My experience working with All Star was great from start to finish and exactly what you would hope for in a contractor. Dave responded quickly to evaluate the project, he was attentive to my concerns and what I needed, and he presented me with a range of quality and price options. Based on my research and competing quotes, the cost for my chosen option was reasonable. I wanted better windows and I knew they would take a while longer to manufacture. Unfortunately, we were up against a deadline with winter coming and weren't able to sneak the job in before the weather turned consistently bad. It was definitely worth waiting for though. On the day of installation, the crew arrived on time, were very professional, and they did a fantastic job. I would definitely hire All Star again for another project based on price, quality, and service. (This next piece will not be of interest to everyone, but if you are a single female homeowner, I think you know what I'm talking about when I say that a genuinely respectful contractor who listens and doesn't just flex, lecture you, and then try to hard sell you something you don't want is a gem. She was pleasant at first then called me back and told me her worker said he was told by the gentleman here that they did not have to worry about there mess he would take care of it, he didn't want them on his property... 1st off there was no man here ( no one was home at all...) 2nd one of the guys was already on the property picking up the big pieces of trash they let go. She said well he did run his magnet over your driveway, There's NO possible way he did with all the nails that were left and we also have 3 cameras that face our driveway 1 points straight down it one across it and the other the front and the only time it picked anyone up was when he was here picking up the big mess! She did tell me they would be here the next morning between 7-8 am I am still waiting for them but when I called her to ask if there was an eta she blew up on me, was Cussing me out and Hung up on me, Again this was all caught on camera, when I told her I am leaving a review. Ordering windows took a few weeks and teams on install day moved swiftly and kept the area clean after! I also want to note that we live on the 3rd floor of a condo building and many contractors said they could not install and/or needed additional materials, external infrastructure and costs to do the project, but Jacob made it seamless with bringing windows up the stairs, and doing an internal install, which incurred no extra install costs. This was also great as it did not impact our neighbors and kept the project contained and clean. Here's how they stood out: They had excellent communication. From Angelo's estimate all the way to passing inspection, they were on top of their game. The estimate had every combination of options listed with exactly what they were going to do and photos of the planned work. We were assigned a field supervisor (Justin, I believe?) who would come out on the same day to inspect any issues we brought up. Our contact with the office via Cindy and Anthony was also superb and always timely. The work was done swiftly and well. The roofers were done before I got back from work. Siding and gutters are more involved, but they did excellent there as well and Roman et al. were excellent to work with, took feedback very well (see communication above), and were very hard and efficient workers. All in all, we were done with our project long before other houses in the same subdivision who had all signed up with doorknocker companies, and they delivered a high level of quality. To be clear, their estimate was slightly higher (my gut says 10% higher, but it's been a while since I reviewed the proposals) than some other offers we received, but for the work that we were doing, level of customization, and communication, we wouldn't make a different choice. I'm usually not one to spend time getting a bunch of quotes and just rely on Yelp reviews to make a purchasing decision, but this was pricey enough purchase that i figured I should do my due diligence.' Siding & Windows Group was one of the 4 companies I had come out for a quote. We ended up with them for a few reasons: - Their quote was competitive - They were able to spray paint the interior trim with our existing paint color - They were able to match the exterior trim as closely as possible to our windows outside - Anthony at Siding & Windows Group was very responsive We placed the order on August 22nd, which is my bday. I can't say new doors was what i wanted for my bday, but i guess this is being a homeowner in your 40s. The new doors weren't installed until November 6th and we just hoped for no big storms and got lucky. Anthony checked in a few times on when they'd be installed and pushed it back a few days due to other projects. The actual installation took about a day, which wasn't too bad. A week later they came to spray paint, which honestly seemed like a much bigger project than installing the doors. That took 2 days and went smoothly, although there was a little confusion about them not knowing what color to paint, etc. It turned out beautifully and while the doors look very similar to our old doors I like the look of these even better. The exterior finish isn't a perfect match, but i think a big part of that is our old paint on our windows as faded. One day we'll touch it all up, but for now we're looking forward to a break in paying for anything for the house. I learned there are a lot of companies in the area for new windows/doors, but we were satisfied with this one and would use them again.

