They were randomly slow the evening we went, which was great for us. Server was fantastic! Such a knowledgeable and fun guy. The lady on the guitar and singing was a whole vibe. Great wine selection. The place was cozy and sophisticated. Will definitely return!

First time to Solvang and our first stop. Ended up staying there to play backgammon. They have a pool table, games and really comfortable seats. Loved, loved the place. Brought some good wine home and hope to go back.

We had gone here on a Wednesday. The outside shaded lounge and sign that they have charcuterie won me over the neighboring wine tasting rooms. We ended up getting a couple appetizers instead ! (Beef Wellington and Chicken Cordon Bleu) which were suuuper delicious I did the Owners Flight which was soooo good! It had a common theme of berries.. yummmm I like how each wine has a different story. Tanner who was our host did a great job You can tell these people have like acting talent or something. They are so good at making tasting wine an experience. They give u options of joining the club to get discounts if you want. They tell u about the other locations and the differences with each of them. You can buy any of the bottles if u want. At the end, they give u the opportunity to order more if u want, which I appreciated because I did want another glass.. The host read over our order to make sure it was correct, then he switched with another host as his shift was over. The tab ended up being incorrect, but the new host fixed it for us and it didn't taint our experience. We still had a great time. Because business was slow, we got to chat with Paul also. He is great with people and we struck up convo about the business n wines. The hosts were Good looking chaps too! I think being presentable with great hygiene, manscaping & a friendly personality is an important part of the experience. We also played a game of pool. We went on a Wednesday day when business was slow, so we got a lot of attention which I loved! lol I would definitely recommend this place to others!

Amazing atmosphere and wine tasting experience at McClain Cellars and our host Tanner! I tried their owner's flight which was out of this world which I highly recommend. Great live music, pool table, and outdoor seating with fire! I would highly recommend to anyone in the area looking for a wine tasting pit stop!

I did a $10 Happy Hour tasting this afternoon. I enjoyed every pour and the vibe was so mellow and welcoming. What a fantastic way to start my getaway.

Our new fave winery in Solvang is officially McClain Cellars Yesterday afternoon, we enjoyed a delectable 2 for 1 wine tasting courtesy of Hotel Corque & our sommeliers were VERY attentive & friendly + we played several rounds of pool AND many old school arcade games!

The tasting room is such a vibe!

We had such a great experience at McClain's! The wine was excellent and the ambiance made it such a relaxing spot to enjoy. Alexandra was wonderful--attentive, knowledgeable about the wines, and just a pleasure to chat with. She really made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend stopping by!

Such an amazing vibe and experience! As a record collector the music choices were fantastic and created the best ambiance. Paul crafted such a great wine tasting journey and was so welcoming to my friend's pup that she ended up joining the wine club. All around great time and worth a visit the next time you're in Solvang.

Update: I'm going to change my review from 3 to 5 stars just because two people from the business reached out to apologize. That's what I mean by great customer service and that makes me feel as if they value their customers experience. When I'm in Solvang I'll definitely come back for a visit. Like I said before the wine is delicious. ************************************************* I really wanted to give this establishment 5 stars! The decor and ambiance alone is gorgeous! However my wine tasting experience wasn't great! Our wine lady didn't seem like she wanted us there. I would hate to think it was due to my skin color so I will not assume.....but it was just a really weird vibe. Not welcoming at all. She didn't go over the wine club option and at the end didn't offer us pricing on bottles to purchase. I had visited two other places just the day before who were attentive and informational when it came to purchasing. It was just a strange experience. After reading through some of the reviews this establishment seems to be a little combative with the customers and shows zero concern for the customer's experience overall. The wine was delicious so that's a plus.

    $13? Really ?

This is a hipster lounge where you can taste some wicked-awesome wines from McClain vineyards and pair them up with some ridiculously overpriced appetizers. I was going to give three stars because of that last point....but their wine is so good I cant go below 4. Cool room with sidewalk seating along the beautiful village of Solvang. Inside has some comfy chairs in a contemporary lounge. I did their master flight which is a series of medium and full bodies reds. I normally favor the mediums and avoid the fulls. Their full wines were fantastic. One was a mix of Merlot and Cabernet (neither of which I normally am a fan of) but they worked well. That one might even have been my favorite. Appetizers are just Pillsbury puff pastry filled with various stuffings. $13 for 3 small bites of puff pastry and cream cheese? Dont bother, Stick with the wines - thats what they do best.

