My wife and I are very happy here after 6 months. The moving process was very smooth. The leasing office and the management office are helpful and available. Building maintenance shows up right away and always fixes what needs fixing. The amenities are strong. The gym is quite large with a lot of equipment. Indoor pool means I can swim in the winter. There is plenty of outdoor space with grills and tables so I can invite friends and family over. My wife and I love playing tennis regularly in the indoor tennis courts! For months, I submitted maintenance requests about a clogged shower drain, leaky faucets, and a foul odor coming from the kitchen sink. Nothing got fixed. Now, unsurprisingly, I have a cockroach infestation. I sent pictures of the roaches crawling out my drains to management -- no one followed up with me until I went into the office myself, at which point they told me they wouldn't bring in an exterminator for over a week. Every phone number routes back to the same admin person who can't help you, or worse, to a 3rd party service. The woman I spoke to at the 3rd party service straight up told me management wouldn't do anything and gave me a recommendation for a roach spray. I've now spent about $100 battling the roaches myself. No response from Natalie. Many of the tenant-facing staff are kind and friendly--I understand they're limited in what they can do for us. But the slumlord policies are absolutely ridiculous and ILLEGAL. Don't live here. read more

I LOVE this place. The people, the neighbors, the staff, the amenities, the events and the unit. I moved to McClurg for 2.5 years ago due to my masters in Northwestern and had a great time. I have, seriously, no major complaints. They work around the clock to make you feel comfortable, the units were very quiet and secluded. During Covid, the staff was cleaning the gym and made us feel very comfortable + climbing 45 floors in the stairs was a great workout. It felt once they understood what we are dealing with, that the staff did everything they could to open the amenities back. Yes, it is not perfect. I had to move in the middle due to scheduled renovation to the tier (was not disclosed to me when signing the lease) and to add to that, my unit went on the market to be leased while I was moved to a smaller unit for 3 months. They, after some back and forth, helped and put me in the unit above mine. Assuming this hiccup does not happen on an annual basis, it did not reflect on my whole stay. When moving out, we renovated our new home and the renovation was extended 3 times due to delays. Natalie was very responsive and extended our stay again and again - while the unit did not get rented in the open market - and made the whole process painless. I would, if ever needed, be happy to move back to this building. It felt like a spa hotel (due to the amenities) in the perfect location for the entire stay and it is right for anyone (young, students, small family, and elderly. McClurg Court has been an absolute nightmare. I would not recommend this building to anyone-- please rethink signing here. They don't tell you that the air doesn't come on until June 1 and since they barely have windows, your unit can get to over 100°s for many consecutive days and it's nearly impossible to cool it down. Also they conveniently don't tell you that you are changed for your entire floor's gas bill and it's divided evenly among the tenants. I was out of town the entire month of February and March and was shocked to find out my gas cost me over $160 those month which is absolutely ridiculous. (The air conditioning and gas is not in the lease or stated anywhere-- I was told my leasing agent was supposed to inform me during my tour. Not sure why McClurg replied and said it's in the lease because I have emails going back and forth with management stating it's not in the lease). On top of that, my unit is infested with cockroaches. Don't believe the dream they are selling--it's a complete joke. I will be moving out the first chance I get. McClurg court- shame on you for being deceitful and not caring about your residents. I'm been emailing back and fourth with Natalie and she could truly care less and treats you like you are less than human. The elevators seem to always be down. The lines build up and go out well past the lobby during peak hours. You have to plan on leaving ridiculously early for work if you live on higher floors. Fourth of July weekend they basically all went down and wait times for an elevator was 30+ minutes with staff working the elevators to limit the amount of people getting on. Not at all convenient when you live above 40! The air conditioning and heat is down regularly. When it isn't down it's likely too hot and the 'vents' they call windows allow minimal fresh air. (No opening of windows in units but one inch vents the length of one window opens on SOME - but not all windows - my unit has 2 - 4 would help). The management office is hit or miss. Some of the staff are great and others are a bit rude and unhelpful. Maintenance staff are friendly but it can be difficult to get them into your unit for repairs if you want to be present for them (I have a cat that tries to escape often and I don't want them coming in when I'm not here). There is a great receiving office but they are closed on Sundays and have limited times. I have had multiples packages lost or returned to sender as a result. Strange considering there is 24 hour door staff. This building has great amenities, is clean, conveniently located and offers great views. The often down elevators and limited cooling abilities (heat isn't a problem because it's usually TOO warm - I leave my 'vents' open all winter) greatly affect the comfortability of living here. If you forget one thing before going up for the night it could be 30+ minutes until you are back up to your unit which is excessive. If management at least compensated residents for the extreme inconvenience of their often mail functioning equipment it would show their residents are valued - instead you're usually met with confrontation and unapologetic tones. read more

