named Casey at corporate. He was dismissive, vague, and clearly uninterested in resolving the matter. At that point, it became clear that this isn't just a one-store problem -- it's a company-wide culture issue. When management and corporate both deflect responsibility, it tells me everything I need to know about how they value their customers. After years of loyalty, I've taken my business elsewhere. My local stop for oil changes and checkups, plus the occasional minor repair, like when my windshield fluid wasn't dispensing, or when I had something dragging underneath the chassis. They send coupons regularly via email so I can pretty much always get $20/off synthetic oil changes. Making appointments in advance is easy either online or over the phone. The waiting area is pretty drab but could be worse I suppose. I'm not a car wiz so I appreciate that they go over their findings and don't pressure you to get anything you don't actually need, just recommendations and a heads up what might be needed on a future visit. The checkpoint printouts they give you after a tune up are helpful. My one gripe is that their time estimates are usually pretty bad, you should tack a full hour onto whatever they say. But other than that, I've always had fairly smooth transactions here. read more

I had a problem with a different Big O years ago when after changing my trucks oil they neglected to attach my air filter cover. I only noticed this when as I was driving down the highway I heard a clanging sound under my hood. It was the air intake lid flying about freely under the hood. I decided to try a different Big O for an oil change special they advertised. My online appointment got messed up some how and I never received a call. When I went to the store they said I should have called in but the email I received stated that someone from Big O would call me. So they changed my oil and when they were doing this they called me with a laundry list of items that need repair. Of the items they listed one I was aware of but the others were bogus. They said I needed rear brakes, that was done 10,000 miles ago with new rotors. The car is 20 years old but the oil leaks they speak of are so minimal that between oil changes no oil is lost This is the last time I do business with Big Oh no. read more

Tire pressure went on- came to Big O Tires in Superior at 9:30am and mechanic named Isidro nicknamed "Cowboy" put air in my tires. Drove off but tire pressure light never went off by 10am. Drove to Flatirons Boulder to check out what was wrong... Big O Tires mechanic set my tires to 80PSI!! Were you trying to blow up my tires to get more business????!!! Very unhappy with the quality of tires and poor service at Big O Tires. They recommended their own brand of tires for my Ford Expedition, which I followed. I paid over $1,100. The tires were warrantied for 60,000 miles and 3 years. In less than 3 years, after about 36,000 miles, the tire tread wore out. They admitted the tread was worn out and was worn evenly but denied my warranty claim, admitted that the tires they sold me were the wrong ones and tried to upsell me on "better tires." Not ok! * Update on the bad service I posted. Lana from Big O commented (below) and asked me to reach out to them via email. I promptly did a week ago and they did not respond, which makes me feel that their response was only for show. If I could give this place zero stars I would. read more

I had a snowblower tire that was flat and no longer seated on the rim. I thought the value stem was bad. Austin was able to re-seat the tire on the rim and it turned out the valve stem was still good.... 3 stars due to mixed ratings. Visit on 8/13 for oil change. * ZERO stars for the building. It was literally 90 degrees in the lobby because of no air conditioning and the sewer gas was so strong, it made me sick. Had it not been for the front counter lady rendering me the aid I needed, my condition could had easily turned into a very bad one. * 5 stars for the front counter lady (Allie?) for taking the extra effort to help me and staying positive despite receiving some awful verbal abuse from others because of the heat and sewer smell. * 5 stars for services received. It was done quite quickly and they even filled my washer fluid without asking nor charging me for it. I've never NOT been charged for filling washer fluid before, so this was a very pleasant surprise! I would love to recommend to others because the staff is top notch and they go above & beyond to take care of your needs! ~BUT~ I cannot honestly recommend to anyone as of now because of the poor building conditions. Hit curb and needed 2 new tires. I dropped off the car and about 2 hours Later Tom called to say he could not get car aligned. I asked why and he said something is way out of whack. I asked what needed fixed and he said he wouldn't know until he "Started throwing parts" at it.I sai no and do what he could. This is a very shady Big-O tire store. Go to the one in Louisville on South Boulder Road if you need a reliable Big O Tire store. Since I live nearby, I have tried them a few times but always regret it. Both times I went to get a flat tire fixed. Both times they said they wouldnt do it and I need 4 new tires! I took the car to another dealer who told me the tires were fine. This time they told me that one tire was shot (ok fine) but also said the other 3 were not safe. This is a big fat lie. read more

I bring my 4runner here for tires and brakes only. Every single time has been great. The most recent time, I needed new front brakes and all tires, Matt C. Went above and beyond with this service. They found that the front driver side caliper had a brake fluid leak. They were able to acquire a new caliper, but found it was defective as well. I wasn't going to be able to drive the car home, so Matt went way way way above and beyond and gave me his personal credit card to cover the cost of Lyft's to get me home and to work the next day. They will even deliver my 4Runner to my work! Not once did they try to oversell me. The tires are reasonably priced, and the service is as well. I will continue to bring my car here! read more