I scheduled the work around last November, as I wanted my deck to be refinished and looking good for the full 2025 season. The first days with decent weather in late April the deck was washed, and by early May the deck was finished. A crew of 2 worked a full day power washing and bleaching the deck and 2 sections of yard fencing. Every part of the deck was thoroughly cleaned, including areas not normally visible, and all areas of the deck that were surrounded by bushes. Within about a week, as soon as we had a few sunny days and warmer weather, a crew of three worked a full day sanding and staining the deck and fence. The deck floor was power sanded, and all other surfaces were hand sanded, before all sawdust was carefully blown away and stain was applied. Deck Doc did an outstanding job, and I would not hesitate to recommend them. Communications regarding scheduling were excellent, work was done competently and on the days and at the times promised. The area around the deck was left completely clean when work was completed. Thank you for making my deck look like new.

I called Sean to review it and he was looking out for me and ways to still do things right but not break the bank. We agreed to get to work. The guys arrived and started the repairs. I needed more repaired than initially thought. I knew it wasn't in great shape so I had expected that. We completed phase 1 and they basically rebuilt my whole top deck. It turned out awesome. Most recently they came to sand and stain and that really turned out great. My deck previously had the paint/stain. Because the people that applied that did so on both sides it caused major issues. The McCann Windows did window replacements on my Lakeview area 1905 vintage 3 unit rental property of 10 large double hung windows and 2 small single windows. Everyone at McCann Windows were very careful from the first appointment on as to not inconvience the occupants of the apratments from the 1st appointment with Kevin thru the measure process, installation and clean up process. The process was done in a very professional way from my visit at their showroom and appointment with Kevin at the property and proposed installation. Kevin understood the trim issues in the apartments and the look of the windows to compliment the property both inside the units and outside frontage. The showroom staff, and Kevin explained the full process from start to finish along with who would do the installation stating the installers were their own employees not subs. The installers showed up on time and remained on the job for a long day into the early eveing untill the job was complete. The installers worked as an efficient team removing old windows and installing the new ones, cleaned up all areas in the apartments and the outside work area. They hauled away all the debris from the old windows as promised on the contract. All communications with the company including the installers was straightforward on the project from beiniing to end. I can unequivocally recommend McCann Window and Exteriors for residential replacement windows. We hired McCann to install nearly 40 vinyl and wood windows in both 3BR apartments of our 2-flat. Kevin is knowledgeable and straightforward in the advice and recommendations he offers. For the initial quote, Kevin arrived on the scheduled day and time and was patient with us over a 2 to 3-week period as we tweaked job specifics, styles, and strategies for what was (for me as a new landlord/2-flat owner) a fairly large job. McCann's crew took as much care in installing windows in the rental unit as they did for those installed in the owner's unit, and this meant a lot. There was attention to detail inside and out, particularly with the sealing/caulking/seams (super important in the context of windows and durability). Kevin's in-office presentation of options was especially informative, and it helped us understand and appreciate that he is indeed a small business owner (which we were even happier to patronize for this reason). Good email and phone communication in the lead-up and throughout the job. I recently had windows in two investment properties replaced by McCann. Kevin himself came out to do the assessment and then during the installation. Communication was great. I'm a busy guy and they didn't bother me with small details. They just called and emailed when something was happening (e.g., assessment completed, windows ordered, installation scheduled, etc.). One of my tenants is an older gentleman, who called for some help to get the furniture clear from around the windows. After the installation, McCann's crew stayed after to help him move all the furniture around and even put the blinds back up because my tenant wouldn't be able to do it himself. Kevin is a top-notch business owner. No BS on the price - totally honest about the quality of the different windows he can install - great communicator - set me up with interest-free financing too! And his team are professional with big hearts. Hard to find these days. I will only use McCann for my investment properties and my own home. We contacted McCann in the late summer to get an estimate on gutter/downspout replacement for a house that we had under contract. Kevin McCann was quick to get out and give an estimate. When we contacted him again a few weeks later he came back out and went through his proposal. He was very honest and I felt that he really listened to what we wanted. The work was going to include installation of a new window, which led to a wait while the window was manufactured. When the window was ready a team came out and did the gutters. They were ready to do the window too, but I made a mistake with the window and was not ready to have it installed. They were very understanding and patient. They did a great job with the gutters, installing new soffits and replacing rotted wood. They also cleaned up everything when they finished. My interactions with each person from McCann was very positive. I was impressed with their professionalism and their patience. They did great work. Kevin McCann did not help me at alll! Requirement: Installation of 2 new full casement window units. The 2 new casement units where supplied by me.. a Pella warranty issue. Kevin came out and reviewed the situation in mid December. Provided me with a proposal. Wanted to "help us out". Weather in Chic. was bad for months. Follow up calls were initiated. No response. "out of the country??" (I did get acceptable response from the interoffice, regarding new window preparation (paintiing) in Jan.....thinking that the work was going to be done by MCANN.) Feb follow up March follow up 3/31/14 Talked to Kevin today and he said that he was not interested in installing 2 windows for me, just didn't want to do it and had not recommendations for what I should do... We have done business with Kevin McCann three times and he has done absolutely wonderful work for us. We have had new windows installed in the house, some siding repair and yesterday, we had new windows installed in our basement, and a new storm window on an existing leaded glass window. We had to have the windows custom made for our house and they turned out beautifully. The timeline was very good from the ordering to the installation. I called McCann to make a set of storm windows for a tenant's apartment and to custom make two sets of double storm doors for my apartment. They previously made some storm windows for my mother, and they did such a good job, I didn't hesitate to call them again. The windows and doors were installed last week. McCann windows is the gold standard in the window world. I've got estimates and work done from some of the "big box" companies like Pella. I can safely say McCann's quality is as good if not better, with phenomenal customer service that you don't get from some of the bigger companies. My wife and I used McCann Window & Exterior to replace about 75% of the windows in our 1920's home in Evanston, IL. McCann was really helpful in recommending windows that would preserve the integrity of our prairie style house and provide the features we were looking for. We had 17 windows removed and replaced. Project was completed in two days on time as promised. Work men were very professional. Job site was left clean and neat indoors and outdoors. To all at McCann ( GREAT JOB !! ) To McCann, washing the windows after installation would be a great perk to provide your customers. They took the time to explain the differences and warranties promised by the others, and ensure we were making an informed and cost saving decision (although we spent more on our interior (hollow vs. solid)... totally our choice). Worked was described, scheduled and executed as planned, with very little rescheduling (I believe we had 1 hiccup in email correspondence, but that was quickly fixed with a phone call). A beautiful bay window, improved energy costs and 15 doors later... and we're enjoying the investment and partnership with Landmark. Thanks, John and staff!

