Ok... first of all I called to see if I needed a reservation and was so happy to know that they didn't. The young man on the phone was incredibly kind. We walk into the beautiful ambience, we're greeted with such care and kindness. The food is outstanding. We had the ribeye which I highly recommend both pork and beef ribs. The service is over the top amazing I highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you Kimberly for such kindness and great service and Henry the most kind host.

The food is amazing, the service is amazing. The ambience is awesomely amazing, we love this place the food the steak is to die for, we get bacon wrapped shrimps that are just oh my goodness did I say to die 4×10 you have to try it. This is a go to for your family a special night of six course meal basically, bring your wallet, it is well worth it!!! We have a friend that comes at least once with us every year from New York just to come here that's how fabulous it is to eat here. Please come make a choice of your own. You'll love it! and this is my anniversary so we had to share it at a special place, 25 years 16 March, we are here love it!!!!

I think we came on an off night (July 4). They were slammed, but half the restaurant was closed off. I want to say there was maybe 3 waiters working that night. We got sat in the "bar" area. It was fine, that's where the sole waitress was. She was fine but after she took our order and realized we were sharing a full rack of ribs (family of 4, 2 small kids) she checked out after that. I guess at this point in her career as a server she can't read social cues (napkins on plate, antsy kids, no one eating anything) because we had to ask for our check and then 30 minutes later we were finally able to flag her down. Yes it was a holiday and I found out from the hostess that a few people did call off so I'll cut her some slack. She needed help big time and there was no management to be found. Wont be back but it was fun for the kids I'll say! FOOD: ribs were decent , they did "fall off" the bone but all the sides left something to be desired. The potatoes were cold, the salad was fine and the cauldron beef stew was hot and good with the beans. Kids loved the treasure box and the animals everywhere.

Have a big appetite, as they serve a nice cartoon pot of chili soup before dinner, and all orders come with a side of beans and salad. The avocado ranch is delicious. Ordered the top sirloin as med rare, came out very dry so next time will order it rare and w butter to keep it juicy. Great service and super friendly from all, which explains a lot of local coming in for dinner.

We ate at AJ's Spurs and were definitely impressed by the portion sizes--huge! It really makes the price worth it. With any meal, you get a full spread: Vaquero soup (served with salsa and chili beans on the side), salad, A.J. spuds (potatoes) for the table, and dessert--your choice of a root beer float or a vanilla sundae with chocolate syrup. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Tortellini (blackened chicken over cheese-stuffed tortellini with herb butter). The tortellini was a little lackluster and didn't have much flavor, but adding pepper helped. The chicken was definitely blackened and had that nice charred flavor. The soup was tasty--especially the vegetables. For salad, you can choose your dressing; I went with ranch, which was good and came with some beets. The sundae was simple but satisfying. My husband got the Chuckwagon (6 oz. top sirloin, 4 St. Louis pork ribs, and 4 shrimp scampi). The ribs were tender and full of flavor, the steak was cooked perfectly medium, and the shrimp was well-seasoned and delicious. The rice on the side was just okay--nothing memorable. Our biggest disappointment was that some of the food was lukewarm. The soup cooled off quickly, and both the potatoes and rice weren't served hot. Service was great, though--staff were very attentive, constantly checking in, refilling drinks, and clearing plates. All meals also come with a piece of Texas toast. The decor is very themed--think hunting lodge with fur skins and taxidermy everywhere. We were seated right away on a Saturday, which was nice. Overall, it was an okay experience. I might come back, but I'd probably try another place first just to compare.

Food was amazing. The ambiance was so chill and very cozy. Felt like I was eating at a friends house. Though it was very busy, I felt they provided excellent service. I had the Chicken Oscar and it did not disappoint. Portions are very filling. I'd def come back again the next time I'm in town.

