From the get-go, Donna Warren was polite and receptive to our inquiries, quick in her responses, and helpful in working with our team to consolidate as much work as possible. Donna welcomed us to ask McCollister's to take on much more than we initially thought it was possible for one company to do. Her positive and can-do attitude made a very intimidating process much more manageable for us. This great attitude only continued when we moved into working with our crew on-site and in planning! John Cross was great to work with, easy to reach and always jumped into action whenever we had a question or concern. Ramsey Jones was an absolute life saver and worked as hard as could be imagined. He was here all hours of the day and night, got an amazing amount of work done very quickly and very well, and was kind and approachable, even by someone with little knowledge of the work being performed. He never hesitated to take a moment to answer our questions or help us get clear what was being completed, and worked with our contractors to make sure everyone was on the same page. He was responsible, attentive, and careful, on time, and motivated the rest of our team to get in gear with his hard working attitude. Throughout various stages of work, Ramsey brought in other expert members of the team, and each new member was efficiently organized to work with what was already in motion. His entire team worked hard to get through a mountain of work, and they kept smiles on their faces and always had a friendly demeanor throughout. I was recently calling around for quotes on what it would cost for a moving company to pack up my apartment and put my things in a storage facility. When I called McCollister's Donna mentioned that they have storage units on their property and they could handle all of my needs. This was a one stop shop for me-moving and storage with the same company. When I spoke with Donna I was in a bit of a time crunch and she was kind enough to come over to my apartment within a couple hours to do an estimate for me. She was very thorough taking inventory of my belongings, she provided good packing tips for certain items and she was thorough in explaining how the process works. After receiving an estimate I made a reservation for the movers. I recieved a confirmation call the day before with a time frame of when to expect the crew. I just wanted to say thank you to Donna and the mover's for doing such a great job with everything! The movers were friendly and I am glad they were able to take some items to the dumpster for me. I had some furniture I wasn't going to take with me and I had no way of gettine them down 3 flights of stairs by myself. Chuck helped me package my curio cabinet, which I really appreciate. What I liked about the process was the bar codes they put on every item. My wife and I moved from a Chicago suburb to Santa Barbara. We did a fair amount of research before selecting a moving company and ultimately went with McCollister's based, in part, on the recommendation of a friend who had a very good experience with McCollister's and, equally important, the very positive impression we had when we met with Donna (Friedman) Warren. Donna (who told us she used to work on the trucks) was extremely careful and attentive to detail. Where the other companies we interviewed all said we needed to make special arrangements for some very heavy planters, only Donna was observant (or careful) enough to suggest that we make similar arrangements for a mirror and some artwork. Donna made it clear that this extra protection was optional, but explained why she was recommending it. Once we signed up, Donna was there every step of the way to explain the paperwork (binding estimate, bill of lading, high-value inventory) and to let us know what to expect. When the time came to move, the packers, loaders and driver were all exceptional - they were as careful with our possessions and our houses as could be - we didn't have a single nick in the walls or stair railings or any scratches to the floors, despite both buildings presenting some unusual challenges. We moved from Evanston, IL to Portland, OR in the latter part of April 2015. it was with some trepidation, since we were delivering our daughter's pedal harp to her and also moving an upright studio piano. In asking music dealer's about the best company to move a piano, the name McCollister's kept being mentioned. We called them and they sent Donna Friedman to estimate the move. She's an interesting person, having started in the moving business at age 18 and is now national accounts manager. She walked through the apartment itemizing every piece of furniture and box. Just the way she went about her business gave us confidence that the moves might possibly go smoothly. When we got the estimate it was less than the competing bids. We hired them. The United Van lines truck came, the movers were courteous and careful. We spent the day working with them to get our stuff loaded on the van, spent the night with friends and then drove to Portland. A week later the van arrived Portland and spent most of the day unloading. Everything came through perfectly. I still have trouble believing it went so well. A week latter Donna called to ask how things went, and I told her that if I were going to move anything in Portland, I would call her in Chicago to arrange it. and I meant it. The McCollister's team set up a pack and load schedule that worked well with our family and even changed a few things last minute, at our request, to help accommodate our changing close. We have moved over 23 times and almost all of it corporately. After receiving 3 other quotes we chose McCollister; based on price, and Donna's reassurances of McCollisters real quality and ability. I have to say I was skeptical, because McColisters estimate was much more reasonable than the other quotes, and this one was on me. Donna reassured me again, and took the time to go over every itemized piece she had estimated, so I felt we had it covered. McCollister followed through. Our driver that packed us was really fantastic; so much so I asked if he could be scheduled to deliver our move to North Carolina. We used McCollister's for a move from Chicago to Ohio. From start to finish, this was a phenomenal experience that completely exceeded my expectations. Donna was very professional and great to work with. She answered every single question via phone and/or email, day or night. We used McCollister's to move high value telephony switch equipment. The switches were 8ft tall and many required padded van with special racking. For those that were crated, they unpacked the freight and removed all the debris. They consolidated freight received from multiple sources to make one single delivery to a customer. When the freight was expected to deliver above the 1st floor, they used stair crawlers and sometimes even 4 men to carry the freight. We were satisfied with their performance and their high level of customer service received. When they were faced with obstacles, they were always able to offer a solution. I would recommend them as a carrier for personal/corporate relocations or and to transport any high value goods. read more

We used Mccollister's for a local move withing St Louis Mo. The crew was very thorough in touching base with me many times before our moving day to ensure all was going as planned and to confirm they had us secured to move on the big day. The day of the move the 5 man crew were very friendly and had our entire house packed up fast and safely in the truck in only a few hours. At our new house they were able to navigate the tricky cul-de-sac and not take out any trees or even impede the street during unloading. (that's one way to keep my new neighbors happy!) Regarding the March 2016 move of Ream's Meat Market Could not be happier with the service. They were professional, friendly, and did not complain about moving our huge meat processing/packaging equipment and coolers. All of these pieces of equipment made it safely to our new store with no damage or scratches. I don't think they had ever moved stuff like ours, and it seemed like they were excited for the challenge. They're not a 9-5 company - they stayed late and finished the job, which was very important to us, since we opened up the new store THE NEXT DAY. The crew was great at taking apart office furniture, transporting, and reassembling without any problems. This week we moved my 89 year old mom from a 2000+ foot house to a 1 bedroom senior living complex. We only had a 2 hour window to get her moved into the new apartment. I was extremely nervous.
