The staff there were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable not only on wine but on other alcohol. The grounds are super cute and comfortable to sit and relax and enjoy a afternoon of tasting or enjoying a glass of wine. They have a very nice selection of wines for everyone. I particularly loved the sparkling rosé, it was very crisp and light. We enjoyed our visit so much we joined their wine club.

We had such a fantastic afternoon at McClain Cellars in Solvang thanks to Katy! Our group of four was visiting for the day, and she truly made the entire experience special from start to finish. Katy was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. She took the time to walk us through each wine, explaining the story behind them in a way that felt personal and engaging! She created such a fun, relaxed atmosphere for our group. We laughed, learned, and left with a much deeper appreciation for the wines (and a few bottles to take home!). It's clear she genuinely loves what she does, and that energy made all the difference. If you're visiting McClain Cellars, ask for Katy--you won't be disappointed. She turned a simple tasting into one of the highlights of our day in Solvang! read more

We weren't expecting to visit this wine room but glad we did. The whole experience was a delight. The wines have playful names. The wine room also sells popcorn (delish) and flavored olive oils. The wine ambassador in attendance was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our visit. read more

I've never done a wine tour before, so while visiting Solvang we booked a tour through Airbnb for their location in Buellton! It was supposed to be with Jason, but instead we were blessed with Elizabeth! She was really insightful about the wine flights she was presenting to us and took it slow since it was our first time having quality wine. She even gave us a complimentary taste of her favorite wine, (Sofias Star) which we ended up purchasing along with the Painted Dreams bottle. Only knocking off one star because it was advertised on Airbnb that we'd be able to make our own charcuterie board but we were never presented with the option. It was something we were also looking forward to doing as first timers! read more

Hidden Gem!!!! How is this place not slammed on a Saturday afternoon?!!! We hit it just right. Had the whole place to ourselves. Brooke was amazing! I'd love to sit and drink and just hang with her. I don't think she'd say the same of me tho. Hahahaha! We also had a personal serenade from the live performer. Created a great ambiance...wine, music, sunshine, sitting under an umbrella with a light breeze. Lots of wine to choose from. 5 different tasting flights depending on your palate and wallet. I was feeling White. Hubby was feeling like a high roller so he did the Reserve. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. We liked so many yay we signed up for the wine club since you get to pick your wine. And... It's quarterly so you're not spending a ton every month. I'll finish this later.... read more

I Really cant say enough nice things about this place. The wines are excellent with amazing flavors. Im only a white wine drinker, they have a wide variety of choices not many wineries have that. We have been to both locations which were very cozy even during COVID. My favorite location is Buellton. We were sold to become a member here, we wanted to enjoy more of their wines. You cant go wrong with McClain Winery. The staff members are very knowledgeable and they guide you threw your likings. Cant forget they're yummiest Popcorn. You have not taste anything like it. You cant go wrong getting the popcorn tastier. read more

Thankful for this place who allowed us to make a big reservation of 14 for our annual family vacation. We all were staying at Flying Flags so this place was perfect for all of us easily get to! Phenomenal service, incredible atmosphere and most importantly... a broad selection of delicious wines. No matter your pallet, you will find something here that you will undoubtedly enjoy. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his wife upon our visit and you can tell this is their passion. It shows in their craft and how they treat their customers. Drop by if you schedule a time and get ready to relax, unwind and enjoy the wines. So delicious and wish I had brought along some cheese to go along with the wines. Friendly and accommodating staff and they had the bean bag game set up so you could pitch those babies and try to score points, and get in a little exercise as you enjoy your wines. Dude. This place is so fun. Pinball, foosball, tabletop arcade, pool, corn hole, darts, and probably more. The wine is fantastic. You won't find much better wines anywhere. And the folks who work there are so damn nice. Shout out to Lamar E and Sebastian C for stellar, genuine, kind, and "on it" customer service. Our group appreciated them SO MUCH. I love me a good place where the adults can drink and the kids can have too. Nice vibe with comfy seating. Not the arcade our kids wanted, but enough to keep them entertained. We enjoyed our tasting and the gourmet popcorn too. It's not a great place for the little youngsters, but our teens were entertained enough to let us enjoy our tasting. WOW! The best and fastest wine tasting ever!!! I was on a wine bus trip (7/30/22) from Long Beach, CA, tasting a few door down, and had 7 minutes before the bus was leaving. I tasted Risktaker and another red (can't remember). Your staff was amazing and fun! Love your tasting room! Amazing artwork! I bought wine, a t-shirt, a glass, and popcorn! Should have bought two bottles of Risktaker; my eyes almost rolled back because it was so good! I am a huge Mourvedre' fan. Keep up the great work! I will probably drive to Laguna Beach which is a little closer to Inglewood. Did I mention that my Risktaker is already gone? Always drink the good stuff! read more

While visiting friends in Buellton we stopped in to have a glass of wine and check out this new Winery I heard of on FB. I not only had a great glass of wine, but a fun time at McClain. The Three Daughters blend was so good I bought a bottle. My friend and I sat at the bar chatting with the delightful staff. I felt like I found a hidden gem outside of the mainstream wineries. I will definitely return every time I visit the valley. read more

Went to McLane today. Beautiful day. Very nice venue. Very nice service, some nice wines as well. None that were exceptional to go with the price tags on their wines. I have never seen a wine club where the members were charged a tasting fee for visits. Is this a new thing? Not for the 5 we belong to. Would not join just for that reason. Dont mind paying a tasting fee but I always want my fee waived when I purchase especially over $100 in wine. I think they have a great place just need to cater to their customer a little more. read more