AJ Spurs has really stepped up their game. The new manager is really on top of everything! He's cleaned up and rearranged and really just updated everything (and it NEEDED updating for sure)! They have a great western atmosphere and really fun ambiance. Kids and adults alike enjoy this restaurant. You can get delicious steak, or salmon, or a plethora of other options. Their onion rings might be some of the best onion rings I've ever had. Servers there have always been really kind and helpful. We threw our first murder mystery party there and the staff really nailed it. The manager had everything dialed in so that it came off seamlessly. I definitely highly recommend AJs for the food, the people, and for the atmosphere!

Heading up the Wednesday for my birthday with my wife and daughter. Do we need to make reservations beforehand?

It wouldn't hurt to make reservations, but it isn't required.

Traveling up to solvang this weekend with our dog., is the restaurant dog friendly?

Were you able to take ur doggy?

Is outdoor dining available currently (as of July?)

They are not honoring outdoor dining requests. We had to eat inside first week of August 2021. I love this restaurant, but this was a big surprise since that is not what their website says, and I wasn't happy to have the decision made for me at the… Read more

Is live music only Fri/Sat? Website said weekends but some reviews implied every day. We'll be there middle of the week. Thx

Great question! There is a calendar on the website (or use to be). Friday and Saturday seem to be the only consistent days either way. Hope that helps!!

Are their burgers quality meat or frozen Costco type?

Burgers are fresh as far as I know. No Costco meats here. They are one of the best places to eat in area. We eat there every time we are up there. Be sure to take your appetite if you. You get lots of food.

Do they have a happy hour?

Our party was warmly greeted upon arrival and made to feel completely at home throughout the evening. The cuisine was very good, and the overall dining experience was thoughtfully executed. One minor note would be that one of the pasta dishes could have been drained slightly more prior to plating. Otherwise, the meal was excellent. I would gladly recommend this restaurant to others seeking a warm, inviting atmosphere paired with attentive service and excellent food.

The food feels thoughtful without trying too hard, and every dish had so much flavor packed into it. The Crispy Pork Belly Sandwich was the standout for me. The gochujang Coca Cola glaze gave it that perfect sweet and savory balance, while the snap pea slaw added freshness and crunch. And somehow the brown butter cashew butter tied everything together in the best way possible. The Wagyu Pastrami Sandwich was just as memorable, rich, juicy, and super satisfying. The Swiss cheese, horseradish cream, sauerkraut aioli, and beef jus all worked so well together without overpowering the wagyu. We also ordered the strawberry lemonade and lavender lemonade, which were both super refreshing and perfect for brunch. And to end the meal, the sticky toffee pudding was absolutely exquisite. Warm, soft, rich, and easily one of the best desserts I've had in a while. I would honestly suggest not sharing it lol. Definitely one of those brunch spots where you leave already thinking about your next visit.

Coast Range seemed to check all the boxes, and they had an available reservation on the patio. We got (for us) the perfect table, which was a small area next to the entrance. Actually only our table, which was great for containing our puppy, plus a heat lamp and service over the pony wall which worked out great! We started with delicious cold, crisp martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives and a bowl of water for our pup. Our server (Chelsea B?) was so fun and friendly! We then had maybe the best wedge salad we've ever had! I think the lettuce was cut to, but not thru, the base, and opened up, with toppings inside. Roasted beet cubes, bacon, blue cheese and shallots, plus cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg quarters and fried shallots garnish. It was incredible. I think they should call it "More than a Wedge." We also had the Ahi crudo, which had a delicious sauce and thinly sliced peppers. I wasn't too hungry, so had the French onion soup as my main course. So, it definitely didn't taste anything like French onion soup! It looked like it, and it was definitely cooked down onions but the flavor wasn't anything like I'd expect. However, it was really delicious and satisfied my craving for something warm & cheesy. So if you go in knowing that, I think you'll enjoy it. I don't like lamb, so my husband often gets it when we go out. When he took his first bite, I could tell he enjoyed it. He said it was some of the best lamb he's had and he's had a lot! It's à la carte, but did come with a tiny bit of salad and a roasted pepper which he thought was perfect. Since I was having the soup we didn't order a vegetable side, which we normally would, but this vegetable garnish worked perfectly for him. Definitely recommended!