Other patrons were asked if they needed anything.. twice. Finally, I flagged down the waitress for a menu and was guided inside to order my food. This is when you greeted me with a smile did you not forget. It's ok my review will stay and no I didn't just come to review, I wanted to yelp an eatery and I chose your establishment, I spent well over $40. Your passive aggressiveness shows.

After walking in and passing the host stand, a server who was seated at the bar got up, walked us to a table, and suggested we sit on the loveseat. The host was friendly and welcoming, and the space itself seemed promising. We were excited to settle in, have a drink, and check the place out. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, but shortly after we were seated, a larger group came in. From that point on, it felt like we were completely forgotten. The server focused on the larger party, taking drink orders and delivering beverages as more guests from their group arrived. Meanwhile, we sat waiting without any acknowledgment. Another group of ladies was seated nearby and appeared just as confused about who was helping them. We both work in the restaurant industry, so we understand that larger parties can demand attention and that things don't always go perfectly. We tried to be patient and give the team the benefit of the doubt. However, after waiting more than 15 minutes without anyone checking on us, taking a drink order, or even acknowledging our table, we decided to leave. What made the experience especially frustrating was that the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. We never felt welcomed beyond being shown to our table, and ultimately it felt like our business wasn't valued. Hopefully this was just an off night, because the atmosphere and concept seemed like something we would have enjoyed. We'd be willing to give it another chance, but first impressions matter, and unfortunately this one missed the mark. Sadly, it looks like we definitely missed out on the famous Bowl for Two.

Settle down into a comfy couch or a kitschy spindle-backed wooden chair and get ready for friendly service and a nice meal that won't leave you hungry with good portion sizes. Came on a Wednesday night in July, and here's what we ate: 1. Manhattan Clam Chowder. Special soup of the day, this soup was more watery and less tomatoey than expected from a classic Manhattan. Thus, reads more cioppino. However, the utterly ample amount of chunky potato and clams was on point along with the flavor. Total recommend. 2. Mushroom Bucatini. Excellent dish. Comes with a truffle cream sauce with two types of mushrooms that combine to make a delicious savory dish. Noodles were al dente. While fhe choice of ricotta was okay, I think it might be more elevated with a generous portion of mizithra cheese ala the Old Spaghetti Factory. Still recommend. 3. Calamari. Star of the show with crunchy tentacles available. Super crispy batter. And it comes with fried lemons, jalapeños, and onions. What a mix! While it comes with an aioli, which is good for the onions and lemons, for sure, the move is to order marinara dipping sauce. Definite recommend. 4. Bread. So it's a baguette with chimichurri. Weird because they spread it on the bread already on THE OUTSIDE, not inside like you would think. You might be tempted to think: why not just put into a cup so that you can spread it yourself? And don't we normally put it on a meat like steak? But be not be alarmed. While these are questionable plating choices, you may ask for just the bread itself, which is great and worth getting. It's got a crisp outer shell and softer inside, which is a perfect pair for your chowder or even some marinara. Actual recommend. Also comes with soft butter spread, pickled onions. So should you come? Yes. Even if you don't stay at The Landsby, which is a nice hotel, by the way. But don't take my word for it. Come on over for dinner sometime and take in the vibe and good eats when next you visit Solvang town.

I am a huge horror fan so I was beyond excited to check them out over the weekend! The inside and vibe was all I could hope for and more! We were immediately greeted when we arrived and found a table to sit at and enjoy our time. There were only a few tables plus bar seating available so it was nice and cozy. I loved seeing all of the horror memorabilia, decor and merchandise throughout including the killer Ghostface mask and Halloween pinball machine. My husband ordered a glass of their Cab which he loved and I ordered a Vamperol Spritz - they were even kind enough to make our daughter a mocktail. They even brought her over a Nightmare Before Christmas activity kit to keep busy and we bought a Michael Myers sticker as well as a Nightmare Before Christmas hair clip to take home. I'm kicking myself now for not buying a t-shirt! Kids are very welcome at this winery which was a huge plus for us! Staff were personable and made our visit very enjoyable!