I've lived at McClurg Court for almost 1 year and am extremely happy with my living situation. The location is perfect- super close to Target and Whole Foods, walking distance to Northwestern Memorial Hospital/Feinberg, short walk to Trader Joe's, Michigan Ave, Navy Pier and the lake! Bockwinkel's and 7-11 is in the same building which is EXTREMELY convenient especially on cold days. OH! and there is a Pure Barre in the same building as well- which is a HUGE perk because I have no excuse not to go to my barre class on a cold and/or lazy day since it literally takes 2 minutes to walk over. The amenities are great- the gym is extremely large with a great yoga room. I like to do cardio and do my own interval workout after and the yoga room is great for that! they have a stereo that you can plug your phone into and play your own music which is really nice. They have a great weight room- my boyfriend is extremely satisfied with the gym because there is the beloved *squat rack* and tons of free weights. The pool and rooftop deck and tennis courts are great as well. I love tennis so having a court that is INDOORS is amazing since I don't have to seek alternative courts during the winter time. The grills are also great- people are generally nice about sharing so they are almost always available even if the rooftop is full. There are also lounge chairs around the grill area which is perfect for summer bbqs or even just eating takeout outside under the nice chicago summer weather. The Maintenance staff is usually prompt and gets the task done quickly which i REALLY appreciate. Our shower drain was clogged and I quickly submitted an online request to get it fixed. It really stressed me out because I like to shower every day and I was worried I would not be able to at the time. However, they came into my apartment and fixed the clog within 2 hours of submitting the request which was awesome! The units are updated with a great kitchen and clean bathrooms. I visited a couple units up in Lincoln Park (specifically the Patrician) and the cleanliness of this apartment compared to other apartments up north was incomparable (for also for about the same rent!). The layout of the apartments are great as well. the units have HUGE windows which bring in tons of light which i LOVE. There is lots of storage space and lots of wall space to put up art. To be honest, I was a bit worried about moving to this building since I have never lived in Chicago before and didn't know what the neighborhood was going to be like- and based on the reviews on Yelp, I didn't expect much from the apartment. I admit, McClurg Court isn't the newest/most luxurious apartment in the Streeterville area- but for the rent, location, amenities, and service, I feel like I got the most bang for my buck! read more

Have lived here years. Here are all the cons in brief, before I expand: - COCKROACHES GALORE. We've killed 6 so far. Friends in building have killed several, too. We have ALL complained. Still hasn't been addressed - When maintenance moved our stove, there was a bunch of BUG poop and miscellaneous gross stuff (like USED Q-TIPS) underneath the stove. They did NOT clean this place before move-in. - Rehab Institute blocked any view. There used to be a great lake view. People from hospital beds stare at you, so you have to keep the shades down. If shades are up, cannot walk freely in sleep shirt or underwear. They never lowered rent to compensate for this--which is atrocious for anyone living and paying more for a higher floor. - There is often NO PARKING (as mentioned in other reviews). We pay $250/mo for parking. But the building lets ANYONE park for an hourly fee + ALSO works with the Parking Apps (like ParkWhiz or ParqEx), so even though we residents pay, WE CANNOT FIND SPOTS. - Parts of the parking garage are SO LOW that if you have an SUV, it WILL scrape the top of your car! It has happened to us. - Your tower has 3 elevator banks. 