Well, this place has gone majorly downhill. I went in with a nail in the tire of a brand-new Forester and - after looking at it for 5 seconds - the Big O representative said I'd need 4 new tires. I get it with all wheel drives that it could be possible to need new tires, but this one had about 1,000 miles on it. So then he backtracked and said I'd just need 1 new tire, given the newness of the vehicle. I decided to wait and later found out the nail was small and never penetrated through the tire. I don't fault Big O for not knowing that - you wouldn't until you pull the nail - but don't immediately jump to needing 4 new tires on a brand new vehicle! The other major issue I had with this place concerns their COVID-19 protocols (or lack thereof). Two employees I interacted personally with wore no masks, and said nothing about it. Another person I interfaced with wore a mask that barely covered his mouth and left his nose completely exposed. I finally - politely - asked the gentlemen I interacted with the most about his lack of a mask and he said he had bad asthma. Fair enough, and sorry to hear that, but perhaps say something at the outset about that - and then KEEP YOUR DISTANCE! I was repeatedly backing away from him during our interactions and he'd continue to close the gap. The last straw was when he brought me paperwork to review and, as he approached, exhaled strongly (like a sigh) in my direction! C'mon man! So disappointed I use the Big O in Longmont and they set the bar to high for this location, they didn't reset the maintenance light on my dash, they didn't update my sticker for my next oil change and they didn't top my fluids off. I have brought car in on 3 separate occasions and even though I asked for the 21 point check they failed to do it. They appear to be rushed to get out before closing and skip services. If they would have dine the checks they most certainly would have had additional business. They should turn cars away if work cannot be completed in timely manner. When asked about tire rotation upon picking up car I was told it must be requested in advance and there was no time. In one occasion I showed coupon up front and after ringing up sale was told to raise with Mgr next time I brought car in. I just hope the rush to get out does not compromise quality or safety. Everyone here goes above and beyond to offer the best service. They do a surprising amount of stuff for free, especially if it involves something you bought from them. I got the impression they were actually doing what was best for me instead of their bottom line. Knowledgeable about way more than tires, I trust them to service my car more than Firestone and other competitors. Honestly Firestone sucks compared to them. AVOID THIS PLACE AND ANTHONY! In December I came into to this location because I needed a new tire and it was a convenient location. I had 3 perfectly fine tires and one tire leaking air with no tread and 65000 miles on it. All other tires of the set were recently replaced except this for this one. So I knew all I needed was one tire and one tire only. Anthony was extremely unpleasant to deal with regarding this, he told me I couldn't get just one tire or it would ruin my drivetrain since i have an AWD vehicle.... when I told him I would go elsewhere if they weren't willing to replace it, he quickly changed his mind about the damage it would cause to my drivetrain and quoted me for one tire. After replacing only the one tire, and refusing to do an alignment, they did an "inspection" and presented me with a lengthy list of problems found: Damaged/Leaking CV axle that needs replaced Worn Lower Radiator Hose needing replaced Replace Spark Plugs Replace Wheel Bearing Flush Rear Differential The list went on and totaled over 1.3k+ A month later, after the holidays, I called back and spoke with Anthony. He was immediately able to pull up my service record and rambled off the list of work I supposedly needed done. I asked him to send this over via email, the next day when I had still not received it, I called back and spoke him again, now all the sudden he couldn't find it, was busy, and hung up. I'd assume he put together I had no intention of completing the unneeded work. Now when I call up there I get the run around about how busy they are and how he will get back to me with the email, its humorous honestly. Bottom Line: Do not trust these clowns with your vehicles, especially not Anthony. Instead go to Midas on Walnut in Boulder. They were extremely helpful and after aligning my vehicle, I filled them in on my poor experience and it turned out they actually knew of Anthony! Two thumbs down BIG O TIRES! read more

Big O Tires for the past two years has declined. I have been coming to this location for the past 15 years but now they can't figure out why my battery dies each morning after two new alternators, belts and a new battery. I asked them to run a parasitic drain test which they said they would do, but when I bought my car in for the 3 time they said they can't run that test and I had to go to a dealership. They gave up on my car after I spent $1,300 and it has the same problem as before. There are plenty of Youtube videos showing how to do the test with a simple volt meter. Techs stealing things inside your car including in compartments, lying about what service you need (I personally replaced my cabin and engine filters before I went and was still quoted for them as being dirty), forgetting to close the latches on the cabin filter housing, air in tires are overinflated and inconsistent, forgot to reset maintenance light, interior including steering wheel was left dirtier, etc. Avoid this Big O. read more

The girl that is a manager here needs to take a customer service class and learn how to run a business. I brought my car in because the check engine light was on. The guy working on my car is really friendly, but doesn't seem to know what the problem is. He told me it could be any possible reasons. Well, I brought it in for you guys, the expert to help fix the problem. The manager comes out rudely and said that they don't have the parts and that I need to order it from another shop in order for them to fix it. Isn't this a auto shop? Shouldn't they be able to order the parts? She rolls her eyes and says it's not their job to get the parts. The manager has always been awful, but the workers have been awesome.