We had heard great things about this place so since we were in the area, we gave it a try. The flight that we ordered had some delicious wines and Con did a fantastic job describing each wine for us. He was very friendly and knowledgeable! During our visit, some large groups came in and Con handled everyone with ease. Our small group of 3 never felt slighted or ignored. We stayed for 3 hours and even enjoyed a game of corn hole! We'll be back next time we're in town. read more

We made a reservation here to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday and we are so glad we did! Brooke set our party of 10 up outside where we could relax and enjoy the beautiful day while sipping delicious wine. Brooke suggested we have the "Ready to Party" tasting and added an additional taste for us to enjoy. We had the Sparkling Rose to toast the birthday girl and it was delicious! Established in 2016.

The story of the McClain Family is not unique. It is, however, filled with passion. It is the story of a family who loved to go wine tasting with friends and loved spending time together. It is about a husband and a wife that are so in love with each other that they just had to find a way to spread that love with those that they cared for. Finding just the right soils, grapes, aromas was only the first part. Connecting with the right winemakers to help them blend the perfect wine... now that was the big battle. It was also one of the most exciting parts of this adventure. McClain Family Cellars is a true realization of a dream. Jason, Sofia, and their three daughters, Kayla, Savanna, and Mackenzie, set out on a mission to create something that might truly bring someone to understand the importance of life. Meet the Business Owner: Jason M.

The head wine guy. Husband, Entrepreneur, father of 3 and traveling wine enthusiast. As a mentor, coach and 30-year entrepreneur, Jason McClain has sought to help people find their true passion in both business and life. He creates passion with everything. His 50,000 hours in business building have been spent across various industries with companies including an online marketing agency, divorce filing service, bankruptcy service, credit repair company, children's vending company, and a legal forms website, to name a few. Each of his companies are not only unique, but seem to pave the way to the future in the industry it serves. McClain stepped away from dot-coms and gave it all away. He made a 350 degree change and decided to start living. He built McClain Cellars to create a winery where people find true joy and passion.

There were several groups (bridal parties/ bachelorette parties) celebrating their special events and taking photos. IYKYK ;) **All Wine Snobs have left the Chat** *Vega Vineyard and Farm has entered the chat* Alright team Vega, sit back, kick your feet up, & just listen while I brag a little about you. It was a BEAUTIFUL November afternoon just 4 days prior to Thanksgiving. We were heading back south from Paso Robles & decided to make a little pit stop before getting all the way back home. So my wife looked up wineries in the area that were kid friendly & Vega was at the top of the list. Walking in, we noticed that they had a little restaurant right at the entrance, so we went to put our name down for a table. Unfortunately, the wait time was a little longer than we wanted to wait, only because we had the kids with us, but the hostess suggested if we didn't want to wait, that they had more food on the other end of the farm in "Pops Place". Other than the wine itself, eating the food in "Pops Place" was probably the best move we could have unintentionally made that day. (I'll explain in a bit) So we slowly made our way towards the other side of the farm/vineyard & all I can say is, what a gorgeous property it was. The farm life, the outdoors, the weather, & I was with my Fam. It couldn't have been a better day! Once we got to Pops Place, it was like we entered into a whole new world. A huge area for kids with a jungle gym, stations for outdoor games & activities, benches to sit, even private cabanas you can reserve (not sure if there is a cost) & of course a little shack to order food and wine! So remember earlier when I said eating in Pops Place was probably the best move we could have made that day, Well here are 3 reasons why! 1) We ordered the George's Greek Gyro Pita w/fries (a beef gyro with lettuce, tomato, onions & tzatziki wrapped in a pita) and.. OH. MY. GAWDDD It was so flippin' GOOD! It was so good, that I didn't even have time to snap a pic, let alone set it down after taking that 1st bite. It was complete perfection! 2) Chicken Strips & Fries from the kids menu w/a side of ranch.. Let's just say, The kids loved 'em. 3) We washed it all down w/a beautiful, crisp, perfect for a fall day, 2024 bottle of their finest ALBARIÑO. & it was, EXCELLENT!! After we sat & ate, let the kids get out all of their energy, the fun at Vega continued. From there, we headed to feed the livestock on the property (lettuce sold onsite for a few bucks). There were Chickens, Goats, Pigs, Emu's & Sheep, and the kids and myself had a blast feeding 'em. After that, we stopped off at one of their gift shops to browse all of the fun stuff. Of course, we got the kids their requested candy! The staff we interacted with while at Vega were all so kind, welcoming & made us feel apart of the extended Vega family. Because of this, we will definitely be coming back next time we pass through. So, & this is where YOU come in! The next time you are passing through Buellton, do yourself, your spouse and your kids, if you've got them, a HUGE favor: Come check out Vega Vineyard & Farm and tell me that I was right!

This is by far the best place to hangout and have a glass of wine. The owner was seriously one of the nicest guys I've ever met. He brought us out complimentary glasses and our own boom box so we could listen to music. It was just one of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant or bar. Love love their wines, especially the whites! My friend and I went to Buellton during the Covid time and wine tasting could be done outside. A lot of wine tasting was by appointment only, but McClain was serving outside on patio. We are so glad we gave them a try.....wonderful wine!