1-2 are almost ALWAYS broken. If all 3 are functioning for a short period of time, it's a miracle. If you live on a high floor, this is a disaster. You WILL be late for school or work. - On top of this, just increased rent $400. They have COCKROACHES and increase rent $400. - Consistently poor management that keeps switching. But it's never replaced with anythin gbetter. --- - This place has COCKROACHES!! We've noticed them since roughly a year ago. We kept them as evidence and still have them in plastic bags. Building management has consistently been terrible and has not addressed the problem. We have found and killed at least 6 cockroaches in the last year. 2 escaped. That's 8 in a ~12 month span. It's not just our apartment. A colleague in the same building only a different floor also has them. There's so many cockroaches throughout the building, that the "cockroach guy" comes every week. There's a waiting list. He spreads some diatomaceous earth in the bathroom and kitchen, to no avail. Management won't send him every time you tell them there's a cockroach. Of all the cockroaches we killed, they sent him here twice. The roaches still come. - When the Rehab Institute was under construction, construction workers huddled together and stared at McClurg residents. This happened to me in a towel. The buildings are close, and you can see into the other building. One day, I came out in my towel to the living room, while getting ready for work, and I realized that a group of construction workers huddled together with chairs and were watching me. One even waved; it was disgusting. I called the management office and the construction group's management. The construction company was more apologetic than McClurg Court's was. - Now that the Rehab Institute is completed, the previous view lake is completely gone. You stare into another building. After Towel-gate, I realized that people from RIC can and do watch you. So you can let people in hospital beds stare at you, or you can keep the shades down. Goodbye to ever walking around in your apartment comfortably in a sleep shirt or underwear. - On top of this, rent just INCREASED by $400. Is it worth it? Do they think about making BASIC improvements, like addressing the cockroach problem, installing fans in bathrooms (none have them), installing in-unit washer-dryers, or even installing a garbage disposal unit on kitchen sinks (none have them), TO JUSTIFY this price hike? No. That's the problem with this building. - Rent at your own risk. read more

I am forced to move out of this building as their elevators are a huge nuisance. I have lived here for a year and I can't recall a single week when all elevators were in working condition and I didn't wait for 20-30mins. I moved here due to the optimum location and proximity to my work, however I used to spend more time waiting and riding the elevators than I would commuting from my previous apartment. The management didn't do anything to make sustainable improvements to the elevators. They conveniently sent out emails after the elevators stopped working to expect the tenants to be patient. (Find attached an image of the typical wait line for elevators) Also, they advertise several amenities such as the hot tub which are not functional for majority of the time. The sun deck was closed since spring, when moving in/ considering the apartment they should have warned that the sun deck would be closed for renovations. There is no security in terms of visitors, the front desk staff doesn't check in every one who is walking in and out of the building. I don't know the situations at building A, but building B has issues with elevator for months. All three elevators barely work at the same time. One has been out of service for over a month. All three broke today. One got fixed but only one... Amenities are very good. It's a old building, so rainy day, nights sometimes flicker... guess due to old electric thingy. Staffs are kind. I really love our apartment and haven't found the elevators to be too burdensome. There is a lot of construction (pool is closed and gym is awkward as it is currently on a tennis court) but I'm hoping that it will be done soon and result in nicer amenities. It's in a great location and price per square foot is very reasonable for the area. My only complaints are that the walls are very, very thin. Particularly for the corner apartments the bedrooms are located back to back and this is unfortunate since my neighbors tend to be very loud and it's definitely awkward. Also, with the heat and air being determined by the building, there have been some very hot days. A fan helps but it would be nice to be able to use the AC. Finally, most of the doors that require fobs tend to be open (the one at Seven Eleven, hallway doors) and this doesn't make me feel great about security. All in all it is a wonderful building and a huge improvement to where I used to live in River North. I would definitely recommend it! read more

McClurg Court is an excellent place to call home! I've lived here for nearly 1.5 years and cannot find much to complain about. The location is perfect (minutes walk from downtown, River North, Navy Pier, etc.), the staff (management office, reception, etc.) are always very welcoming, and there's no shortage of amenities (workout facility, tennis courts, bbq grills, etc.) to keep you entertained year round. Although it is a bit pricey compared to other living options in Chicago, you definitely get what you pay for. Absolutely terrible experience living at McClurg Court. Very unresponsive management team. I have never in my life experienced living among cockroaches, however McClurg Court was unfortunately my first experience. The heating did not work at the peak of Chicago winter and I did not see any ownership or accountability from the building. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this building. I read the reviews below and can see the cockroaches are not a rare occurrence. I am so disappointed to hear this as now the management team lied directly to my face claiming they had not heard or experienced any other cockroach infestations. McClurg Court has been fine up until the COVID-19 pandemic started. After being furloughed from work, I tried to contact management the first week of April to inquire about rent pause or a rent payment plan until I received unemployment benefits or returned to work. Management took 20 days to reply, and offered a rent hardship application to fill out due to COVID-19. I filled it out and didn't hear back for 2 months when I was emailed by management saying that our application was still "in review", likely due to our lease term which was going to end in August. They have still yet to give any other communication about our rent hardship application. Apart from management, I have nothing but good things to say about the other staff here at McClurg (front desk, maintenance, cleaning, etc.). They are extremely kind and friendly. read more

Stupid expensive with terrible service. Cons: - Offers no parking spot - 2 of the 3 elevators will always be down for some reason, not ideal when your on the 32nd floor and have to wait 10 minutes to go up and down the building. - Heating bill is determined by the total consumption of the building and split evenly, so you'll pay for everyone else's heating bill during the Chicago winter (roughly $200/ month) - People in the main office are terribly rude when trying to understand why elevators, heating or anything doesn't work. I miss my old apartment here for so many reason. 1. Great professional doormen that are diligent about checking ID's at both doors. 2. We're attached to the 7-Eleven which has a RedBox DVD kiosk. 3. A dry cleaner in your building! How awesome is that?? 4. They accept your packages for you and leave you a note when it's in and will keep it safe instead of keeping it at the door for anyone to get it. 5. My Chicago Tribune has never gone missing. 6. If I could give this building 0 star I would- worst experience ever living here- and renewing lease was the worse decision I could have made.. should have known nothing would get better.. Unfortunately work was so busy this year that i could not plan a move when the lease was running out and was forced to extend it for a few mths...The management is terrible.. just awful, the worst ive ever encountered and ive lived in NY for 7 yrs so i didnt come in with the highest of expectations.. but this by far was the worst place I've lived.. this building is falling apart.. on your lucky day maybe 2/5 elevators will be working on average & they couldn't care less.. very blasé about it if you complain because this is nothing new for them- be prepared to wait up to 10-15min to get on an elevator at rush hours and weekends- im a physician and need to get to work at relatively short notice at times which has proven to be an issue on more than one occasion because of their elevator situation- but all they will do is shrug or roll their eyes at you if you complain- this entire last yr, they have been torturing residents in the name of ' renovation' that have so far accomplished NOTHING other than inconvenience residents. They couldn't care less about the inconvenience they cause- for the past 2 months, there has been ongoing construction work in 1bdr Apts - roughly 2d/wk.. so if you enjoy having your privacy invaded vs being exiled from your apartment, then go ahead & move here, this is the place for you.. they will not even give u a time window for when workers will be there bc frankly they dont care-so either stay out of your apartment all day 8-5pm if you dont want workers walking in on u and invading your privacy, or wait for them to stroll in at any time at their convenience. Its like living on a construction site- if you want to feel like a homeless person, def go ahead and move here.. the garage has been undergoing rennovations for ages now - the sundeck and roof too- yet there is no end to any of this in sight and no improvement whatsoever to the building- maybe prioritize guys and try to get more than one elevators working at a time, that would be great..plus, they have the stupidest rules and will treat you like you are living on their charity.. Zero respect for residents. Extremely rude & curt & that definitely adds to the frustration.. they sent off my postmates delivery person without calling & insisted they had called while I was waiting upstairs. God forbid u ask them to hold on to a package or even keys for U for like 5 seconds- they are determined to be as unhelpful & obnoxious as possible. If you get locked out, they will charge you 40 dollars just to open the door for you- there was a mainteance worker at the front desk just sitting and chatting away when I got locked out, but they charged 40 dollars just to come up in the elevator and open the door. Its ridiculous- just another way to make money off of residents!!! The hallways smell of rotten trash.. disgusting fishy odor- if you are unlucky enough to live across the trash room, be prepared for your home to smell like a trash can. The AC never seems to work, sick of the emails about how theyre working on stuff and nothing ever changes- its often freezing in winters and super hot in summer. I