Remove and Replace siding..have had to redo or have things redone/finished already ..no…read morecommunication once they got the down payment with signed contract the sales person ghosted me I had to make myself a pain in the ass moved up the food chain in management to find someone who got stuff done but it still took a lot of time and effort with a few MIA days on their part with no communication to get a reply on any questions took days at times the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing..had to have some structural work done (tuck pointing) they were to comeback and finish like one panel..They have been ignoring my calls to the point of Oh we are sorry and wIll pass the info along and someone will get back with you to resolve and Im still waiting . They have not finished a new overhead garage door trim and a panel on the front of the building to be hung . The quality of workmanship ... meh ..50/50 ie covering holes in the underlayment base with tyvek and tape in stead of cutting a patch/plug to fill the hole securely kinda slip shod ignore lots of small things no attention to detail..They charge TOP DOLLAR but really don't deliver they are actually a factory authorized dealer thats the main reason I choose them means nothing..Ive had smaller contractors do a much better job. Would I use them again or recommend . NOT !!!!!! They did call once last minute said they were on their way over to finish with no warning or heads up " we'll be there in 10 minutes" Problem was I was heading not of town and materials were locked up and I dont trust em to be alone had to cancel I had to cancel the appointment . Update So made it thru a winter unfinished and the some of the caulk is starting to separate going to have to be redone. The last contact I had from them was Feb. 4 2026 from the owner saying he was going to check it out to see what the situation was and get back to me. Never happened !!

They needed 2 days to do the install since the job was so big. When they were doing the install on the second day, they removed the porch doors and adjacent windows to find massive water damage. The wooden frames were shot, the drywall was crumbling and there was frost underneath the floor inside under our new carpet. The 1/2 day project turned into a day. They knocked out and cleaned up all the rotted debris and rebuilt everything. They put the carpet back down and as my wife said "it doesn't even look like they were here except for the new doors and windows they left behind." And they didn't charge us a penny more!! It felt really good to give the install team a big fat tip because they totally deserved it! If you need new windows or doors, look no further... you won't be disappointed! Thank you Russ, thank you Peter, and everyone else at Chicago Window Guys!!!

Since then, I've noticed water streaks on both sides of the new window after rain -- something that never happened with my old windows. This makes me question the quality of the installation. On top of that, after the windows were replaced, I found a lot of broken glass left all over my front yard. It was clear that no tarp was used to catch the debris, and I had to clean it up myself. For a professional installation, I expected much better care and attention to detail. Only one man handled the installed the window at the end, the others came and left which may have contributed to the sloppy work. Overall, I'm disappointed with the experience and the results.