lived here for a year, and it was absolutely a wonderful rental experience. At first, I had some trepidations after one of the office staff was extremely rude to me, but she has since stopped working in the office, and everyone else is friendly, and they seem to really care about the residents. The building itself is huge, and the apartments are well maintained and very spacious. Though our unit wasn't one of the 'updated' ones with brand new appliances, everything worked while I lived there, without issue. As far as noise goes, I could occasionally sort of hear people talking through the walls, but it was never enough to warrant complaining, and I played my music pretty loud sometimes without complaint from my neighbors, so really, its not a huge issue. The building's amenities are top-notch, and the staff does an excellent job of making sure the common facilities are kept clean and accessible for everyone. There is a doorman posted in the lobby of each tower 24/7, and the mail room will collect and sign for your packages. The staffed fitness center is the best i've seen in an apartment building, and they made several upgrades to the equipment while I lived there, including a full new set of weights, several new treadmills, and new cardio machines. The indoor pool and hot tub are very relaxing, and they provide some short lanes for swimming laps, if you're into that. In addition, they have several cardio classes you can sign up for, and the 3 indoor tennis courts are free for residents. Below the fitness center is a great business center with plenty of room, free wifi, a small conference room, and a few computers. On the 3rd floor deck between the two towers is a huge sundeck, with grills and lounging furniture. Here, they've done a great job of keeping things maintained, by updating the furniture and replacing many of the grills during my stay there. They've also set aside space for an herb garden, where you can reserve some space if you're interested in planting your own. And, the party room is available for large gatherings. In all, these amenities made it so that many of my friends were excited to come over, and we had some great parties! If you're in the mood for a bagel in the morning, or a nice dinner at night, you can get to the Einstein bagels in the Hilton without going outside, and Markethouse, also in the Hilton, is a fantastic restaurant (Tip: they will make you sausage to order, which you can take home and cook yourself. it is some of the best I've ever had). Then there's the 7-11, INSIDE the building, from which you can get a limited supply of groceries and junk food, rent a movie at the red box, as well as a full supply of liquor and some pretty decent beers, without even going outside. This came in handy many, many times. To top it off, there's a bank, zipcars, and a dentist, all available without going outside...and I've heard they're working to further expand their retail space, so there should be even more good stuff to choose from! The staff does a fantastic job of planning resident events, and making people feel at-home. For valentines day, we got free flowers and chocolate in the lobby. For St. Patty's day, they were handing out green carnations. And there were days with free BBQ/beer during the summer, movie screenings outside on the sundeck, as well as resident bingo night, with a ton of great prizes (kindles, tvs, etc.). The really important part, though, is the location. If you're working/studying at Northwestern, its a no-brainer...we're talking about a 5-minute commute by walking. Even if you work in the loop, it's not a terrible place to live. I was able to walk to my office across the river in roughly 20-25 minutes, without ever needing a bus or getting on the el during the summer (winter might be a different story if you get cold easily, but once you make it to the pedway, you should be good). Within a few blocks, there are a ton of great restaurants, good bars, 3 grocery stores (fox and obel, dominicks, and treasure island), and lots of things to do, including Navy Pier, River East Art Center, Lucky Strike Bowling, and a massive AMC movie theater. If you're a shopper, the mag mile is really close. If you're the outdoorsy type, the lakefront path is great for running/biking. And its close enough to the museums to walk during the summer. Living here, I was able to take walks every night, and never got bored, because there is so much to see. Seriously, go to walkscore.com and you'll see that this property gets a 100/100 for being walkable...everything you need is in walking distance, and the El isn't far at all. Plus, getting a cab is super easy at the corner of McClurg, and the doormen will always help flag one down if you need it. Living here, I enjoyed an unparalleled quality of life, while paying MUCH less than I would have in one of the surrounding buildings. Given the chance, I would move back in a heartbeat. read more

I lived here for one year (August 2009-August 2010) and overall had an excellent experience. I feel like I could list a ton of reasons why I liked this place, but it might be more productive to list what I didn't like. So, here we go... - Organization A few weeks after moving in, I needed proof of my new address so I could get a new driver's license. I went to the office and they gave me "my" file. Actually, they gave me someone else's file (that said they lived in my apartment). This happened again several months later. Other example: I won money off of my rent at an event they were having. When it came time to pay rent, I included my check plus the check I won. Two weeks later, I got a note in my door saying my rent was overdue (This was later fixed, however). - The few random times I have gone to the gym at 5am, the doorman is always asleep. - I am familiar with the young, gruff girl in the office. I don't know why she's so cranky, but perhaps she should work on that. - They seem to do construction quite often. Good for apartment appearances, bad if you are near the floor they are working on. They worked on the 3 floors above me for about 5 months. While taking a sick day, I discovered why my BF couldn't stay at home during the day. LOUD. - The Redline is .5 mile walk away. Sure, that doesn't sound far. But if it's raining or freezing, it's no fun. Even though these are things I didn't like, they weren't bad enough to jade my entire experience at McClurg. I moved here as this was the only building with the amenities I needed within my budget and I must say that I am loving it. The building has a huge gym, pool table,indoor swimming pool, ping pong table and a huge deck. The one bedroom apartment I live in is quite spacious and has ample storage. The building is centrally located with a 7-11 within. I forgot to mention the business center that is huge with small rooms which people can have a conference calls etc. The only downside for us was that it is not pet friendly :(. This apartment offers a referral amount of $500 for people who live in the building and I am willing to split it with some one who is planning on moving here. Elevator problems in all the reviews below are real. If you decide to move in, please move into the lower floors. You won't get nice views but then you won't have to deal with constant elevator problems. One of the 3 passenger elevators has been broken for the past several weeks without any signs of anyone doing repairs, and the 2nd elevator went down last night. This morning, the 3rd and last elevator went down, so there is a huge line in front of a slow freight elevator. A bunch of people are climbing up and down 30+ floors with their laundry baskets and strollers. I'll change this review when the elevators issues are fixed, but looking back at all the reviews, this has been an ongoing problem that's never been addressed for years, which I really should've paid more attention to before signing a contract here. read more

Worst building ever, can't wait to move out! Elevators are always not working! We even had to use the STAIRS for a week because they all were not working( it is hard when you have to go to work everyday and you live in the 41st floor) I had a view of the lake and before i move in i asked the lady that showed me the apartment if the building in front of me is gonna be high and cover the view and she said no, and guess what I can't see the view anymore!! No place is going to be perfect for everyone but this place overall for me was great. It's way better than where I live now. Less modern but still. I actually rented an apartment here unseen. I just used the internet to get a feel of what was the place was going to be like. Being completely new to Chicago, I figured the best place to live was somewhere downtown with close access to most things. I wasn't disappointed, I got a corner apartment (180degree views) with a sliver of lake view. The apartments were conveniently located for me to access the highway to get to work in the north suburbs so another plus. Streeterville was quiet but yet walkable to a lot of places. It was competitively priced compared to other rentals in the area but didn't have in unit laundry which was a shame but it was like being back in college so not an unendurable hardship. On site, there was a dentist which was fine, the gym with pool and tennis courts were fantastic and well received by me. Last but not least a 7/11 in the building and a McD's and Starbucks across the street!!! If I lived downtown, I would definitely consider this place again. read more

I've recently moved here from New York, I'm loving it here. Apartment is great, view is amazing Management is helpful and nice Im updating my review for this building. Pros: Great location, awesome neighborhood. Cons: Never ending construction work( everybody tired of waiting till this buildings becomes a better place as per management, we are hearing this b....t for 2 years) It's almost summertime but we can't enjoy our sun deck amd grills coz they decided to start construction on the sun deck. Noisy , annoyingly slow and Im sure it's not gonna end this summer. Rude customer service at the management office, they act as if they are goddesses and don't care about your needs. All they can do is to shut you up and be rude. They can easily just hang up on you, don't be surprised it's their nature . Maintenance staff is getting worse too, rude and incompetent. Yesterday I bought a new chair and left it in the corner, by the loading dock. Couldn't move coz it was heavy, decided to wait for my husband to move it. We left it overnight on the corner, and they tossed it on the garbage in the morning. Management said there is nothing they could do, that it was our fault. Anyways I went to garbage cans and found my beautiful silk chair in the garbage. I asked one of the Maintaince guys to help me out and got yelled. That guy yelled at me as if I was an idiot. I never felt that embarrassed. He helped me to get my chair out of the garbage can and just left us there, didn't even help or say sorry, instead I heard all the yelling and how stupid I was leaving my chair on the corner. So Sad to see how Habitat company tries to make this place better, but instead it's getting worse and worse just because of bunch of unprofessional staff working here. McClurg Court - 36th floor , Ohio st amazing view - Apartments Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I lived in this apartment building for my first 2 years in Chicago, and upon moving out day (which happens to be today) I was really sad! I'm going to miss it here. Let me start by saying that my move-in experience here was phenomenal. I worked with Kirsten in the leasing office, who was super sweet and continued to be a kind face throughout my stay here. On the day I was moving in, I was held up during my drive because of unexpected bad weather, but Kirsten waited after hours for me to give me keys to my new apartment. My stay wasn't without any issues, because I did have some water leaks and damage to my unit while I resided there. But even in those circumstances, I respected how the management team responded to issues and addressed my complaints. I also made a lot of use out of the party room and sun deck, and wish I had taken more advantage of the indoor pool. The amenities are relatively unmatched in the area. All of the door people are friendly and a few even go far above and beyond in looking out for you. I always felt extremely safe and protected. Overall, I have loved my stay here, especially for my first Chicago apartment, and I am actually very sad to leave. I changed jobs from Northwestern (a few blocks away) to another hospital after finishing my medical training, so I am only leaving in order to be in closer proximity to my new job. But I will REALLY miss living in McClurg Court and after 2 years, on move-out day, I'm overwhelmingly grateful that I got to live here! read more

I lived here for two years and can say that it's generally been a good experience. Access to grocery stores, facilities (gym, tennis court, pool, business center, barbecue pits, etc.) are all great. Pretty good bang for the buck in the area. Maintenance was prompt and good, and generally nice. A few downsides: although sound is generally filtered out pretty well, there's an area between the wall and the window that is very thin and lets in sound from next door-- this is true not only in my unit, but every unit in the building. This means that in an otherwise generally sound-proofed unit, this little defect ruins the entire scheme since you can pretty much hear what people are watching on TV next door, you can smell if they're smoking, etc. The people in the building are generally students, but at least they're graduate students who are more serious and less crazy (they are generally law and medical students). They recently changed the shower head faucets, which made the pressure very low and terrible to shower with. You can (and should) request a reversion to the old shower heads. read more

Absolutely horrific experience. In the last couple of months there have been firefighters in and out of the building. Cops investigating drug issues and what seems to be a HOMICIDE. According to management it seems like it didn't happen in this apartment complex because they havent made any comments about the incident of the man who died after falling from the 44th floor. Like I said police is often in due to drug related issues. The smell of drugs is all over some of the floors. I have heard from maintenance of people who have been dealing with this for months. So if you don't mind weed and other stuff smelling all over your clothes and furniture this is a place for you then! Even though I am a female and often work from the outside it is horrible to come home to a drug smell. The way they have handle the coronavirus is a joke. There were a few days where only one elevator would work taking several people at the same time. Guarantee some people got coronavirus from those elevator rides. Stuff break ALL the time inside of the dungeon apartments. There is always construction going on so be prepared if you work from home. Good thing is some of the maintenance guys are nice. I have no idea how Habitat has these people managing McClurg Ct apartments. This place is by far the worst around streeterville. Trust me all of the amenities they show are many times broken. There are several options around streeterville with price similar to this dump and that may give you a lot less of a headache. Trust me on this one! read more

My grandmother has lived at McClurg Court for a year now and we couldn't be happier! The staff is helpful, maintenance is quick and efficient, the amenities are amazing, the resident events are fun, and the building is well maintained. They replaced all of the elevators a few months back and it's made a huge difference. She can conveniently walk to get groceries, run errands, and also Michigan Avenue. We have already renewed her lease for another year! read more
